Larkin had prepared the room nicely and had it cleaned out, there was even food and drink on the table. He looked around and could not help admire how swiftly he took care of things, though Xena's comments still got under his skin, but thats ok. Tension is running high and shes no warrior. Not like he and Mishtak were, are. Well things here look nice, theres drinks, theres food. And it only took him thirty seven minutes. Seven minutes over the time he made for himself. Only one thing left to do now.

Lisa had heard Mishtak over the intercom and was not aware of all what had happened. She had reconstructed the whole thing: the attack had happened while the Captain was away and Mishtak had assumed command and made a tactical retreat. She came into the briefing room and seated herself.

Larkin turned to Lisa as she entered and took her seat. Larkin tried to give her a friendly smile but he did not feel to happy right now. Not with all that has happened. Well here was the first person. Well excluding himself the first person. He decided to take a seat as well if only to prevent him from pacing which he is sure would have made the younger woman nervous.
"Hello Lieutenant. You alright?" Larkin asked, she did not look like the was hurting physically but you never knew with some people. Some people such as himself was able to hide things really well, save for his eyes, everything he felt could be seen in his eyes, blasted things.

Suroc came into the briefing room and silently took a seat. he nodded to Larkin and Lisa. he looked around seeing no one else there he decided that they must have been the first ones there. The ship had seen better days. He could assume what this was about, but to assume would be illogical so he would wait till he heard the facts. Logic and reason. Those would ensure survival. He looked from Larkin to Lisa then back at Larkin.
"It has been a while since we last spoke..." Suroc noticed the new pips on Larkin's collar. "Commander Reinhardt. How have you been? You seem more logical then the last time we spoke. You have been avoiding me Commander. Though you seem happier, so to whomever you have been conversing with I owe them a thank you. I was concerned for your mental well being for some time. You seem, you seem repaired. It is good to see."
He then turned his attention to Lisa. "Miss Huygens, its been one year, four months and twenty three days since I last saw you. How are you? Well? You look well, by human standards. Are you ok, have I interrupted a deep thought? I shall leave you to your contemplations." Suroc said as he clasped his hands in front of him and rested them barely on the table.

Xena came in and took her seat. She had not been surprised to find Larkin there or Lisa. Lisa had a way of beating just about every senior officer to a briefing. Got to find out her secret. Xena was also thinking that some nice R & R would do the crew some good after this was all over. Usually did after blowing bulkheads. Lisa was likely working on that front too. But what was with the food and drink? This was not the mess hall, and it was a breach of protocol. Xena was tempted to ask where the balloons were but bit her tongue.

Mishtak entered the briefing room, noticed the food and drinks first...
'I thought I said briefing, not dinner party, I was only expecting coffee at most.' He thought, but gave Commander Reinhardt a nod as he passed him.
Also present were Lisa Huygens, Suroc and Xena. Not all of his department heads nor all the senior staff, he hoped the others had not been injured, but enough to get things started.
He sat in the captain's chair at the head of the table, much like he had seen Picard do in the historical documentaries, and leaned back slightly.
"I assume you all know why we are here, but just in case you do not I will sum up briefly. First, the away team's shuttle was lost from our sensors. Second, we were attacked by an unknown hostile force. And finally we have retreated to a safe distance in order to make necessary repairs to the ship and her systems. I called this meeting to hash out ideas with all departments and see if we can't come up with some better plans to get our lost crewmen back."
He let that all sink in for a bit, he knew Lisa was probably the only one here that didn't know all the details as she was not on the bridge, and Suroc probably had been filled in by multiple patients.
"I would like to wait for everyone else to arrive before we begin discussions, so let's give the other senior officers a few more minutes to arrive..."
Again he hoped none were injured or worse. He found himself worried about Sharpay, she was usually on time to these things. As for the Doctor, he was never one for punctuality so he would probably wonder in late whether they were under attack or not.
He poured himself a cup of Raktajino from one of the pitchers and sipped it lightly, he figured no one had been able to relax in a while and they would need to relax at least a little bit before the heated discussions began.
"Have some refreshments, after all if we don't conserve our energy we wont be of any use to the away team."
He settled back a little more and simply watched the reactions of the other officers...

Sharpay walked through the doors. The sleeve edges on the right were slightly singed, she had a minor cut on her left cheek, and a few hairs had come out of place. She tucked the few loose strands of blonde hair behind her ear. Frankly, she looked a bloody mess.
"What's all this crap doing in the briefing room?" Sharpay said slightly irritated, as well as annoyed as she just let herself plop into her chair. "And if anyone blames it on elves or gremlins you do not want to talk to me after." No need to say Ensign Harper was in quite a bad mood. "Now. What'd I miss?"

He watched Sharpay enter and noticed the burned sleeve and cut on her cheek, he was glad to see she was still in one piece...
"What's all this crap doing in the briefing room?"
and he was glad she was still her normal everyday self too...
"And if anyone blames it on elves or gremlins you do not want to talk to me after."
elves and gremlins, wow... He realized just how bad a day she had been having...
"Now. What'd I miss?"
He sat up a little bit...
"You missed us losing the away team and retreating from a fight we could not win and now we are dressing our wounds to return for our comrades..."
He looked around with a raised eyebrow as if if to ask 'did I miss anything?' as he sank back into his seat to await more of the senior staff...
"...we are also waiting for everyone else to arrive, judging by your appearance I can only guess what the others have had to deal with on their way through the debris."
He wondered how long it was going to take to clean up after the repairs were made, but what would be the point? Returning to the scene of the fight will cause another battle, more damage and who knows what else...

