Commander Christian Hughes was first to arrive in the Briefing Room via the Bridge: he was the Executive Officer, so he had felt the need to be somewhat faster so he could see if everything was alright on the Bridge and make some preparations for their first briefing with the new Captain. Truth be told, he was a bit nervous: Captain Tiho seemed a bit bossy to him, not at all like Captain Prince. How would she deal with an autistic First Officer? He resolved to see her in the Ready Room for a conversation anywhere after the briefing, and wondered what the orders from Starfleet Command were.
"Computer," he inquired. "Is all the conference equipment ready?" "Please specify," the computer replied. Christian cursed under his breath as he came to a sudden realisation. He had been out of Ops for too long to know that he should have been specific with the computer. "Are all conference systems standby?" "Affirmative." "Good job," Christian complimented without a thought, as he was used to with the crew. "I do not have a response pattern ready." "Oh, never mind," said Christian. This job had changed him: the certainty of computers which he had loved so much had been out of his mind for that moment.
He made sure all seats were arranged around the table in the right fashion and that the briefing room was tidy. Then he sat down in his chair and waited for the others to come in.

When Captain Tiho arrived on the bridge of the Orion she was a bit in awe of the ships command center. It was lovely, and a tad larger than she had expected. Walking out a bit more an officer snapped to attention and said: "Captain on the bridge!" La'Mara looked at him and the other officers, after of course calming from the sudden startle. "As you were." La'Mara said pleasantly, with a soft smile. I'll have to get used to hearing that I suppose...
After a brief look at a few consoles on the bridge La'Mara strode into the briefing room. "Schematics never really prepare you for the real thing." La'Mara muttered to herself upon entering. Also upon entering the briefing room she was quite pleased to see Commander Hughes there. It showed. She smiled. "Hello again commander." La'Mara said in a more relaxed tone, as she walked over to her chair, and stood behind it; placing her hands and elbows on the top.
"I apologize if I seemed brazen or impudent earlier." Captain Tiho said as they waited for the others to arrive. She knew she didn't owe an explanation, and La'Mara also suspected Commander Hughes knew that as well. "And I'd like to thank you for the welcome. Really, it was appreciated." La'Mara paused a moment before continuing.
"I think I should also take this time to let you know that I'll be relying on you quite a bit, especially until we all get used to each other." La'Mara informed Commander Hughes calmly.
La'Mara was not exactly as snappish or rude as the impression she had at first given. One of the former hosts on the other hand...well, that was a different story.

After dropping off his robes he proceeded to the bridge and then the conference room, adjusting his sash, with hidden dagger, on the way... He had been thinking to himself about the captain's greeting and jump directly to orders, he had never seen that on a federation ship before, at least not one that wasn't under attack of some kind. Most on coming commanding officers take the set up of the ceremony to greet the senior staff and address the crew, this was new to him and he was fairly certain that none of the other crew members would understand. He also made a mental note to double check her records and see if she was joined and if so to track her previous hosts and learn what he could about them as well.
He entered the briefing room to find the new captain and the first officer in conversation, he stopped and waited for a pause in their conversation before clearing his throat and speaking.
"Lt. Mishtak, Chief Tactical & Security Officer, reporting as ordered Captain."
He called her captain because he was unsure if she preferred the standard 'sir' that all starfleet officers get, regardless of gender, or if she preferred something else. he would soon find out.

As far as Sharpay knew she was still acting chief engineer, so until someone said differently she was going to show up at that briefing. It didn't take her long at all to get back to engineering, go over a few things, check systems, then put someone else in charge again. Personally Ensign Harper was not looking forward to this briefing.
She wished she could just stay with the heart of her ship. Yes, her ship. Didn't matter what anyone else said.
After taking the ride to deck one from deck eleven Sharpay walked on and and straight through the doors of the briefing room. Commander Hughes was there, so was Mishtak, and their new captain. And there was talking. "Did I miss anything?" Shar inquired as she pulled up a seat, and sat.

Lieutenant (Junior Grade) Lisa Huygens came into the briefing room right on time for the briefing, having previously taken a detour to explain to Ensign Digby why she should not refer to the new Captain as "snappin' spotty". She felt sorry for the usually casual and friendly Ensign Digby, but it wasn't the best start of her new-found working relationship with Captain Tiho to have one of her charges, friends and junior officers refer to her in any other way than the respectful terms of reference. Nevertheless, she'd say nothing. Not even to Christian.
She saw Captain Tiho and Christian conversing with eachother, joined every few remarks by Mishtak's respectful Klingonish conversation. Ensign Harper was there for engineering. Doctor Jones and Faith to go, and then they'd be all present and accounted for.
"Captain," she said respectfully, before taking her seat. Christian would introduce her.

