"I will just have to do that, because in my opinion they added some very cool hero moments in there... not to mention the conversation between Spock and Himself at the end... EPIC!
anyway, I'll just go ahead and start a new thread now "so it was discussed on a different thread that some people were not too happy with the J.J. Abrams Star Trek film... now personally, I liked it, there were several epic moments in it, and would have been more if William Shattner had not been a pompous ass when approached to play George Kirk (James Kirk's Father) the special lighting affects used gave it a new yet old school appearance when on the bridge, the detail of the engineering section was wonderful, though I was not keen on the actor's at first, the Bone's/Kirk relationship was played out extremely well and Spock was... well, he was... he was Spock, and done very well, and the excellent Spock to Spock chat was amazing... anyway, I'll stop rambling now and allow someone else to put in their 2 cents

Did you have your glasses on while watching? Nothing about it looked old school. The bridge SO reminded me of Galaxy Quest with Tim Allen.

It was supposed to look updated, but the lighting was supposed to make it resemble the Original series... and the bad guy was epically awesome... his line, from when he first met Capt. Pike is my favorite...
"This is Capt. Christopher Pike of the SS Enterprise."
"Hi Chris, I'm Nero..."
you just don't see to many bad guys with that sense of style these days...

I can't help but hate it! Hate it to the core. Blasphemy to the Trek universe is what it bloody is. This is how it should have ended. Haha!!!

I laughed so hard. Though on a more serious note, I would still consider this new Trek movie more Star Trek then I would Nemesis. First off, Nemesis was made my a couple of fans, not a big name director. I do not even consider it Canon, and wont until there is proof laid before that is it considered Canon. With that said, anything even Star Wars is more Star Trek then Enterprise is, Enterprise was/is garbage!

Personally I hated the film. It did not have the Star Trek feel. It was more like watching a sequel to Galaxy Quest or something. Nothing on that ship looked old. I also did not care all that much for the acting either.
They could have done something from a Voyager angle or something. They have enough books! We have a lot of Kirk movies!
To me personally this movie was a very huge let down. To be honest I fell asleep twice during the movie when watching it at the theater with my dad. That is how uninteresting I found it.
And this thread is about the movie. If you'd like to talk about ENT feel free to start a topic in the right thread.

Seeing as I'm not going to win any of you haters over to liking this movie, perhaps I can at least get you to agree with this fact - the film was designed to look like the original series was SUPPOSED to look but could not due to a lack of budgeting.

I still say blah. Even if it was suppose to look like that back in the 60s I really think TOS would not be one of my favorites.
