"So true. As long as Starfleet doesn't send any orders through the wormhole, or we don't get into a space battle." La'Mara said with a smile and very light jest on the last subject. She didn't want to get into a space battle if it could be at all avoided. Actually, some down time after this might be nice. The crew could choose what they wished to do, or...the Orion and her crew could check out the newly established, and not to mention first station in the Delta Quadrant. If applicable of course.
"I also hope we'll find out if the younger of the crew have returned." La'Mara turned and looked out into the distance. It was starting to get a little nippy. Not to mention the sun was starting to drift down, and the planets moon would soon be saying hello. "Away team protocols require officers to check in."
La'Mara lightly tilted her head to one side, and smiled a light guilty smile.
"Hmm. Alright, I'll admit to not always following the rules. Sometimes they have to be bent...or slightly misconstrued...misinterpreted..." La'Mara took a breath and headed back to the shuttle again. "I just hope they're alright and didn't get lost. Oh boy. Ya know, I don't think I can count on one or both hands how many times I got lost when digging around for artifacts, or when getting transferred from a Nova class to a Galaxy Class vessel." Tiho paused a moment.
"Or should I say Trenton and Axany?"

Hector nodded curtly and set to work re-making the shuttle. It was a faster process to cobble the basics together this time, having done it before -- but it needed extra functioning parts, this time. He added more than just basic sensors, he had to set it so that it could broadcast. He recorded a brief message and encoded the crash data from the Chakotay, and then quickly replicated and added a tractor beam.
The little shuttle was programmed to seek any starfleet signal and then attach itself like a limpet to the ship, broadcasting on all frequencies their location and the message. It said "This is Lieutenant Commander Hector Romilly of the Federation Starship Orion issuing a distress signal. Our shuttle crash landed on the surface of a planet at the attached coordinates. The atmosphere will knock out the engines of further ship-attempted rescues; our transporters cannot cut through the noise. We require immediate assistance. My suggestion -- from up there, you ought to be able to burn off some of the atmosphere and cut through it with your transporters."
The launching device was more troublesome. Hector didn't have time to redo it all, if it went wrong. He had to think very carefully about how he was going to achieve it. He needed to shield the shuttle from damage and program it to come to live, and furthermore, he needed to attach it to a photon torpedo.
A photon torpedo was essentially an electromagnetic pulse. He could attach it by ensuring the little shuttle emitted a pulse that was attracted to the pulse of the torpedo -- and then, at the opportune moment, emit an opposite one to disengage it.
They would be lucky if the cobbled together miniature would survive the process, but they had little choice but to try.
When it was arranged, Hector offered a cursory glance at Hughes, before he launched the shuttle into the sky. Once it had cleared the atmosphere and disappeared from sight, he remotely engaged the reversed polarity -- and hoped to God it hadn't been incinerated.
It hadn't. The shuttle was damaged, but functional, and it immediately began to broadcast and look for the Orion.

They made it back to the shuttle. Apparently Romilly and Hughes had come up with a plan; one which La'Mara thought was quite inventive. Hopefully the Orion would pick up the signal and be able to transport them all up with ease. "I suggest we prepare for transport. I have no doubt that the Orion is coming for us and will get us back." La'Mara said with positive attitude. "All we have to do now is simply wait."

OOC: To keep us moving along...
Before anything else could happen, La'Mara felt the familiar feel of the transporter beam sweeping her up. Apparently the ship had gotten the message and figured out a way to get the away team back on board. Some crew. One to be proud of. And she certainly was: the away team as well as those on the Orion.
