Krymerik zh'Loran's Personal log
Tactical and Security Chief
Stardate: 65075
I find myself in a time where things are starting to mean more. My friends, my family, even little things as clothes and my Ushaan blade, which goes with me everywhere I go. Some find the upholding of tradition a tedious and wasteful affair but the pinkskins were certainly right with a certain phrase; blood is thicker than water. A Vulcan would probably take that for its literal meaning whereas we Andorians, who share much in common and yet remain so different, can appreciate the somewhat more vague a meaning.
I am unsure of Benedict was right in recommending me here to be Orion's Tactical and Security Chief. It is strange to assume a such a position and I will also be third in command. I hear the First Officer is a Klingon or hybrid of some sort. Should be interesting. I don't take much stock in Klingons and the only one I have ever come to respect is Worf, who is still on the Enterprise. I only met him a few times, he is ever the quiet warrior and yet when there is something he is passionate in defending... well, I'm glad he is with the Federation, for which Andoria was a founding member.
It's uncanny. As a youth, I never thought I'd miss much, but I have mellowed and much has happened since then. I have grown taller, as father would have said. I miss my family, Thanos not so much as he is with me wherever I go. I am thankful Starfleet allow family on board or I would not have accepted the promotion and transfer. I miss the Titan too. Ah, yes, the Titan. I must send a communique to Dorian, my old CO. Yes, Benedict. Such a weird fellow but is he is a good friend to me. Perhaps, more but that is another matter entirely. Riker too, he makes for a damned good commander and even though I know a reason as to the why, it still amazes me he didn't accept a command sooner. Wouldn't have had those pesky Romulans to deal with then.
But then, Donatra was decent for a Romulan.
Thanos is adjusting slowly without the reassurance of his friend back on the Titan. He's missing people too, so I find solace in the knowledge I am not the only one out there. he's very dear to me. Very dear. He keeps staring out any window or port he can set eyes out through. I will have to find something to placate him with... with what I haven't a clue. A pet perhaps but he'll only want a native of Andoria.
I'm going to miss Deanna too. She kept insisting on me calling her by her first name. I think she's sent me something... didn't get much of a chance through all the packing. I am writing this as we're waiting to be let on the Orion. She doesn't look that bad. I am biased but that's just me.
