"Commander's log, Stardate [goes here]. Today is our first challenge in the Delta Quadrant. The Myenn are coming with the Rathren and we are to mediate between the two. I've been up studying the files Ambassador Mirax has been sending me."
Although he didn't record it, Arthur had decided he'd let Mirax handle most of the mediation. The Myenn sure seemed to be a little difficult to deal with: exceedingly proud, sophisticated and very particular about almost everything. Add to that the fact that their planetary government was a loose coalition of states much like Earth's European Union and it was sure to give even Cadfael a headache. Better that his Diplomatic Officer was put in charge a bit. It was time to be off to the meeting as soon as the Rathren arrived with the Myenn, and there was one formality to observe: dress uniform.
Arthur had brought it to his Ready Room the same morning, for he had no intention to go back to his quarters for it. Sealing the door of his Ready Room was enough to protect him from people (especially Celeste) walking in at the wrong moment. Putting on his gold-accented dress uniform, trying to do something about his hair, he was preparing for the meeting. Walking over to the mirror, he looked into it and he knew all was right.
// Chambers to Commander Ashbury. The Rathren and Myenn have arrived, sir. //
Why can't he stop sirring me in every ruddy sentence? "Acknowledge. Tell them to dock at Pier One."
"Right," he said. "Computer, unlock." He pressed his commbadge. "All Senior Staff, our guests have arrived. Please report to Pier One."
End Arthur - Move to Piers
