Rose was a bit scared of the returning Chief Conn Officer, looking away from the man. She wondered why his personality was so closed, as if he had built a stone wall around himself. He was a sad man, that was certain, but why? It didn't matter. Rose looked away and back at Lieutenant Huygens. She seemed to disapprove. Rose felt like a fool as Huygens told her it was not a question. "Well..." she answered, then paused for a moment to calm herself down and at least appear confident. "I'll try not to disappoint you, Lieutenant." And our Captain.
Rose then went to the turbolift and asked it rather kindly to go to Deck 5, as if it would refuse her. "Deck 5, please."

// "Digby to Bridge?" she started hesitantly. "Er... the readings may be unreliable, but if we're right, we've found four planets in a system nearby that are at least Class L." //

The captain signaled for Commander Hughes to follow her to the ready room...
"Lieutenant Mishtak, You have the Bridge."
"Understood Sir."
He said as he pressed a button on the console, alerting security that the bridge needed a tactical officer to fill in, a young ensign arrived to fill in until Lt.Xena could make it to her post as she was undoubtedly detained with other duties.
He stepped down and took a seat in the captains chair, as per starfleet regulations when in the role of commanding officer on the bridge in the captain's absence.
Commander Reinhardt was bleeding from his head Mishtak noticed when the commander turned around to witness the discussion from the science department.
"Commander Reinhardt, I recommend you speak to a member of the medical staff and get that wound checked out, I'm fairly certain starfleet frowns on blood stains on the consoles."
even if it is standard on a Klingon vessel and it almost makes me feel at home, he thought to himself. He then glanced at Sharpay and had another thought, this is my home now...
He then looked at the view screen, which the captain had ordered off, he wondered why...
He listened to the conversation behind him and wondered why Lt. Huygens was treating the ensign with kid gloves, but he shook it off as being just the way she is and said nothing about it.
"Tactical, what is the current status?"
He knew what the answer would be, but needed someone to do something to ease the tension...
"Sensors and weapons are operating at ninety percent sir." Ensign Smith said.
"Very good." Sharpay's voodoo has worked again,he finished in his head.
"Maintain course and speed as per the captains orders and bring us to a full stop just out of the star's field of interference."
He didn't know if this star would radiate something unfriendly or if there would be solar flares of some kind that might damage the ship and so he chose to be as cautious as possible without overriding the captains orders completely.

"You better get down to engineering. Help with further repairs and keep me updated."
Sharpay got up and headed to the turbolift without a second thought. There really was only so much one could do from the engineering station on the bridge. Besides, who knew what kind of chaos might have broken out down in engineering?! "Deck eleven, main engineering." Shar told the computer once she was inside the lift.

Faith sort of got swept up in all the excitement...at first. It quickly faded as soon as it had come. Why? She honestly didn't know. So much was going on right now. She didn't really suspect that she was needed, so Faith was going to leave the bridge; after all, there was only one helm spot, and the chief was back. But...he was bleeding.
Things had calmed down some now too. Lieutenant Ackon walked up to the helm, and addressed Lieutenant Commander Reinhardt quietly. Or was going to address him quietly.
Lieutenant Mishtak had beaten Faith to it...about getting medical care for the injury upon his head. "The lieutenant is right. You should get some medical attention for that wound. I can take over until you come back." Faith smiled gently, as she has suggested.

"Commander Reinhardt, I recommend you speak to a member of the medical staff and get that wound checked out, I'm fairly certain starfleet frowns on blood stains on the consoles."
"Its just a scratch. I will be fine, no blood is getting on the Console, I am careful Lieutenant Mishtak. It looks a great deal worse than it it, I think. I have never been a good judge of my own injuries. I am not light headed, apparently I am simply a bleeder. Your concern for my well being has been noted. As you were lieutenant." He said as he swiveled around to meet Mishtak's gaze with his own. There was something about him that said that he preferred being spoken to directly as opposed to around the bush.
"The lieutenant is right. You should get some medical attention for that wound. I can take over until you come back."
"Faith, not you too. I thought you would have been on my side." He cursed under his breath and grumbled.
"One crew mate suggesting I go to sick bay for a patch up I can deal with, two is just a loosing battle, and the winners pick their battles carefully. Fine, fine. I hope your both happy, now I am going to sick bay, I blame you for this Lieutenant Mishtak. If you had not said anything I could have kept bleeding in peace. Its good to be back on the ship....I forgot that people cared." He gave a nod to both shaking his finger at faith and walked over to the the turbo lift doors.
"Sick bay you blasted thing." He said with more scowl than request. The doors parted and he took a step in and looked back at faith, once more shook his finger at her. and turned to Mishtak. "You watch her, she'll do the same to you, that ones trouble" And with that finished stepping into the Turbo Lift and headed down to Sick Bay.

