"Either way, it is in the past now..."
Shar smiled and kissed him on the cheek. No one was looking.
"So your mother is overwhelmed by the emotions? Married... she would ask that, we have just started... we do not yet know if this will lead to that yet..."
"Yes, she would. Sometimes I think she's way too open about things." Sharpay giggled, yes giggled. "Is dating too hard of a word for you to say? Do I need to teach you the pronoucation and defination of the word?"
"I am certain that I would prefer talking to your father than your mother..."
"I had a feeling you might." Sharpay said. Men usually preferred talking to her father. They were just more comfortable around him. Well, unless they were Betazed men. They could easily talk and get along with both her parents without feeling a bit awkward. Though both her parents were the type to welcome anyone into the fold.
"A trap, because he wanted to date you..."
"Don't worry. I only did that because I did not want to date him."
"How about the Holodeck? Although I would like to stop by my quarters and change clothes first... if you are up to it with that cast on..."
"I'm up for anything. Don't try and baby me." Shar then gently tugged his arm while holding his hand. "Let's go." She hurried off in the direction of his quarters. She decided she could change there too.
When they got there Sharpay pushed the override buttons so she could hurry in first. Letting go of his hand she replicated herself a red tank with black jean short shorts. She quickly changed in the bathroom, putting her hair in an up poney tail as the finish change. "Ready to go? We can site to site."

"Yes, she would. Sometimes I think she's way too open about things." Sharpay giggled, yes giggled. "Is dating too hard of a word for you to say? Do I need to teach you the pronunciation and definition of the word?"
"No, it's just that..."
He paused, trying to think of the best way to put this...
"... It's just that we have not actually made anything official between us, are we dating, are we a couple or are we just friends experimenting with the possibilities of more..."
He wasn't sure what he was saying anymore... every time she kissed him it sent powerful feelings throughout his body, and he rather enjoyed it...
"I guess my problem is that I do not know exactly where we stand on things."
"I had a feeling you might."
"Are you saying your mother will be difficult to talk to, or just focused on the emotional aspects?"
"Don't worry. I only did that because I did not want to date him."
"Who's worried?" He was no longer looking around for the hidden traps...
"I'm up for anything. Don't try and baby me. Let's go."
"I will not 'baby' you as you put it, but I do not want you to injure yourself further. it would do no good to have you stuck in sickbay."
She practically dragged him to his own quarters, where she opened his door and slipped into his bathroom, good thing he hadn't left it a mess when he went on duty... good thing his change of clothes were in the bedroom and not the bathroom for a change as well. He went into his room and removed his uniform, starting with his sash of honor. He then changed into his exercise outfit, a pair of loose fitting baggy pants and a black sleeveless shirt, he then put on a pair of exercise shoes and waited for her to come out...
he had to force his eyes to stay in his skull when he saw what she was wearing, or rather, what she wasn't... her skimpy outfit left almost nothing to the imagination and seeing her made his hearts skip a few beats...
"Ready to go? We can site to site."
"Umm... Yes, I am ready, just let me grab..." he looked around and found his black case, it was long enough for a Bat'leth, but wide enough to carry four of them. "Now I am ready, the holodeck replicates decent weapons, but I prefer to use my own... the weight is never quite right with the replicated ones."
He went over to the terminal and requested a site to site transport for the two of them from his quarters to the holodeck, he also had the computer prepare a special training program for them when they arrived...
after re-materializing on the holodeck, they could see the program he had ordered, they were on a planet of such great beauty it was breathtaking, he set his case on a rock outcropping at the base of the cliff that extended high above them, and opened it. From the case he removed two Bat'leths and several smaller blade weapons of various shapes and sizes (one looked exactly like the knife he had used on the planet). He set them out on the rock, and took his prized bat'leth in his hands.
"I won many tournaments with this Bat'leth... choose any weapon you wish, if you are not familiar with it, I will gladly show you how to use it."
He held his Bat'leth out to show that it too was up for her choosing, and that was rare indeed, even if she did not know it, the only other person to ever hold this weapon had been his grandfather, Morag, son of Tre'gok... it had been a gift when he came of age, if she chose it she would be the first person he had ever let touch it after it was given to him...