Since they had not a chief CONN officer anymore either, Lieutenant Junior Grade Faith Ackron currently served as head until a replacement was found. So, after making sure they were still on the right coordinates, Faith left the station to an ensign so she could attend the briefing. She was not exactly looking forward to it, but it was not as if she had a choice. In she went. Seemed everyone was there except their chief medical officer.
"Captain, Commander." Faith took her seat and began to wonder how long they'd wait for the doctor. He was the only one left to wait for.

When Captain Tiho smiled, Christian returned the smile instantly. He was reassured by Captain Tiho's smile, a welcome reassurance after the shaky start that had made him feel a bit uncomfortable. Apparently, he'd already earned her respect. She even apologised for "brazenness or impudence" and thanked him for his welcome.
He then first considered La'Mara Tiho as a person instead of as his superior officer, something he had never done with Captain Prince. 7 years his senior, Captain Tiho was as old as Captain Prince, but less experienced in command, just appointed to Captain in the way he had recently been appointed to Commander. She was a joined Trill, he knew, although he'd rather not think of the symbiont unless she brought it up. It was still hard to fathom that Captain Tiho could be two persons in a single body.
"Thank you, Captain," he said. "I don't think the crew took offence. We'll be adjusting to your style in no time," he reassured her. Upon hearing that she would be relying upon him quite a bit, he smiled reassuringly. "I'll do my best." He thought of bringing up his autism, but postponed that until later, when they had the time to talk in the confidence of the Captain's Ready Room. He just kept it at the following: "Although there is the matter of my functional disability. I was hoping we could discuss that later in your Ready Room, ma'am."
He second-guessed himself, seeming a bit clumsy in his social interaction. "Do you mind if I call you ma'am? Captain Prince always said she preferred Captain."
Then Mishtak entered. Ready to introduce the Chief of Security, nevertheless that was not needed. Christian should have known better, really: Mishtak reported with his full name and rank. He was followed a few minutes later by Ensign Harper, who inquired if she had missed anything. "Not very likely," replied the First Officer with a smile. "Seeing as not all are here yet..." Then to the Captain, he said: "May I introduce Ensign Sharpay Harper, who acts as our Chief Engineer for the moment?"
A few moments later, Lisa entered, prompting a smile from Christian. She was followed closely by Lieutenant Ackron, who greeted him and Captain Tiho politely. Christian returned the greeting. Looking around the table and counting heads, Christian found one was missing yet. He tried to figure out who it was by introducing them all to the Captain.
"Captain," he said. "You already know Lieutenant Mishtak and Ensign Harper, but these two are also Acting Department Heads: Lieutenant Lisa Huygens, from Science, who also heads up a Social Initiatives Group to organise social activities - you should have seen my promotion party," he stopped and smiled at Lisa, proud of what she had achieved, "and Faith Ackron, our steady hand on the tiller at the CONN."
"That leaves," he said thoughtfully, "Doctor Jones."

La'Mara listened to Commander Hughes. Something told her that it would not be too difficult to work with him. The question of what to call her had come up. It was something to think about, and something that might be on others mind as well.
"I'll answer that as soon as the other officers arrive, alright." La'Mara spoke softly, and thoughtfully. The majority of hosts had been male so technically she'd been called many different things, and names. Perhaps what her officers should call her would be a good thing to bring up. That way there'd be no uncertainty. Tiho had been men and women. La'Mara was a woman.
Not soon after she watched as one by one the senor staff started filling up the briefing room. Some had been early, others had been exactly on time. That really pleased La'Mara, especially since she thought of tardiness as a small sin at times. People had jobs to do and some of those people relied on others so they could get their jobs done, so if people were late it could cause all sorts of effects or problems; not just with people, but also the structure, and depending on what kind of situations tardiness could also cause people their lives. The Tiho Symbiont witnessed such an event in a different host.
Next were introductions.
"It's nice to meet you all." La'Mara said addressing each officer, looking to each as well. "We'll wait five more minutes for Doctor Jones to arrive, then we'll start the briefing." One of the previous hosts had been a doctor, so at the moment La'Mara was giving Jones the benefit of the doubt since thanks to the symbiont she knew what it was like.
Surely he'd call on the comm lines if there was a problem and was not able to attend; then if that was the case La'Mara would simply open up a visual/audio link to sickbay so he could do his job and still be part of the briefing.
"Well, while we are waiting I suppose I should answer the question on what to call me. I am a joined Trill if any of you were wondering. I suppose the best thing to call me would be captain, or simply Tiho. Ma'am is acceptable on occasions."
"I'm a bit strict about punctuality. A small note of caution." She admitted raising her hand a bit leave about and inch open between her thumb and index finger. It was another thing she felt that they should know. Captain Tiho could not help her brief gaze to the door, the back to those in the room. Few more minutes the briefing would begin. "After our briefing I'll allow about five minutes worth of questions should you have any."

