Captain Prince had swiftly made her way to the transporter room where she'd be saying goodbye and hello to a few officers. She also be saying goodbye to their Klingon passengers, but officers first.
As she prepared herself a message for Captain Prince appeared on the console of the on duty crewman at the transporter controls. He called Lydia over and she stepped up to read the message.
Apparently she'd not only be greeting officers, but saying hello to a young girl by request. Alright then...
Lydia looked to the crewman. "Energize when ready." She said as she stepped back down to the edge of the transporter.

Mekor bid farewell to those he'd known on the Orion, especially to the captain. He looked both excited and sad, though his attention fell upon a certain other Cardassian, a man who, once he was on-board, approached the captain. "Captain Prince," he said. "I am Commander Simarel Kell - your new Chief of Security." Tag Prince/Any((If there's any problems with it I can fix it. You...shouted at me. And shouting is mean. It makes me want to adblock the chatbox.))

After her goodbyes to her chief of science Lydia smiled at the arrival of her new officer whom inroduced himself as Simarel Kell. Captain Prince extended her hand in greeting and in friendship. "Nice to meet you commander. I hope your journey and stay at the starbase was a good one."
The transporter console beeped and grabbed Lydia's attention. "The other is ready for transport." Lydia gave a nod of her head and watched as a young girl materalized on the transporter. Didn't suspect extra passanger meant a child. Lydia thought a she gave Commander Kell a nod before going over to the young one.
"Hello. I'm Captain Prince." Lydia extended her hand to the girl. "Can you excuse me for just a moment?"
Lydia turned back to Kell. "I'm not sure if you've been apprised of our Klingon predicament. They should be beamed to the starbase as soon a possible. I'll understand if you'd like to go to your quarters first. If that's the case I'll take you there personally, as long as you don't mind extra company."

After materializing on the platform Lilly looked around. Her blue eyes darting here and there. Presently there were three officers in the room. She readjusted the strap on her shoulder that was attached to a small bag that held what little possessions she had. The captain had come over.
"Hello. I'm Captain Prince."
"Hello Captain." Lilly replied with a smile. She watched as the captain appeared to go back to business. A million thoughts went through Lilly's mind. Most had to do with what she should do and if she should say anything. Though uncertain, Lilly stepped down off the transporter platform.

"I prefer to care care of the situation at hand captain." Kell replied. He took leave of the transporter room and gathered security personnel to aid the Klingons in removing their presence from the Orion to the starbase and apprising the base of the situation. Captain Prince of course approved of his actions, and with Kell doing his job Lydia now had the chance to deal with their youngest passenger.
"I don't believe I got your name." Captain Prince said to the young girl. She wondered what her story was, but was certain she'd find out soon enough.

Captain Prince turned back to her after the Cardassian had left. Lilly was still a little uncertain how everything was going to go, but the captain had asked her name. Had it not been sent over as well? Maybe the woman just wanted to get to know her.
"Lillian Daniels ma'am." Lilly replied respectfully.

// Lieutenant-Commander Hughes to Orion. Permission to come aboard? // asked Christian through his combadge, rather formally. The reply came: // Orion to Hughes. Permission granted. //
After the transporters had energised, Chris found himself in a room with a Bajoran-looking girl, a Cardassian with Commander Rank in the Security Division (judging by his uniform), and a woman who must be the Captain of the Orion, Lydia Prince. Stepping off the transporter pad, Christian formally greeted the Captain:
"Captain Lydia Prince, I presume?" he said. "Lieutenant-Commander Christian Hughes, reporting for duty as your new Second Officer and Chief Operations Officer."

Lydia's attention was redirected from the young girl to another Starfleet officer. He introduced himself as Christian Hughes, her Chief Operations officer. Finally... Captain Prince thought. Perhaps she'd get the rest of her crew here and now. She gave the commander a friendly welcoming smile.
"You presume correctly." Lydia said as she extended her right hand to Hughes for a hand shake. "It's nice to meet you, and welcome aboard." Lydia took a quick glance at Lillian. She figured now would be a good time to introduce the girl, she was here, and it would have been rude not to. "This here is Lillian Daniels." Now back to business...
"At the moment the crew is having some down time before we depart. You might want to use this time to get settled and familiarize yourself with your station on the bridge." Lydia paused just a moment. "If you wish I could get Commander McNight or another operations officer to fill you in on what has happened prior to your arrival."
"Ensign Harper can give you a run down of our new systems if you desire. Personally I've always found it more helpful to be introduced to the ships systems instead of just reading about them."

