"Afraid? Me? "Are you forgetting that I risked my life to help save your sorry... I'll show you afraid."
That's the spirit he thought...
"Ensign, scan away. If you or the doc don't do it I will."
"Saved me? I recall you throwing yourself at a monster, that I had well under control i might add, and getting your leg broken in the process..."
the fight he had picked in order to get her checked out by the doc was growing rather rapidly into something he had not thought would happen in a semi-public setting such as sickbay...
"And you are so a coward. You won't even... do something because of your father and the council. Because you care too much what they think, and what you think!"
He groaned silently, she had to bring that up again... truth be told he had never even considered taking a mate, mainly because there were too few women that could put up with him and even fewer women he felt were worth the time and effort... although he also felt that he might have actually met his match. His father would never approve, his brother was married to a human woman and Kabarann had never been happy about it, of course he didn't find out about it until after they had been married for several months, via long range communication as opposed to in person as it should have been done... he was torn with not knowing what to do, he had never wanted to let his father down, and at the same time he wanted very much to be with Sharpay... it was very confusing for him...
"As far as the Borg...you just chopped them up into little tiny pieces and packed them into a can?"
"There were no cans, the remains were simply beamed into space..."
"You men always talk a big game. If I was part of that battle I bet I would have scored more corpses than you."
"I can not say if that would be the case or not, perhaps the holodeck will help us decide the victor of Borg body counts..."
'I think I just came up with a new holodeck program, gonna have to see if I can get the computer to program that one in time for us to use it before our dinner date.' he had way too much on his mind...
"So...in other words you were wrong and I was right." She smiled as she twisted a blond strand of hair around her finger. "I knew you'd see things my way eventually."
he was reminded of a star fleet history lesson he had once had where a famous admiral, McCoy I think it was, always referred to his friend as 'damned insufferable' yea, that about fit Sharpay too, at least in this instance...
"I will allow you to believe that this time, but do not get into the habit of thinking you are always right. There will be times in our future when you must accept that you can be wrong..."
their future together... what a thought, he hoped he was right about them having a future together... he certainly liked the idea of it, he just wasn't entirely sure how the blond spitfire would fit into the House of Morag, his brother's wife had never even tried to fit in though... maybe that is what bothered him, the feeling that she might not want to try and fit in with his family, he was rather certain he would not fit in with her family... he wasn't even sure she still spoke to her adopted family... he'd not mention that and instead let her bring it up as he did not want to spark a real major fight just yet, after all their relationship wasn't quite official yet...

Post by Crewman Janet Chan on Jul 13, 2010 19:22:40 GMT -5
The doors to sickbay slid open with a hiss and most of the hazard team entered, followed a few minutes later by the rest of them... Chan walked over to one of the medics in the area...
"Excuse me, medic... we just returned from an away mission to the dark matter ship, we need to be checked out and cleared before we can return to duty and down time..."
she hoped they could get all nine of them out in a hurry, normally there would be ten but Xena had been on a different mission, so there were just the eight others and herself...
Crewman Chan sat on the nearest bio bed and waited for someone to run a medical tricorder over her and send her on her way so she could finish her report and get some sleep. She didn't know about the others, but for some reason she was feeling more tired than normal, maybe it was just all of the excitement from the mission...
she spotted Mishtak in another section of sickbay, he appeared to have taken off the top of his uniform and the doctor was doing something strange to him, she also saw the Engineering Ensign next to him, they seemed to be engaged in some witty banter back and forth, though she could not make out all of it, so she settled on reading Harper's lips for now and chuckling to herself ever now and then...

"Saved me? I recall you throwing yourself at a monster, that I had well under control i might add, and getting your leg broken in the process..."
"I didn't throw myself at anything." Shar protested. "And you did not! If I hadn't intervened you would have been someones grub. Getting a broken leg is just a small price."
"There were no cans, the remains were simply beamed into space..."
Shar rolled her eyes. "Don't you even have one funny or sarcastic bone in that body of yours?" Oy.
"You'll allow me to believe? Oh I feel so honored. Thank you your majesty." Shar crossed her arms. "You don't own me. So don't tell me what to do, say, act, or think."
"You also aren't my mother or father, not that you are acting like either of them. But I'm not a little girl or servant to be bossed around." Shar got off the biobed. "That reminds me, I promised them I'd write once a week and transmit until we are out of range."
Sharpay smiled at Mishtak. "Don't worry, I'll be sure to tell them all about you in my letter. Who knows, maybe you'll end up getting your own mail from them..."