"No, it's just that..." "... It's just that we have not actually made anything official between us, are we dating, are we a couple or are we just friends experimenting with the possibilities of more..."
Sharpay let out a sigh and gave one of the most typical Human female responces. "If you don't know I'm not going to tell you." She personal figured he should know. Sharpay was not the type of girl that just went around kissing men just for kicks. And she was also picky about who she choose to spend her time with. She was not a tramp of any nature. Although the very few Betazoid clothes in her closet might say differently, but that was a different matter.
Shar watched and waited as Mishtak grabbed the weapons from his quarters. Why was she not surprised that he liked his own better. Well, truth be told she was somewhat like that when it came to engineering tools. Not soon after they were on the holodeck. The place was beautiful.
"I won many tournaments with this Bat'leth... choose any weapon you wish, if you are not familiar with it, I will gladly show you how to use it."
"Well good for you." Shar commented as she folded her arms as she looked at the weapons. "I don't need anyone to show me how to use a weapon. The sharp pointy end goes into the opponent. Very simple."
She examined the Bat'leth in his hand. "Thanks." She said as she took it from him. She held it in her hands and tried to get the feel of it. It was different from a mek'leth, that was certain...in more ways than just one.
"Just a minute." Sharpay carefully placed the Bat'leth down as if it were an extreemely rare piece of frail china. She then commenced to taking off her walking cast. She was going to take it off even if she was alone in her quarters. "The safetys are on and working so don't have a cow."
Shar placed the cast out of the way then went back and picked up the weapon. "Alright, I'm ready." Shar said as she tried to swing it around. "Say, what are your parents like?"

"If you don't know I'm not going to tell you."
"I see..."
"Well good for you. I don't need anyone to show me how to use a weapon. The sharp pointy end goes into the opponent. Very simple."
He wanted to roll his eyes at her remark... he did not though... she would soon realize his weapons were slightly heavier than normal to begin with...
"Thanks."
"Your welcome." He said as he released his weapon to her. He did not warn her that it was weighted specifically for him, he hoped she would not get tired to soon from using it. He was proud of that weapon, it had served him well for many years...
"Just a minute." "The safeties are on and working so don't have a cow."
He knew the safeties were on, and he was glad of that, he had not used this program for some time, as it tended to give him nightmares... after all, the enemy in this program are Borg, and programmed properly. They adapt to energy weapons but at least the program was designed to end if anyone was compromised... "Alright, I'm ready."
"Then let us begin..."
"Say, what are your parents like?"
"You wish to discuss my parents? Very well... My father is a great warrior and general, he fought alongside many federation ships during the Dominion war and has earned many honors from his countless victories. My mother on the other hand, she is a very strong woman, I do not think she will be happy that I am dating a human. She is still not happy about my brother marrying a human woman without their consent."
He was not entirely comfortable talking about his family, but she had asked and he had no intention of keeping anything from her, ever...
"Computer, begin program, level one."
he started it on its lowest level, but it would progress in waves...
the scenery of the program was very nice, except for the 6 Borg that just materialized in front of them...
"We are the Borg, your genetic material will be added to our own. You will be assimilated, resistance is futile" they all spoke at once and began walking toward the two officers.
"Now would be a good time to try your hand with that weapon Shar."
He reached to the rock, grabbed two yans, one in each hand... a yan is a one handed long sword of the Klingon Empire... Mishtak has two others hanging in an X on his wall in his quarters...
He twirled them in a circular motion and walked forward to meet the three Borg on the left...
"CHEGH-chew jaj-VAM jaj-KAK!" and rushed them, quickly slicing the first into several small pieces with only a few strokes, then turned to the other two... they came at him, weapons raised and tried to grab for him, he easily sliced their arms off and followed it with a kick to the center of their chests, sending each one flying off a cliff. He then turned to see how Sharpay was fairing with her three assailants.

