Doing her best to keep her frustration of all the ups and downs that were going on with this so called rescue as well as doing her best to keep her mind off of a certain lieutenant Ensign Sharpay Harper had been keeping the ship and her systems up the best she could with all the miss communication that had been going on. Not to mention she had picked up a tiny glitch in the computer core that should not have been in the coding in the first place.
Really the only reason she had picked up on that was because she had been making her own little adjustments when time would allow. What could she say? Sharpay was pretty good at multitasking for the most part; delegating was a tad different. Of course while multitasking Sharpay was keeping close tabs on the bridge. She was a little annoyed when she heard the captain order another person to engineering. Sheesh! Didn't the woman have faith in her at all?

Lt. Mishtak steps out of the turbolift and enters engineering, he spots Ensign Harper at her post and makes his way over to her, hoping that his physical presence does not intimidate her as it would other humans...
"Ensign Harper, the Captain wished me to assist you with this Klingon vessel..."
he thinks for a moment, trying to change the Klingon wording of what do you want into something more pleasant like what a human would say...
"how may I be of assistance?"

Ensign Harper looked up when she heard the doors to engineering open. Must be the lieutenant the captain spoke of. Ensign Harper thought as she looked up at the screen in front of her. The data was coming through from the bridge as had been told.
"Ensign Harper, the Captain wished me to assist you with this Klingon vessel..."
Sharpay looked up at Lieutenant Mishtak. She folded her arms and leaned with her back against the console, giving him a curt nod.
"I've heard." Was all she said at the moment as Sharpay turned back round to face the screen, but side stepped so the lieutenant could see as well. What they were looking at was a mostly garble transmission for the most part. Trying to make heads or tails of it was something else as it seemed to be somewhat old. The data and the ship it was apparently coming from.
At the moment, considering where they were the Orion's sensors were a having a bit of difficultly, even with the help of the probe that had been sent in earlier.
"How may I be of assistance?"
Sharpay raised a finger and pointed at the screen. "Maybe you could help with that?" Sharpay paused the screen. "Can you recognize the formatting being used in this transmission? It doesn't seem to match up with the latest style being used by the Klingons, not to say I'm an expert on Klingon technology. Then there's also this..."
Sharpay looked down and pressed a button on the screen. It was a voice speaking in the back round, and the language she guessed had to be Klingon.
"Mok'tah" and "juntaH!"
Sharpay looked at the lieutenant as the words came over the speakers. Sure Sharpay could have run them through the translator, however she hadn't picked up on the back round voice until a few seconds before the lieutenants' arrival. Those words might give them a clue and so could the formatting if Lt. Mishtak knew how old or the problem was.

Mishtak looked over the display, indeed it was an older format, one he trained on as a small boy, as for the garbled message being played he understood the words well, though not the context in which they were being used in this situation...
"this is indeed an older format, I have not seen it in use since I was a small boy, as for the words on the transmission... Mok'tah is a word, that I can only translate as meaning... Bad Match in your language. juntaH translates loosely into Evasive, could mean the commander of the vessel was ordering evasive maneuvers when this transmission was recorded... I can not be certain what Mok'tah was in reference too."
Baktag I wish I could hear more of the transmission....
"you will be able to clear up more of it."
I need to hear more of the message in order to make determination of the meanings... he stood, watching the display for some time more, trying to mentally connect the pieces of this puzzle, as if it were one of his model vehicles...
"we need to hear more of the message as soon as possible Ensign."

Well, this was getting to be very interesting. So it was an older format, but according to the information they had the ship was still in the phenomenon. This one intact the other destroyed.
"You will be able to clear up more of it." "We need to hear more of the message as soon as possible Ensign."
"That depends." Sharpay looked up at Mishtak. "The ship you were on as a boy, was it similar to a D7? I know they were discontinued at some point, but if I could somehow modify the ship to pick up that frequency then it might be possible to clear the message up some more."
Sharpay moved over to the main station in engineering.
"Feel free to tap away at the controls if you need to. They won't bite."

"All Klingon ships are similar to a D7. Perhaps... give me a moment."
Mishtak stepped to the console and began typing in several Klingon transmission frequencies, at least as many as he could remember,
"Ensign, try using these frequencies for now and see if any of them help make it clearer. Computer, check for all known Klingon frequencies on file and run the message through each one."
He continued programming all that he could remember, his memory was a little fuzzy in the area of communications and frequencies, especially the ones used when he was younger, but every warrior is expected to know as much about their ship as possible, and much of that information remained with the warrior his entire life, though Mishtak had forgotten some of it in order to retrain himself to operate Federation technology, but he still remembered enough that he hoped he would be helpful and not just taking up space in Engineering, or stepping on anyone elses toes in the process.

