Shawn scanned the bridge with his eyes. The place looked better than he had expected! All those shiny buttons and consoles! His eyes eventually landed on Commander Christian Hughes. "Thanks for suspecting I could influence the entire ship." Shawn said as he slowly walked up to the commander, looking at a few stations as he passed them.
"It's weird to see officers coloring on the corridor walls, playing tag, and having food fights in the mess hall." Shawn lightly smirked as he went around and sat in the commanders chair. "And you always tell me to behave." He said as he ran his hands back and forth on the arm rests. "Well, there is only one thing to do!" Shaw said with a grin as he looked up at Christian. "And that is to ground them, until they can behave of course. Maybe get the EMH online, and you me and the computer can run the ship until everyone is better; since we don't know when that will be we could set course to the first friends we made in the Delta Quadrant."
Shawn scratched the top of his head for a second in thought. "If the EMH can't figure anything out maybe the Rathren know what is wrong? They lived here longer than we have. Oh, and there is one crew member that I'm aware of that isn't acting strange. That would be Lilly."

As he entered the Bridge, Christian unexpectedly ran into Shawn, who had come onto the Bridge quite unexpectedly. He was even greeted in Shawn-fashion with a somewhat cheeky: "Thanks for suspecting I could influence the entire ship." Typical Shawn, he thought. "Don't mention it," he said, rolling his eyes, somewhat annoyed.
Then Shawn went on telling a whole story about how unfair it was that the officers were allowed not to behave while he never behaved. But before Chris could get annoyed at him, he went and showed off a superb wunderkind plan that was, well... crazy, but worth a try. "Worth a try," he said, and pointed Shawn to the First Officer's chair. "Sit down there, and don't touch anything. I'll..." He was about to say he would go down to activate the EMH, until he was broken off by a bleep and then the voice of Lillian Daniels.
"// Lillian Daniels to Commander Hughes //" Chris tapped his commbadge. "Hughes here. Are you alright, Lilly?"

//"Actually, that was going to be my question to you, sir." "I know strange things happen in the life of Starfleet officers, but I never expected to console one. I found a time window for the childish going-ons..." "Thought it might be important. Given the circumstances, would you like me to report to sickbay?" //

"Sit down there, and don't touch anything. I'll..."
Don't touch anything? Wow. Did that statement or order show just how little Commander Hughes knew of the boy...or maybe just how much. Most people told Shawn not to touch anything because they didn't want anything messed up or just didn't think he knew anything about what was going on or taking place. Hadn't anyone on this ship ever seen the movie Dennis The Menace?!
Then Lilly's voice came over Commander Hughes' combadge.
Shawn did his best to withhold a laugh at the girls first sentence. Adults were never alright. Too strict. Or, well, now they were too childish. "Time window?" Shawn looked at Christian briefly, before leaning on the arm rest in the direction of the monitor that sat between the captains and commanders chair. Shawn tapped a few buttons. "She used the station in the hydroponics bay to find that window..." Did I say that out loud? Oh well.
"If both of you got to sickbay does that mean I get to command the bridge?"

Christian ignored Shawn for a while, especially when he made a rather not-too-funny pun on the phrase 'time window' which Lily used. Instead, he continued his conversation with the girl. "Lilly, here's what I want you to do," he said, warmly encouraging. "Go to sickbay and activate the EMH, then create a visual commlink with the Bridge, so that we four can speak." He looked at Shawn with a 'there-is-your-answer'-look when Shawn had asked him moments ago about whether he was in command. Christian was staying here.
"Okay, all right," he said, pondering. "So how do we ground a whole lot of juvenile Starfleet Officers?"

