[Fin][open] Hide and Seek in Jeffery Tubes

Running down the corridor, Antin was glad he did not see any grownups in the corridors. He was laughing, that stupid girl could not catch him. He was losing his breath and laughing at the same time. He stopped, placing his back against the wall.

He saw an opening in the wall. The cover was lying on the floor. Rubbing his head with his right hand, he was wondering what was in there. So he had to go see. Poking his head in the Jeffery Tubes, Antin noticed it was small and it looked neat. It was a great hiding place. He crawled in. It was tight. He heard someone. Moving fast as he can, he was trying not to be seen.

"OW!" he yelled. Banging his right knee cap against the steel ladder, he was in pain. Rubbing the knee, he was wishing the pain to go away.

[Sharpay Harper]

Sharpay, still dressed as a child in a: white shirt, a pink pleaded skirt, Mary Janes, and a pink hair ribbon was dilly dallying down the corridor. She saw someone race into an empty space. The jeffries tubes. She hide behind the rounding of one of the walls for a minute; looking forward and behind her. Was he running from something?

Sharpay tip-toed over to the space, opened the door, and crawled inside. "Hey! You!" She called after the person. An 'ow'. She saw this person rubbing his knee as she came closer. "Are you okay?"

"Hey! You!"

Hey was that a grown up?

Antin was alarmed because the grownups where everywhere. He looked down to see her. It was a grown up. He rolled his eyes. The odds were against him.

However, she was wearing nice civilian clothes. She did not have an ugly uniform on. She looked normal in her outfit. He was wearing a long sleeve orange shirt, blue jeans and sneakers. It seemed they both were wearing normal clothes.

"Are you okay?”

It was hard to talk when you were in pain, but he spoke anyways. “I think I broke my knee,” he replied. He was hoping she would help him. She seemed to be nice. He was not sure he could trust her. “Are you alone?” he asked, hoping there were no uniform people with her. “You better be alone,” he warned her with a deep voice.

It was a long way down, and a long way up, but there are crawling spaces too. He could see there are two escape routes, up and sideways. It was good to make these observations. You never know the girl could be tricking Antin in a trap for the adults. And, too bad the girl was not a boy, he would feel less afraid. He would choose to trust a boy over a girl. But, she was not wearing a stupid uniform. So he decided why not give her a chance. The other girl with Volcano was cool. So, why not this one?

[Sharpay Harper]

Broke his knee? "If you did break your knee how do you expect to handle a jungle jim?" He also went on to ask if she was alone, and also warned that she had better be alone. That made Sharpay a little angry. She had already finished crying about being alone; the whole adopted thing. Lilly had comforted her.

"Where did you say it hurt again?" Sharpay asked, more so rhetorically. She was going to punish him. Sharpay made slapped his knee hard. "Was it here?" That ought to teach him not to ask me that ever again!

[Ensign Mary Anne Summers]

Mary Anne was looking for Antin. She didn't see him any place in the halls. "Hello?" Mary Anne called out as she wandered the corridor. Then she heard a big 'ow'. "He's in the tubes!" Mary Anne exclaimed as she entered a hatch and began crawling. "Little boy! I know you're in here!"

Rounding a corner she saw him. Him and Sharpay. Mary Anne was just in time to see Sharpay hit Antin on the knee. "Is sharpay playing tag now too?" Mary Anne questioned as she pointed to Sharpay. No body tells me anything...

Where did you say it hurt again?

Sharpay caused Antin more pain as she smacked his knee. Glaring at her, he was going to hit her back, but, realized she was a girl and he was a boy. “You stupid girl,” he yelled at her.

Was it here?

“What sort stupid—“ He looked down to see the other girl.

Is Sharpay playing tag now too?

She found him in Jeffery-tubes, Antin was rolling his eyes in disgust. The girl that hit him was named Sharpay. Interesting! “Yea, I think,” Antin was thinking. “But if she hits me again…I am going hit her back,” he said, rubbing his leg.

Changing his mind, he slapped her back on her shoulder, “Ha! You are IT Sharpay.” He was climbing up to get away. Getting away and ignoring the knee pain, Antin was playing as any child would, but he really injured his kneed bad. “You never catch me!” It was like a dream he had. In his dream he had many girls that came and talked to him at the bar. He did not know why he had a dream about a bar and these monsters made out of machines. Oh they are scary. He wished the image go away but it won't. He needed to get away from the girls and the monster machines.

"Wait a minute! I'm it, remember?!" Mary Anne called out as she started to crawl a bit faster to catch up to Antin. Never catch him? Dream world much? "Well, I don't know about Sharpay, but I can soooo catch you!" Mary Anne stated with a giggle. This was fun! "And if I don't get you Sharpay can! She knows this ship better than anyone!" Mary Anne looked back at the blonde for a minute. "Even if she is sometimes kinda stubborn."

Two girls, Antin was out numbered. That was not fair. Who made these rules? He was going to need reinforcements. Crawling higher, he was not sure where the ladder was taking him.

“Girls, you wish!” he yelled, laughing at them.