Christian thought about it for a minute. He thought about it for one more minute. Then he came to the conclusion that he'd probably feel more comfortable with a book. He needed some time to himself, and where else than at the Ops Station could he achieve this? "No, thank you, Captain," he said. "I need some time to myself, but I'll gladly use it to familiarise myself with my station." Then he hesitantly added. "You know about my functional disability, do you?"
He doubted that the Captain wouldn't have been informed of his Asperger's Syndrome. After all, it was on his record. As long as everything went fine, Chris was a superb Operations Officer.

"As you wish, just make sure that you get up to snuff." Captain Prince replied. Just so long as he knew his job, and their mission Lydia was pretty much alright with however he wanted to go about learning about the Orion's' special systems that had been installed for their mission. The ship was unique in the way that it had been installed with a few devices other Starfleet vessels weren't.
Although upon hearing him ask is she knew about his functional disability Lydia was somewhat caught off guard. She hadn't been expecting a question like that, nor did anyone really ever volunteer personal medical history...at least she suspected it to be medical.
"No actually. I've gone over a few of the personnel files, but I haven't dived into the medical transcript if that's what you're referring to. I'm sure the history has been sent to the ships doctor. Why do you ask?"

Christian simply nodded to acknowledge the Captain's request that he get up to snuff. After all, Starfleet had provided him with all the manuals for the systems, even the specialised systems on the Orion. An average officer would have a hard time getting up to snuff in such a short time, but Christian, even though he never liked to think so, was not your average officer.
"It's not exactly medical," he said to the Captain about his Asperger's Syndrome. "In fact, it would probably be something for the Counsellor; I'm sure she/he (OOC: don't know the NPC Counsellor's gender) can help me if I ever need it. I just prefer the Senior Staff, those I work with immediately, to know, because Asperger's is a social and organisational impairment. Because I've got a light form of it, I probably won't have much trouble adjusting to the situation, but understanding can help."
He explained to the Captain briefly that in him, Asperger's Syndrome meant that he had trouble planning and organising his own time (unless, like with the Shift System, it was organised for him) and that it might impair his functioning in a group (although teamwork had never been a problem throughout his Stafleet career). He also explained that in the case of serious deviation from personal planning and expectation, he might panic.
"However, I assure you that it will not be a problem," he said. "I've been counselled on it since I was diagnosed at age 8 and 4 months and I have learned how to compensate for most of it. This is simply just in case."
He waited for the Captain to respond.

Captain Prince crossed her arms as she listened to her second in command explain about his "impairment" as he called it. Lydia had never met anyone before that set them apart from everyone else before making them a truly unique one of a kind individual, and it may have bothered or worried some people but Lydia just simply figured that if he could get through Starfleet Academy, and earned his rank and position that his 'specialness' would not be too much of a problem.
"Well commander, I appreciate you being upfront about this. And I believe you when you say it will not be a problem. I doubt your record would be impressive if it were, but if you do start to feel overwhelmed or panicked about a situation just take a breather and keep me and the Counselor informed, okay?"

"Okay," said Christian happily, reminding himself to look at the Captain as he smiled. "Thanks for understanding, Captain. I think we've both got business to attend to, though, so if you need me, I'll be at my station." With those words, he made for the door of the Transporter Room, stepped into the nearest Turbolift and said "Bridge".

The captain had been pulled away yet again. Starfleet captains were certainly very busy people. To be honest Lilly didn't exactly know why one would want to be a captain. She was more interested in serving under others, that was if she was a Starfleet officer. Lilly tried not to listen to the conversation that took place between the two, but it was a little difficult not to as the room was small. At least things worked out. All that needed to be done now was get her piece out of the way with Captain Prince then everything and everyone could go about their routine business.

"Well now, where were we..." Lydia quickly racked her brain. Apparently they hadn't got too far from introduction. "I remember. Why don't we step out of the transporter room and get you to your quarters. After that I'd like you to report to sickbay, let the doctor look you over, and have an officer inform me afterwards." Lydia said to Lilly as the two walked out of the transporter room to the quarters Lilly would be calling hers.
On the way Captain Prince had learn all the information she needed to know. She was quite sad about the young girl having had lost her parents. Life was just at times not very fair. However Lydia gave the girl permission to see her anytime she felt like she needed to talk, and requested of her to prepare a list of things she might like to do. Everyone had to pull their own weight around here, besides that it might prove to be a nice distraction.
After the two arrived they said their 'goodbyes' in a manner of speaking. "I'll be on the bridge."
End Lydia & Lilly.