Drat! Shawn thought, unhappily about the answer given. Well, perhaps he would not be in command today, but maybe later down the road... Hey! One never knows what exactly the future will bring. Maybe one day he will have no other choice but to take command. Shawn ginned at the thought.
Shawn lightly shook his head. Why did adults insist on complicating things? Grounding them would be easy!
"Well Commander, we can always put up the force field on the brig then transport a hand-full of officers there. As for the others we could just stick up force fields around the cargo bays, then transport the rest of the crew inside there. After transport we could cut power to things they don't need, and change the access codes so even the captain can't override the commands."
Each cargo bay, in an emergency could hold up to approximately 200 people. Well, it worked when Voyager did it!
"Or...we could just leave everyone in the transporter buffer." Scotty stayed in there how many years before the Enterprise D found him?

"The Captain is still the Captain, Shawn," he said. "I can't just lock her up without somebody declaring her unfit for command." The suggestion about the transporter buffer was even more ludicrous. "And don't let me hear you utter any such plans of dubious ethics as putting people in the Transporter buffer," he added.
All of a sudden, Lillian Daniels appeared on-screen with the Doctor. Well, a copy of the one from Voyager, made especially for this mission. The Doctor himself was on Earth, settled with a family (though Christian didn't know how that had happened). "Yes, we're receiving you loudly and clearly, Lilly," he said. "And hello Doctor."

Dubious ethics? Since when? History says they were impressed! Maybe it was just because he was 'only a boy'. You just stayed a bunch of energy when stuck inside. Shawn shrugged and simply said: "Okay."
"Even if you already know she is unfit?" Shawn questioned, with curiosity. "If I may pose a question, sir, what exactly the difference between the captain and myself right now? Except for the fact that she is older than you, but acting younger than me?"
This kind of puzzled Shawn a little bit. Sure there were the regulations, but honestly? Commander Hughes wouldn't let him have command of the bridge, so why would he let the captain, without someone deeming her unfit when one could already see with their own eyes?
Suddenly there was Lilly on the screen. Sitting on his feet, Shawn said: "Hiya Lilly! Hiya Doc!"

Xena had dragged La'Mara out of the ready room. The Trill captain had a long white laced table cloth hanging on her head and a scoop full of red roses in on hand. "Christian," Xena said as she walked La'Mara over to him. La'Mara struggled and protested the while. "Here is your bride!"

"Even if you already know she is unfit?" Shawn questioned, with curiosity. "If I may pose a question, sir, what exactly the difference between the captain and myself right now? Except for the fact that she is older than you, but acting younger than me?"
Children, the ask the darnest things. The last things Commander Christian Hughes needed right now was to play twenty questions with an eleven year old. "Yes." Christian replied to Shawn's first question. He did his best not to let his slight irritation show through. This didn't need to turn into a crises. "Right now it is just the questions," Christian managed to say with a light smile. Then...speak of the devil.
Xena had pulled La'Mara onto the bridge, dressed like a bride no less.
"Christian," Here is your bride!"
It was difficult not to turn beet red. The poor commander.
"Uh," Christian was practically speechless. He cleared his throat. "Do we have a solution to this problem yet?" He asked of the doctor and Lilly as he turned to face the view screen.

Walking on the bridge, Michael saw what he liked the most. It was that screen that his father showed him when he was on his father’s ship. It was not his father’s ship, but he knew he had access to come aboard the bridge. He liked seeing the stars of space.
Smiling ear to ear, Michael saw all the other people. “Hey, it almost looks like my father’s ship,” he said. He quickly walked to the main screen. “It never gets boring,” he said, turning to see a little runt on the Captain’s chair, he saw the pips on the others. He grew up on a starship, he understand the meaning of the pips.
“Captain,” he said to the female. “Who’s that your son?” and he saw the veil. “And you’re getting married to the first officer. Congrats!” He knew how to behave on a starship bridge because father taught him the etiquette.

//"From the time table you gave me it shows the crew started this strange child behavior shortly after leaving the planet. Did any of them ingest the new food brought on board? Also, I'd like to request that a fruit and a vegetable from the planet be brought to sickbay for analysis. It could prove in finding a way to cure the Starfleet officers of their wonder years. I'd also be appreciative if someone would check the bio filters."//