"What would I have to do to get them to approve?"
The program was then started by Mishtak's command. "Level one?" Why start it on an easy level?
"As if you junkyard dogs!" Sharpay was not exactly one to wait. Though the weapon was heavy, making it a little difficult to use she still rushed at the drones. "YA!" Shar swong the weapon at them. She sliced off one of their arms, and as she lifted it up one of the drones grabbed it from the top. "Hey!"
Shar pulled it forward causing the end to plunge into the drones gut. Though she couldn't get it out. She even put one leg on the drone and pulled. It was stuck. "Crap!"
Sharpay decided to just stop trying to pull it out as the other was coming at her. She looked up and saw a thick limb and jumped up and grabbed it and swong herself forward using her legs to push the third one back into the drone with the Bat'leth stuck in it's gut.
She was not about to give up.

"What would I have to do to get them to approve?"
"Become a Klingon... other than that I do not know..."
"As if you junkyard dogs!"
here they go...
"Crap!"
he was still too far away to help her...
Sharpay decided to just stop trying to pull it out as the other was coming at her. She looked up and saw a thick limb and jumped up and grabbed it and swung herself forward using her legs to push the third one back into the drone with the Bat'leth stuck in it's gut.
He smiled a little...
"A very unorthodox technique you have there Shar..."
she was not the type to give up, and he would only interfere if there was a real need for it, as the safeties are on, there was no real need... and once her three were defeated the program would move to level two and create eight drones for them to face off against, and each additional level would give them each one more assailant... it was a very interesting program in that sense, he still wasn't sure why it took place on such a beautiful world, he would probably have enjoyed a moonlit stroll with Shar along one of the beaches just as much as he was enjoying Borg Slaying with her...

"Well, it's unlikely we'll ever meet anyway."
"A very unorthodox technique you have there Shar..."
"Thank you. I try." Sharpay let go of the limb landing on her feet, well at first. She felt a jolt of pain in the leg that had just been heal up when she landed which in turn caused her to fall to her hands and knees. "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!" Shar yelled rather quickly. Thank God for a word to say when you don't know what to say. That hurt!
The Borg hadn't exactly went all that far back. So, while on the ground seeing as they were lined up like dominos Shar rapidly reached out, grabbed the drones ankle and pulled as hard as she could. One by one they tumbled and fell back.
"What's next?" Shar asked as she slowly got to her feet.

"Well, it's unlikely we'll ever meet anyway."
Unless we get married... or they pull a surprise visit... he figured neither of those were likely to occur anytime soon...
"Thank you. I try."
"I believe you succeed..."
"Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!"
He looked perplexed...
"Supercaliwhatsit? I am not familiar with this term, is it what you would call 'slang'?"
"What's next?"
"Next is another wave, unless you wish to take a break for a moment, perhaps a nice moonlit stroll down the beach?"
would she go for it, or would she prefer to stay and fight, even with the obvious pain her leg is causing her...
"Also, I would like to ask you a question... I was thinking... with Commander Hughes' surprise party coming up... well..."
he made sure he was facing her, straightened up and looked as Klingon as ever...
"... I would be honored if you would accompany me to the party."
there, he officially asked her out on their very first date... and it was not as hard as he had thought it would be... having almost no experience dating he was never sure what to say or how to say it, but talking to her was surprisingly one of the easiest things he had ever done...

"Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious." Shar lent a hand. "It's a word to say when you don't know what to say. It comes from a very old Earth musical. If I'm not mistaken the musical is called Mary Poppins, and the show was also on New York's Broadway stage." Shar said in thought. It had been quite a while since she watched the show. "How about a little demo?"
Most of it's a duet so let's see... "So when the cat has got your tongue there's no need for dismay. Just summon up this word then you've got a lot to say, but better use it carefully 'cause it can change your life..." Shar then imitated a mans voice. "For example, one night I said it to me girl and now me girls me wife, and a lovely thing she is too."
Sharpay then winked at Mishtak then began laughing. She wondered what things might be crossing that Klingon mind of his due to her little singing demo.
"Next is another wave, unless you wish to take a break for a moment, perhaps a nice moonlit stroll down the beach?"
"Moonlit stroll?" Sharpay questioned. The suggestion had taken her somewhat by surprise, probably because it sounded more Human than Klingon. In her opinion at least. She did know that Klingons did have a romantic side, she even read one of their romance novels. It was more robust than most. Not that she spent her time reading romance novels. The title of the book is what had sparked her interest.
Sharpay was still debating the walk when he asked another question.
"Also, I would like to ask you a question... I was thinking... with Commander Hughes' surprise party coming up... well..." "... I would be honored if you would accompany me to the party."
Shar walked up and threw her arms around Mishtak and gave him a kiss. "The honor would be mine." Shar said as she looked into his eyes. This actually would be her first date since, well since her former husband to be ran off. Her heart had been hardened until she had met Mishtak. The wall that she had built up seemed to just crashed down.
"Now about that moonlit stroll, where would you like to take it? San Fransisco, Australia, Greece, Betazed, Risa, the place that is supposed to make Risa look like a tourist attraction...what's it called?"

"Demo? As in your going to sing, dance and perform a musical for me?"
"So when the cat has got your tongue there's no need for dismay. Just summon up this word then you've got a lot to say, but better use it carefully 'cause it can change your life..."
As she set about her demo, the holodeck program engaged level two...
"Computer, Freeze program..."
"For example, one night I said it to me girl and now me girls me wife, and a lovely thing she is too."
Now that line bothered him slightly, did this word have a different meaning in some culture, where if the man speaks it to a woman they are married? It was something he would have to look into before attempting to say it to her...
"Moonlit stroll?"
"...I understand them to be quite stimulating..."
"The honor would be mine."
He held her a moment longer, and kissed her again... it felt natural to do so...
"Now about that moonlit stroll, where would you like to take it? San Fransisco, Australia, Greece, Betazed, Risa, the place that is supposed to make Risa look like a tourist attraction...what's it called?"
Allow me he thought, as he tried to remember where his brother had told him the wedding had been held...
"Computer, End program..."
the room become a black cube with yellow stripes...
"Computer, Program Casperia Prime, sunset, beach... activate..."
the walls shimmered and they were standing on a beach on one of the most beautiful planets known to the federation, some even said Risa paled in comparison to the natural beauty of this world...
He held out his hand to her...
"Shall we walk?"

Sharpay had felt a little dizzy again when he kissed her. The world just seemed to fade away. It was wonderful, no better than that. Was there even a word? Not likely. Higher than cloud nine perhaps?
"Believe it or not, I've never been on a moonlit stroll." Sharpay admitted quietly. Actually, when it came to things people would call 'romantic activities' there were quite a few things Shar fell short of. Mainly due to the fear she had of getting hurt. The last one was the last time she'd let someone in, well up until now.
Though she would not admit it she was still a little afraid that history might repeat itself. She did like Mishtak a lot, well okay it went way beyond like which is why she had a little bit of fear, but something said she could trust him. No ulterior motives.
"Computer, Program Casperia Prime, sunset, beach... activate..."
That's what it's called!
"It's beautiful. The real place is probably more so."
"Shall we walk?"
Sharpay smiled softly as she took his hand. "We shall."
"So, what made you think of this place?" Shar asked as she decided to slip her feet out of her shoes. Something just felt wrong walking on a beautiful beach with shoes on. Barefoot felt more natural. When they ended the program she could get them back later.

"Believe it or not, I've never been on a moonlit stroll."
"Then we are going to remedy that, as my brother would say..."
"It's beautiful. The real place is probably more so."
"... I have been told that the holodeck representations of this world do not do it justice..." He looked around "...As I have never seen the real thing, I cannot make that determination..."
"We shall."
walked with her hand in his, and he felt real happiness in that moment...
"So, what made you think of this place?"
He smiled slightly, and tried to hide it, as if it had been a private joke... then realizing he did not want such a thing to exist he let her in on it...
"My brother..."
He looked around, found the spot his brother had described and walked with her over to the little gazebo thing...
"... and the view from here he told me about... you see, at this location on the actual planet, is where Merzan and Fiona were married..."
was it a bad idea to bring your girlfriend, on your first real date, to a replica of the spot that housed your brother's wedding? he'd have to ask the ships counselor later... if he felt the need to speak to her that is...
"He sent me a message remarking of it's beauty and suggested, that should I ever fall in love, that I should bring her here... seeing as there is not much chance of us actually getting there, I thought this would be a sufficient substitute. It is quite stimulating..."