Trish was glad that she had decided to block her telepathic mind for just the regular banter between the two officers were starting to give her a little headache. Aye, yi, yi.... Trishany quickly finished up Mishtak's treatment. It hadn't taken all that long at all though it did sort of feel that way...most likely due to the lieutenant and ensign acting like husband and wife.
"You're all finished here lieutenant." Trish announced as she pressed the button to make the sides of the bed go down. "You now have a clean bill of health." Trish stepped to the side and began adding to his medical file as she waved a few medics in the direction of the little posse that just came into sickbay.

Mary Anne had done a scan of Ensign Harper at forceful request. She had not picked up anything unusual from the young engineer, well not medically anyway. She just thought it unusual for her or anyone to be argumentivate with anyone in sickbay except for the doctors, medics, and nurses. "You're just fine, ensign." Mary Anne reported.
She then left the side of the bed to see to the new arrivals.
"What was it like over on that ship?" Mary Anne asked curiously as she began to scan the officers one by one.

"I didn't throw myself at anything... and you did not! If I hadn't intervened you would have been someones grub. Getting a broken leg is just a small price."
"I still say I could have taken it down on my own, you risked your life needlessly..."
"Don't you even have one funny or sarcastic bone in that body of yours?"
"I am certain I have several... if they are still intact, they may have been broken by a mighty fall..."
"You'll allow me to believe? Oh I feel so honored. Thank you your majesty. You don't own me. So don't tell me what to do, say, act, or think."
yep, he hit a nerve, bleep fool, he should have known better... unless this is what he was aiming for, to get her all riled up again... he found her very attractive when she was angry, though he also found her attractive when she was not angry, though the later seemed to occur only rarely... perhaps she was peaceful in her sleep...
"You also aren't my mother or father, not that you are acting like either of them. But I'm not a little girl or servant to be bossed around. That reminds me, I promised them I'd write once a week and transmit until we are out of range."
there it was, she does keep in touch with them, as best as they can he supposed, after all in a short time communications with earth would become increasingly less often and take longer to travel back and forth... at least until some kind of rely was set up in the delta quadrant...
"Don't worry, I'll be sure to tell them all about you in my letter. Who knows, maybe you'll end up getting your own mail from them..."
"Mail from your family... something along the lines of 'keep your hands off our little girl?' perhaps?"
well, that did it, cat is now totally out of the bag so to speak... if the others hadn't picked up on it before they certainly would now...
"You're all finished here lieutenant. You now have a clean bill of health."
"Thank you Doctor." He said as he began to sit up, he retrieved the top of his uniform and got dressed for duty, making sure everything was properly adjusted and such, he then followed Shar towards the door and stopping by Crewman Chan...
"Chan, I look forward to reading your report on the Dark Matter ship... you have handled yourself well... carry on."
He did not need to tell her he wold be putting in a promotion request on her behalf, he felt she had advanced as far as a crewman could and was ready to be promoted to Ensign. This whole command thing was new to him, he was expecting to have a senior officer to report to but instead she had vanished, leaving him to act as the department head, which meant Xena was now treated as the deputy making Chan higher on the list than her rank allowed for... If the Captain promoted him to Chief he would be putting in the request to have Xena promoted to Assistant Chief, as she was the best suited for the position at the current time...
He left the Hazard team to their check-ups and made his way out into the hall, where he waited for the doors to shut, to allow him some alone time with Sharpay before returning to the bridge...

"Chan, I look forward to reading your report on the Dark Matter ship... you have handled yourself well... carry on."
"Thank you sir, I do my best. The reports should be on Lt. Xena's desk by 0600hrs Sir. Thank you again Sir."
She was always a little nervous talking to the Lieutenants... both Xena and Mishtak were kinda scary in her eyes... Xena was one of the toughest humans Janet had ever met and Mishtak... well, he was a Klingon through and through... it was as if nothing phased him... with the recent exception of Ensign Harper, but Janet was going to keep all that to herself, after all, it's none of her business...
"What was it like over on that ship?"
She turned her attention back on the Ensign examining her...
"It was... different, to say the least... their engineering department was similar enough, as was the bridge, but the language... that took some time to decipher in order to control the ship... that was after we had to take control by force though... shootout in engineering, prisoners in the Captain's ready room... it was... fun."
yes, fun... she had Captain's Kirk mentality when it came to having fun in near death situations, she had decided a long time ago she would die one of two ways, one was with her boots on and the other was while having fun, she figured she couldn't lose that way...