"Faith, not you too. I thought you would have been on my side."
"Sorry, not this time." Faith said with a small smile. The lieutenant remembered when he was happier, and it showed that he was almost that way at the moment, but not exactly truly. Larkin was still hurt and she knew it. They had become friends approximately a year ago when all was perfectly great.
When he got up Faith slid into the seat and took over the controls while he yielded and made his way to sickbay. She was happy that he did.
"You watch her, she'll do the same to you, that ones trouble"
Faith lightly laughed to herself, and lightly shook her head. Me? Trouble? "People know better than that."

Post by Lt. JG Lisa Huygens on Mar 19, 2011 13:52:01 GMT -5
Lisa was wondering at Commander Reinhardt's hostility to going to the sickbay for that nasty head wound. The man should relax. People should relax, she thought with an inward sigh. Both Rose and Commander Reinhardt. Speaking of Rose, she wondered how she was doing. Just then, there was a bleep and Rose's voice over the comm. She sounded quite uncertain.
// "Digby to Bridge? Er... the readings may be unreliable, but if we're right, we've found four planets in a system nearby that are at least Class L." // A lot of clausulations made it seem like Rose was afraid to commit herself to anything.
Lisa indicated to Mishtak that she would respond. "Rose?" she said over the comm. "This is Lieutenant Huygens. Good job. I'll tell the Captain once she returns from the Ready Room. In the meantime, see if you two can get us more information." There, she hoped that would make Rose a little more confident.

"The lovely class L planets. Barely hospitable, with a oxygen/argon atmosphere." Faith said with a semi quirky humor. "I remember them well." Truth be told she almost crashed on one once due to her fancy flying. Thankfully no one got hurt. She pressed a few buttons on the helm console. The planets were starting to show up on helm sensors. "They are starting to show up. Looks like Ensign Harper still has the ball on engineering."

The doors to the Bridge open from the Turbo Lift access point A. Out walked Lieutenant Commander Larkin Reinhardt. He head no longer bled and he made his way to the conn station. He saw Faith there and nodded.
"Faith you now stand relieved. However if you wanted to stick around there is another lovely control console there to my right, you and I can make this ship seem like its a vessel made of Continuum essence." He said still straight faced, but with a friendly hand on her shoulder.
"Now my head is nice and shiny again." He said with a little sarcasm. "whats the status report on helm Ackron?" He asked his young friend. He peered over the Conn Console over her shoulder to try and see what he had missed.

// "Er... acknowledge?" "And you give me too much credit. Crewman Vortek did the lion's share of the work. Although for the more detailed work, I'm not sure we could..." She stopped in midsentence. "Do you think another officer could come down here and help us?" //

Lisa patiently waited for Rose's reply, eagerly anticipating it. // "Er... acknowledge?" // came the hesitant voice of the young Ensign over the comm. Lisa was about to declare her plan to teach Ensign Digby some confidence in her work a failure when Rose continued. // "And you give me too much credit. Crewman Vortek did the lion's share of the work. Although for the more detailed work, I'm not sure we could..." // Rose paused, taking time to formulate a coherent sentence, no doubt. // "Do you think another officer could come down here and help us?" //
Lisa first proceeded to disarm Rose's attempt to shove off the credit onto Crewman Vortek. Knowing the Vulcan, she knew he would think it illogical to take credit for doing something on the orders of a superior officer. Of all the Crewmen ever under Digby's supervision, he'd been one of the few who respected the young officer, she knew. It was not in his nature to consider anyone in authority a lightweight. "Knowing him, I don't think Vortek would take so much credit," she replied.
She checked her knowledge of the duty rosters. Everyone was rather busily working in the Science Labs, except... "Lieutenant Denali should be free," she said to Rose over the comm on a reassuring tone. Having an older officer present might make Ensign Digby feel more at ease. "I'll see what I can do for you, Ensign."
She tapped her commbadge. "Huygens to Denali," she said. "I think Ensign Digby could use some help in Astrometrics. Are you free to join her?"

"Faith you now stand relieved. However if you wanted to stick around there is another lovely control console there to my right, you and I can make this ship seem like its a vessel made of Continuum essence."
"As fun as that sounds I don't like to do my flying standing up." Faith replied with a small smirk as she stood to let Larkin have his post back. The statement about the flying standing up was true. On the Intrepid class there was a big space for one helm officer; hence one chair. It had to be the most unique or odd design (whatever word you prefer). Officers that served on Intrepid class vessels often got lost or questioned; 'who designed this ship?' since it was a little twisted in a way...mainly so when it came to crawling through conduits. It just took some getting used to.
"Nice and shiny again Mister Q-ball."
"whats the status report on helm Ackron?"
"We have our navigational sensors fully operational again. And we are still steady at full impulse. And we have come across some L class planets."
"If that's all..."