"All Klingon ships are similar to a D7. Perhaps... give me a moment."
Sharpay's eyes flickered towards Lt. Mishtak. The last part of his sentence is what had caught her attention. It sounded as if he had an idea. Hopefully whatever it was was a good idea and not just something that would make the task a little more difficult.
"Ensign, try using these frequencies for now and see if any of them help make it clearer. Computer, check for all known Klingon frequencies on file and run the message through each one."
"Alright..." Sharpay trailed off as she did as suggested.
"Acknowledged." Chimed the voice of the computer upon request.
It was clearing up rather rapidly.
"Wonderful!" Sharpay exclaimed at the progress as she tapped away and read the screen.
"This is Commander Miklar of the Klingon vessel IKS K'Thal. Our ships hull about to breech! Requesting immediate assistance!" After a crackling sound "Evasive maneuvers!" was heard.
Then suddenly one of the worst words, well two escaped Sharpay's lips. "Uh oh." Sharpay said with a grim look. "Uh...it appears we don't have much time. It also looks like this vessel has been trapped here for many years, and it's on the verge of, well...going bye bye as the message says."
Sharpay tapped her badge.
"Ensign Harper to bridge, we've managed to clear up the communication and found out that this call has been transmitting for roughly around the time the constitution class was still being built. We also have another problem. If we don't get the ship out now everyone on that ship is going to perish. Please don't ask how everyone is still alive, because I don't know."

"There was once a story used in training helmsman about Commander Miklar and the IKS K'Thal, it was used as a method of what not to do, as they had never been seen again."
Mishtak stepped back from the console as he replayed the message once again
"until today anyway..."
as Ensign Harper sent word to the bridge of their discovery he tried to remember the lesson from which he remembered these names, it had something to do with a piloting glitch mixed with faulty equipment in engineering he thought... but he was never one for remembering all the old stories he heard and so it was difficult for him to recall exactly what the records said had happened to this vessel, which was clearly not as destroyed as the Klingon Empire had been led to believe...

"This is not my normal station, but the Captain had ordered me here, so if there is anything I can do to assist while I am here, do not hesitate to ask."
Mishtak remained in engineering, knowing well that his security details would run according to his schedule and that the Chief Security/Tactical Officer would be on the bridge to oversee it while he was assigned here.

Blue alert? Oh no...
Suddenly the USS Orion began to experience mild turbulance as she went in.
"I have a feeling our captain will want transporters to stay functional, and if that's the case this ship is libal to get rather crowded." Sharpay said as she walked a few feet across the room to another console. At the moment she was going to straighten out inertial dampners. After all, who needed a ship that was moving like a baby's cradle during a rescue...or at the moment an attempt to rescue.
Sharpay let out a sigh of relief. The ride was now smooth, and hopefully it would stay that way. She didn't want to get blamed if someone lost their lunch. This is strange...
Sharpay lifted a hand and motioned for Mishtak to come join her. Something she noticed now that was going to make thing more difficult was that the Klingon vessel seemed to be shifting in and out of phase. Oh, what now...

Mishtak followed Sharpay and saw what he showed her, the Klingon vessel was in deed shifting in and out of phase.
"I do not see this making things any easier for us."
wishing now he knew more about quantum physics than he did, he did not know how he could help, a feeling of helplessness washed over him and he let out a small, quiet growl to chase the feeling away...
"Is there any way for us to get a message to them yet?"
thinking that if he could communicate with the other Klingon's perhaps they could find a way for their engineers to cooperate with Sharpay and work on the problem from both sides at once.

Sharpay heard the lieutenants growl and tried to keep from giggling, but she couldn't help it as a little smile came to her light pink lips. She was thinking quickly, things she had learned running through her head. Hmmm...
"Is there any way for us to get a message to them yet?"
"I don't-" Sharpay then let out a gasp. "I think...maybe..." She was quickly calculating a few odds and variables in her head. "A shuttle and a dekyon beam!"
Sharpay turned to face Mishtak. "That just might bring them out, then we could communicate regularly, not to mention beam the crew aboard." Sharpay quickly tapped her badge.
"Ensign Harper to bridge. I believe I have found a way to get the ship and crew."

"A shuttle craft would need to be prepared... we'll need the Captain's permission."
thinking of the security that will be needed when the Klingon's were brought on board he began running through his roster in his mind. Knowing that if this works he will be needed in transporter room they arrive in in case they decide to be hostile.
He looks over the information on Sharpay's screen, her calculations forming faster than any human he'd ever seen... he was quite impressed with the young engineer...
"Good work Ensign."
