The return of Voyager was just the beginning. 13 years later the Federation and its technology improved. After Voyager came home Starfleet went over the data they had and improved upon their technology. Now after those 13 years the Federation has decided to send another ship back to the Delta Quadrant to gather more information and map out regions that Voyager did not get to. Their mission also includes a way to make communication and a stable gateway from the Alpha Quadrant to the Delta Quadrant for the Federation and other Starfleet vessels. Will they succeed? What will happen on this voyage? Join the crew of the USS Orion to find out.

"Est" stood by the controls he knew very well. Currently, he was alone in this room, but that was the case much of the time. He didn't mind; after all, it was his job to be ready in case the transporter was needed. And he needed less rest than a human - only a third of a 32-hour cycle - and thus he was there most of the time when not off-duty. In his entire career, there had never been a transporter accident; this meant he was doing his job right and he had confidence in his abilities.

He was keeping updated as to the current situation. He was ready in case the transporters were needed. Upon hearing that wounded from the Magnolia were soon to be transported onto the Orion, he was ready to beam them over to sickbay. He stood there, awaiting the orders to do so with what appeared to be cool indifference that hid the strong feelings of concern for the crew of the Magnolia and the away team that was on that ship.

Xena walked through the doors to the transporter room. At the control station was an Andorian male, most likely the transport chief. Xena stepped up on one of the stairs so she could be a bit higher than those that were to be transported over in case she needed to quickly draw her phaser, and also so she could easily face the Andorian at the same time.

She gave him a nod to acknowledge his presence in the room as it would have been rude not to. In the brief moment they were waiting for further instruction Xena looked to him to introduce.

"Lieutenant Xena." She said crisply. "Prepared for transport?"

Four more armed Security officers entered the transporter room, upon seeing Xena they took positions near her, the one in the lead, an Ensign, spoke to her as they took their places...

"Ma'am, I'm Ensign Tucker, we were ordered here by Lt. Mishtak in case there was any trouble with our pending arrivals."

About the same time that he received the communication, a Lieutenant Xena arrived in the Transporter room, introducing herself. "Chief Siriskajresth th'Zthel," he introduced himself quickly. A security team soon joined them in the transporter room. The Andorian focused his attention on locking onto the life-signs on the Klingon ship and the shuttle. While mass-transportation wasn't considered safe and wasn't done often, it was possible. There was a chance that there would be errors, especially with the fluctuations of the Klingon ship, but it could be done.

The Andorian was skilled with hand-to-hand combat, and he had his phaser - set to stun - ready if it was necessary. He could be a warrior if he had to be. He used the targetting sensors to get a lock on the life-signs. He had done this for years, and thus, he did it quickly but accurately. "Ready on your command, sir," he reported to the captain. The away team would be beamed to a different room from the Klingons. The latter would be transported to the other transporter room.

Three minutes? "You all heard that. You have exactly three minutes to prepare yourselves if needed. Remember we're to be dealing with 'old time' Klingons." Xena paused and looked to the lower ranks whom looked as if they had no experience at all. "Don't do anything rash."

Preparing herself Xena had her hand at the ready. "All set in the transporter room." Xena said after a quick tap to her combadge.

The Andorian did not err; three Earth minutes and zero seconds later, the Klingons materialised Security. They probably wouldn’t be happy, unfortunately; they were Klingons, and viewed the Federation, currently, as an enemy rather than a brother.

They were all intact, the computer said; at least, as intact as they had been when they’d been on the ship in the seconds prior. “The Klingons have been sent to Security,” he reported, both to the captain and to security.

He turned his attention now on the away team. He still had a lock on them, but hadn’t been given any orders. “Away team, are you ready to be beamed out?” he asked through the comm.

The minute the Klingons were transported aboard there was a bunch of shouting and a few Klingon growls. Commotion everywhere. The lower ranks hand a great look of fear, cowering in their boots. Xena wanted to roll her eyes but stayed focused on her job.

"Yo! Quiet down all or I'll kill you!" Xena's voice broke through the commotion in the room. She had been firm, and serious. Of course she wasn't going to kill anyone, but these were Klingons.

"PetaQ!" One Klingon rushed at Xena. Before he could reach her he was met with a phaser blast to the chest. "Any others for the taking?" Xena asked as she stepped over the Klingons body over to the transporter. The room quieted down some.

A quick glance at the closest ensign Xena said; "Get him out of here. Put him in the brig."

Looking to the Klingons Xena took notice to the children. Families were on board, not just warriors. That might make things a bit more difficult. "Which one of you is the commander that made the distress call?" Xena scanned the crowd. Her ice blue eyes not showing any emotion.

After a pause one of them finally stepped forward. "I am the commander." He plainly stated.

Xena gave him a nod. The two were just about equal in height. She gave a quick tap to her badge. "Lieutenant Xena to Captain Prince, we've the Klingon commander. I suggest to talk you report here."

Looking to 'Est'. "Do you have the-" Xena stopped her sentence short as she caught one of the Klingons by the wrist, as he was about to strike her, giving it a twist walking around behind him grabbing his other arm pulling it back causing him to slowly go to his knees.

"The treaty?"

(OOC: Since no one yet posted, this is gonna seem like a double post.)

The lift doors parted and Captain Prince exited, swiftly making her way to the transporter room to deal with their newly acquired guests; the Klingons. She wasn't exactly looking forward to this, but it had to be done. Upon entering Lydia was a bit shocked at what she saw. One of her officers had one of them twisted like a pretzel on the ground, the other surprise was the children.

"Lieutenant, let him go." Captain Prince ordered a bit firmly, but calmly.

"You must be Commander Miklar." Lydia said walking up to whom was standing positioned like a leader. Just about all captains and commanders had the same stance. Confidant, proud, determined...

"I'm Captain Lydia Prince, commander of this vessel."

"A Human woman?! Commander of this..." Miklar scanned the room. "garbage scowl?" The commanders dander was getting up again.

"I'm sorry you feel that way commander, but this garbage scowl as you so quaintly put it, is the only reason you, your crew, and families are alive. I suggest you get used to being on it too since it, and this Human woman are your only way to ever see home again."

Lydia walked over to the terminal and downloaded the treaty.

"I was talking to a Klingon! He said we would converse in person, instead I am greeted by a woman who thinks she can do a mans job. You will show me the respect I deserve Federation! I ought to kill you where you stand."

Commotion started up again.

"Let's get one thing straight commander," Lydia said as she stepped up to face him, her voice steady, unwavering just like her posture.

"This is my ship, I'm in command here not you, so you will show me and my crew the respect we deserve. I will not be bullied into submission nor will I allow threats of any kind on this ship. So, you have two options; shape up, conforming to our rules or take the rest of this trip locked in our brig. The choice is yours."

Lydia slapped the downloaded PADD of the treaty into his hand. "The treaty between the Federation and Klingon Empire."

A swift motion to her badge. "Lieutenant Mishtak report to the transporter room now."

Lydia smiled. "You'll get to speak with our residant Klingon in a moment. Until then, you have me."

James had just beamed aboard, once aboard he noticed he was surrounded by Klingon's and security officer's. James saw that the captain was also there and said "sorry for being late to the party" he laughed a bit in his mind.