In the corner of his eyes, Antin saw a blinking green light. A Borg was reaching for him, he felt he was being grabbed. the child memory quickly came back to haunt him. His dark brown eyes were wide as he was staring at the green light. The green glowing light was the only thing Antin could see in the dark. He saw a pale face of the Borg’s face. It was not the Borg, it was his imagination.

Shaking his head back and forth, he had escape of the child flash back. “NOOOO!” he yelled, he was fighting to climb faster.

[Sharpay Harper]

Stupid girl. Whatever. Sharpay had been called worse, just some of it she could not remember. Likely a good thing too. And what was this about 'playing tag too'? Sharpay never asked to play, but before she knew it the boy with the hurt knee tagged her as it, quite hard too. No bother. He was then off! Then Mary Anne said something about her being the one that was it.

"Mean?! I so am not!" Shar snapped as she chased after. Then...

“NOOOO!”

It echoed throughout the jeffries tubes. Did he ever have a good set of lungs!

Sharpay caught up with Mary Anne who had a fearful look about her after she had heard the loud cry. "Wait! What's wrong?!" Sharpay shouted in his direction.

"Are you okay?!" Mary Anne asked with concern.

“The monsters!” he yelled. “They stole my mom and dad!” he was scared, tears rolling down his cheeks. He was reliving a nightmare. It was when he was living on his home planet El-Auria. He was a young lad. It was the time when the Borg was attacking his beautiful and peaceful home planet. “They don’t play tag. They grab and steal!” he said, quickly looking down at the girls. “Quick! They don’t play by the rules!”

Young Antin was afraid to move. Waiting to see what will happen to the girls. He noticed a light in the corner of his eye. It was down a small tunnel. It was like the ladder he was climbing, but they will be able to crawl to the light. “Quick this way,” he yelled to the girls below. Crawling on all fours, Antin stopped and looked behind him “Hurry! We can out run them! We are faster than them!”

Monsters? Did he just say monsters? Stolen parents? Mary Anne blinked with confusion. She didn't see anyone except Antin and Sharpay. They were also the only people that she heard talking too. Maybe he was just trying to fool her and Sharpay because they were girls, yes?

“They don’t play tag. They grab and steal!” “Quick! They don’t play by the rules!”

"Who doesn't?" Mary Anne asked as she looked up at Antin. "Who are you talking about?"

Did he just change the game they were playing?

[Sharpay Harper]

Sharpay looked around. She didn't hear anyone or see anyone. She was just as confused as Mary Anne appeared to be. "I don't see anyone." Sharpay stated as she looked around. Personally she was starting to get a little bit scared too. There was only one thing to do!

Sharpay had been a pretty good mechanics whizz even as a child. She crawled over to the end of one of the tubes to where another would begin. There was an emergency kit there. Wait, how did she know that? Shar shrugged it off and pulled the kit.

Flipping it open she pulled out the tricorder. "I got a scanning tool!" She shouted for all to hear. She turned it on and started to scan for lifeforms. She was only reading herself, Mary Anne, and Antin. "Hold on, I'll switch it." Nothing came up on the other setting either.

"It still says we're alone!" Sharpay announced. "Who are we faster than?"

“Whatya mean scanning?” he slowly turned around in the low tube, moving back to the ladder and he looked down. “What are you babbling about girl?” he observed the techie metal thing in her hands. It was making all sorts of noises. “What’s that? How did you get that? Lemme see?” he forgot about the chase game, the monsters and he had two beautiful women on the ladder below him. “Can I see it?” He was going down to Sharpay and Mary Anne.

He was not feeling the pain in his knee, but, he was too interested in the machine that blonde girl had. She was smart. She had to be. God, Sharpay was smart for a blonde and Mary Anne was clever. They are okay for girls. So far.

Who are we faster?

The man stopped. “Hold on,” he replied. “You said we are alone?” He had wondered what she meant by that. “What do you mean we are alone? How do you know that we are alone? And where are we?” he was finishing climbing down to the girls. He was really interested to see the scanner she had.

[Sharpay Harper]

"My name is Sharpay. Not 'girl'." Sharpay stated narrowing her brown eyes as Antin. She didn't like to be called anything other than her name. Her name was one thing that actually belonged to her since she was born. No other name would she answer to.

"No! It's mine." Sharpay switched the scanning mode again. The beeping sound was now faster. "And it's a tricorder. It's for scannin' things, places, and people. I got it out of this." Sharpay pointed to the kit in front of her. It also contained a few medical supplies (such as a dermal regenerator) and a hand phaser.

"Watch where you point that one." Shar said as she pointed to the phaser. "The tricorder says we are alone. See?" Sharpay held the tricorder up and outward so they could see the information. As she held the tricorder up Sharpay looked around.

"We're in section twenty one." Sharpay informed as she pointed to a bulkhead that had the number twenty one listed.

Mary Anne too crawled in the direction of Sharpay. That thing in her hand looked familiar. She was intregued by the device too. "Don't be so grabby." She told Antin as Mary Anne got close to the kit. She reached inside and pulled out the medical tool. "Who wants to play doctor?"

"The tricorder says we are alone. See?"

"Ohh..." Mary Anne stopped waving the medical device around. "Look. There's me, and you, and you!"