Sharpay pretty much stayed quiet as they walked hand in hand. She was actually quite happy and contented at the moment. She simply listened as Mishtak talked. She had never been to the real place either, and she never really expected to be. Sharpay didn't even think she'd be on a recreation of the place as she had no real reason, well until now perhaps.
Shar smiled as she was led to the gazebo. She never knew why, but she was always quite fond of them. Shar touched one of the petals of a pinkish colored flower that grew up along side the gazebo and intertwined with a few other flowers. It was quite amazing how real holographic things could look, feel, and smell.
"Well, it seems like quite a beautiful and romantic spot to get married. I'm sure it was a very nice ceremony."
She really had no clue why he had told her that bit of information. So, she really didn't think much of it.
"He sent me a message remarking of it's beauty and suggested, that should I ever fall in love, that I should bring her here... seeing as there is not much chance of us actually getting there, I thought this would be a sufficient substitute. It is quite stimulating..."
Sharpay stopped looking around and admiring the plant life. She looked straight at Mishtak. Did he just...love? Love?
Sharpay was flooded with instant fear, there was no hiding it. He had just scared about nine years off of her. Sharpay let go of his hand and took a step back. "Would you mind...uh," Shar pursed her lips together. "What are we really doing here?"
She had wanted to run away when he had said what he did, but her feet and legs would not get a move on. It was like she was stuck in cement.

"Well, it seems like quite a beautiful and romantic spot to get married. I'm sure it was a very nice ceremony."
"I'm certain it was... even if it was just members of the crew and performed by the Captain..."
He watched as she appeared scared half to death and began backing away... "What are we really doing here?"
"Have I done or said something wrong? I am new to this dating thing... I did not mean to offend you, I merely wanted, as they say 'A romantic evening' with you..."
He made no move to close the distance between them, it was obvious things were going a bit faster than either of them had intended... he began wondering what it was he had said that had caused this reaction, or perhaps his brother was wrong and this was not a good place for a first date...

"Have I done or said something wrong? I am new to this dating thing... I did not mean to offend you, I merely wanted, as they say 'A romantic evening' with you..."
"You didn't offend me." Sharpay told Mishtak, still scared. If he had offended her fear would not be the emotion she would experience. "You said...well, you said..." Shar cleared her throat. Her heart was pounding like a drum. "It sounded like you said you loved me." Well it had sounded that way to her. Following his brothers advice about bringing a girl he loves to this place.
Shar brushed her bangs further to the side as she looked to the ground then back up at Mishtak.
"I don't have a problem with the romantic evening part." Shar started to explain. "It's...it's...just, uh..." Sharpay looked down and back up again as she wrapped her hand around one of the gazebos posts. "The last time," Shar was obviously struggling to get the words out, even though she had blurted a bit out on their first mission together.
"I was nineteen when I-I-I said yes to, uh, be married." Sharpay moved her free hand behind her neck as she looked at the ground. "The last time," Shar swallowed. "I heard the words...I love you was when I was twenty. Three days before he ran off." Tears started to run down her cheeks. "I saved his life twice while we were a couple."
Sharpay wiped the tears from her face and eyes. Suck it up girl.
Shar then did something she had not expected to do. She stepped closer, wrapped her arms around Mishtak as she lay her head to rest upon his chest. "I don't like repeated history." Sharpay closed her eyes as she started to calm down.
The next move was his. Would he push her away? Would he embrace her? Would he break up before they actually got off the ground? She wasn't sure. All she knew right now was that she had feelings for him, and felt a little better telling what had happened.
