Seeing as Rose is not a Chief or Assistant, and doesn't have any "predeveloped" contacts, I thought it'd be good to start up a Plotting Thread for her. When she isn't on the Bridge, I'd like to do some character development with her.
Rose Digby is a soft-spoken, enthusiastic and intelligent girl, the youngest commissioned officer in the Science Department. On duty, she hasn't got too much confidence in her abilities.
Friends
It's pretty easy to befriend Ensign Digby. She enjoys a good chat with people, and might ask people to do some holodeck adventuring if they're up for it. I imagine those in higher ranks might take a shine to her, despite the fact that she sometimes makes remarks about them that are light-hearted to the point of being cheeky.
Enemies
Becoming a real enemy is more difficult as Rose genuinely tries to get along with everybody. That being said, it's certainly possible that people could see her as a lightweight and lack respect for her, especially if they're older and have a lower rank.
Love
If anyone is going to create a male around her age, I was hoping they might get along well and fall in love. I imagine Rose to be the one who either develops a girlish crush on somebody, or to fall in love slowly but surely with one of her male friends.
Notes
- Together with Lisa Huygens, Rose is in the Social Initiatives Group, the group that organises community activities for the crew.
Character Development Possibilities
There are a few ways in which Rose's character can develop over the course of the RP, that others plotting with her might (as opposed to should, I retain discretion over whether things work) help her with:
- Rose lacks self-confidence when on duty. Even if she has a brilliant idea, she is unlikely to voice it for fear of her doing something wrong.
- Rose misses her parents. A mentor might be able to step into this gap a little.
I could come up with more later.