'I thought I said briefing, not dinner party, I was only expecting coffee at most.'
"Well Sir I thought given all the crap thats happened a little refreshment would help with our own personal morale. After all if the Senior Staff which is supposed to lead by example is feeling like slug than we're not going to be able to help anyone" Larkin stated.
"What's all this crap doing in the briefing room?"
"This crap Miss Harper is for you to eat and drink and lift your spirit, hell last time I do anything nice for you ingrates..." continues cursing under his breath. He poured himself a glass of simple water, and drank it. Then refilled his glass. He then glowered at the rest of the table for several minutes and then got up and began removing items from the table silently.

"This crap Miss Harper is for you to eat and drink and lift your spirit, hell last time I do anything nice for you ingrates..."
"I never said that I was ingreatful for your hard work. You clearly put thought and and good will into this gesture of kindness. But your actions not are illogical human defensive postures that will only serve to agitate your fellow crewman and officers. So stop putting things away, sit down, and use the logic and reason you were given." Suroc totally served him up but in that emotionless voice he has that only made the burn have more sting.

"This crap Miss Harper is for you to eat and drink and lift your spirit, hell last time I do anything nice for you ingrates..."
Sharpay did not much care for his tone of voice, or what he had called the whole senior staff. Ingrates. How could this man possibly be fit for duty again?! It was very, very difficult for Sharpay not to retaliate with sharp words of her own. Mishtak would know this as a fact, considering they were in a relationship.
Thankfully Suroc spoke up; even though Shar was muttering Klingon curse words in her mind.
"...we are also waiting for everyone else to arrive, judging by your appearance I can only guess what the others have had to deal with on their way through the debris."
I always thought you liked my appearance.
"Well, if they crashed I have no doubt that Lieutenant Commander Romilly can get the shuttle in the air again, despite how difficult he can be to work with." Sharpay commented. Romilly was a bright engineer as far as fixing things were concerned; other things, well she was not so sure about. "And according to the Starfleet medical database one of Tiho's hosts was a full fledged doctor so any wounds can be taken care of."
Ensign Harper thought a bit more on the situation at hand. "If we were to go back, once fully operational again I might be able to at least get their ion trail using a less than Starfleet approved method. But we would have to be able to enter a low atmosphere."
"I also think I might be able to convert the deflector dish to act as a weapon as well as a lighting rod with Lieutenant Xena's assistance in engineering; just in case we run into hostile forces again."

Elise walked in and looked around at everyone else in the room. “Sorry, bit of a mess on deck 5” Elise walked to the first open chair and sat down with a small smile on her face looking over some of the food. Just like the Vella Cava. Both Lieutenant Garnd General Tyronian liked to have food at staff meetings.
Something to eat would be good now. More so with just having taken medication Elise would need to get something in her but she didn’t see anything she wanted.

He found it interesting that she had read so much of their files, he then wondered if he had left his PaDD on the table again, or if he had left his terminal on, or if he had somehow left the files available elsewhere... or if she was just that good...
"If we were to go back, once fully operational again I might be able to at least get their ion trail using a less than Starfleet approved method. But we would have to be able to enter a low atmosphere."
Less than Starfleet approved, how did he know that one was coming.
"If less than Starfleet approved is what we need than so be it, it's not like Starfleet command is going to do anything about it anytime soon."
It would take about seventy years for a regular subspace message to get back although he was unsure how quickly a message could pass through the Rathren wormhole, or what else could be sent and received either.
"I also think I might be able to convert the deflector dish to act as a weapon as well as a lighting rod with Lieutenant Xena's assistance in engineering; just in case we run into hostile forces again."
"Hopefully our weapons will be enough, but make it so just in case."
“Sorry, bit of a mess on deck 5”
The Intel Officer arrived, he was hoping she'd be here. He had served with several Intel officers and was aware that the Assistant Chief of Operations was a former Intel Officer. He was going to need her to perform a very specific task at the moment.
"Agent Triad, I have a specific task for you..."
He was sure she would question this as most Intel officers reported certain things to the captain but kept alot to themselves unless specifically asked for the intel.
"...I need you to review our records of the encounter with the hostile ship, I know you plan to anyway, but I need a full analysis A.S.A.P. on their capabilities and tactics. If any can be determined from our small encounter. I want to know any weaknesses we can exploit in order to end the confrontation quickly."
He leaned back in his seat again, sipped his drink and thought briefly.
"We also need to be prepared for a situation in which we are outnumbered when we arrive, we do not know how many ships they may have called in once we left..."
He sighed and his body seemed to sink slightly with defeat as he finished his statement slightly under his breath...
"...I wish we knew more about what we were up against."

Less than Starfleet approved... I better not look when she does that work. Xena thought when Ensign Harper gave off what she could do. How odd she'd need a security officers help with it. Then again, Xena did have a level five in engineering, not to mention security codes, which she was sure Sharpay could trip if she wanted to.
Mishtak also dished out some orders to their Intel officer. What that woman came up with would be interesting to know.
Hector, I hope you're behaving yourself! Now where did that come from?! Ah! Sooner this briefing was over the better. Just sitting here was not doing her a bit of good. Work. What was it about idle hands again? Besides, at some point she still had some quarters to break into.

“I can have a partial report for you within an hour. It is my understanding that sensors were not online for the attack. With this in mine you will need to understand that any tactical options I provide will be based off of observations of the ship during the attack and the moments leading up to it.” Elise leaned over and took an apple from the bowl in front of her. This should help Elise’s stomach was starting to feel a bit shaken. never did like any type of medication