"It was not needlessly, it was helpful, and, well, kinda fun. And you didn't fall, you were flicked." Shar demonstraighted with her hand. Her index finger sweeping swiftly across her thumb. "Like a speck of dirt." Shar couldn't help the comment of comparing it to dirt. She found she rather enjoyed teasing him. Why? Well, sometimes he'd get wrild up, and it was just kinda funny, well to her it was.
"Mail from your family... something along the lines of 'keep your hands off our little girl?' perhaps?"
"No." Sharpay tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "My mother is a hopeless romantic. I think that might be the Betazed side. Her letters usually require a mop as they drip with 'dear', 'darling', 'sweetie', and tons of sentimental mumbo jumbo as well as good advice. She might write something along the lines of 'You seems like a nice man for our sweetie pie.'" Shar then collasped her hands together. "'So, when do you plan on getting married?'"
"Dad on the other hand would want to know about your backround, occupation, and stuff like that. If I'm not mistaken one of his good buddies is Klingon and the other is Bajoran. Dad is the 'interviwer', and proctor of the family. He'd want to know the ins and outs to make sure his princess is safe."
Shar interlaced her fingers with Mishtak's as she held his hand. He already spilled the beans, no use covering anything up. Not a secret anymore.
Sharpay laughed lightly. "Ya know, the son of dads Klingon friend wanted to date me once. Throwing a knife at him so close to his head cutting off some hair didn't seem to discourage him any so I set a trap and he ended up hanging upside down by one foot. After telling him off I just left him hanging there. I slept well that night."
Shar walked out the door. "So, where to?"
End Shar-Tag Mishtak-Move to wherever.

"It was not needlessly, it was helpful, and, well, kinda fun. And you didn't fall, you were flicked. Like a speck of dirt."
"Either way, it is in the past now..."
He could tell she was getting some enjoyment out of this, but it was probably best to let it drop...
"No. My mother is a hopeless romantic. I think that might be the Betazed side. Her letters usually require a mop as they drip with 'dear', 'darling', 'sweetie', and tons of sentimental mumbo jumbo as well as good advice. She might write something along the lines of 'You seems like a nice man for our sweetie pie. 'So, when do you plan on getting married?'"
"So your mother is overwhelmed by the emotions? Married... she would ask that, we have just started... we do not yet know if this will lead to that yet..."
OK, so he was kinda flustered by the thought of marriage, it really was too soon to think about that... then again her mother being Betazed would explain the leap from dating to marriage in the course of one transmission... he would just have to wait and see ow her family reacted... he was not looking forward to his family's reaction...
"Dad on the other hand would want to know about your background, occupation, and stuff like that. If I'm not mistaken one of his good buddies is Klingon and the other is Bajoran. Dad is the 'interviewer', and proctor of the family. He'd want to know the ins and outs to make sure his princess is safe."
"I am certain that I would prefer talking to your father than your mother..."
He held her hand in his as they walked...
"A trap, because he wanted to date you..." Mishtak looked around quickly, wondering if she had even had the time to prepare such a snare for him yet...
"So, where to?"
He looked at the chronometer on the computer terminal outside of sickbay, he was officially off duty now...
"How about the Holodeck? Although I would like to stop by my quarters and change clothes first... if you are up to it with that cast on..."
he did not want to wear his uniform into a workout program, nor did he wish to keep on the dirty uniform he had been wearing this whole time... and he figured Shar would want to change her clothing as well

Mary Anne nodded every now and again as she scanned and listened.
"Fun?" Well, different people had different ideas of what fun was to them. Apparently in this case it differed. "Sounds like it'd be a little scary to me. But I suppose that why we have all of you, to be bop around with the case sensitive fun." Mary Anne said with a smile.
"You all seem to check out okay." Mary Anne closed up the medical tricorder.

Janet smiled at the ensign...
"Well, Hazard is kinda in the job description, but if we didn't do it who would right? Besides, fun, scary, exciting... they all come from the same experiences..." "You all seem to check out okay."
"Thanks a bunch Doc."
Jumping off the bio bed Chan looked at the rest of her group
"Okay Hazard team, dismissed... again... have a nice break."
she then waved to Mary Anne as she exited sickbay, off to her quarters for a nice relaxing shower and then a much needed nap...

Now with everyone out of sickbay Trishany ordered a clean up of the place. Naturally she'd help too. She was just happy everything was over with. Actually, she was pretty sure everyone was. After sickbay was cleaned up and disinfected Trishany took to her quarters to rest up.
End Trish.