Dom was in the sickbay checking out the equipment and making sure it was all up to date and fine. It seemed to check out, but he had to make sure. Grabbing a cleaner, he started to go through the equipment and slowly, one by one, he began to make sure that they were all clean. He was part way through cleaning a Dermal Regenerator when a young ensign came through the doors, took one look at him and asked "Sir shouldn't you be at the senior staff meeting?" "bleep it. I didn't even know there was one." curseing under his breath, he ran out the room, throwing his coat on the floor.
Running into the turbolift he said "Bridge". As the lift headed up, he tried to make himself look presentable. Smoothing down his dark brown hair, he straightened his uniform and made sure his pips were on straight.
Arriving on the bridge he headed straight across and entered the briefing room to find everyone else waiting for him. Sorry I'm late sirs" he said taking his seat.

"Not very likely,"
Well that was good to know. Soon people started filing in. It was how it should have been. A few more words were exchanged, and then Commander Hughes started to introduce them all. How lovely. Or was it? Didn't Captain Tiho read their files already? Or was Commander Hughes just being nice. Eventually Shar decided that he was just being nice.
"May I introduce Ensign Sharpay Harper, who acts as our Chief Engineer for the moment?"
"Hail to the chief." Shar said a tad dryly, with a hint of sarcasem, and a smile; giving a bit of a lazy salute, using two fingers, in the process. Her unique sense of strange humor was showing. It was also a Terran thing; hail to the chief that is. Hey, it helped people remember who she was. No one ever said 'oh what's her name?' or 'that blonde girl'.
Captain Tiho then began speaking. So she was not as bad as Shar first thought. The puncutalitly thing didn't bother her at all because Shar generally said something would take longer than it actually would. It made people think you could break the laws of physics!
Just then their doctor came through the doors and Sharpay wanted to laugh a bit, but did not. "Speak of the devil." She lightly muttered under her breath. What would Tiho do?

In walked a bald man, standing almost six feet tall. He wore the red accented color of Command and silently took a seat. He looked around the table and gave a nod of acknowledgement to the general assembly. His eyes poured over each member around the table looking each one in the eyes. He straightened out his suit and folded his arms waiting silently, patiently.

Yeah, that helped. Faith was starting to wonder herself. Just then the doors opened, and in walked another officer.
She didn't know about anyone else, but Faith recognized the new arrival in the briefing room. Lieutenant Commander Reinhardt; chief helmsman. When did he return back to duty?
He'd been off for quite a while. She didn't know exactly why. It really didn't matter in the long run. "Commander." Faith acknowledged, doing her best to hide the surprise in her voice. Why hadn't she been told?

"Sorry I'm late sirs"
"Glad you could join us Doctor Jones. I hope everything was all right." La'Mara said with a hint of a smile and partial inquirement. Everyone was now here as far as she knew. Now maybe they could get on with the briefing. Tiho walked over to the panel on the wall in the briefing room. She punched it on. "Does anyone-"
The doors whooshed open again, and in walked another officer. He silently took a seat. La'Mara was trying to call the face to memory, when she heard Lieutenant Ackron say 'Commander' with a hint of surprise. It then dawned on her. This must be the man Lieutenant Ackron was filling in for... Okay. Captain Tiho just simply gave him a nod for now.
"As I was about to say, does anyone remember the Barzan wormhole, that the Enterprise-D held negotiations for? And that Voyager later came across during their time in the Delta Quadrant?"

"Commander." Faith acknowledged, doing her best to hide the surprise in her voice.
Commander Reinhardt acknowledged her with a nodding of his head that was so subtle it easily might not have happened at all. He seemed to have came in on the Captain talking, he had regretted that but he was not sure if he was up for this tour. He made the decision last minute. He wanted to, he NEEDED to get out of that house. Wait did he just hear her mention the Barzan wormhole?
"As I was about to say, does anyone remember the Barzan wormhole, that the Enterprise-D held negotiations for? And that Voyager later came across during their time in the Delta Quadrant?"
"Aye Captain, I am aware of the wormhole, why do you ask?" He has said with a completely serious face, no smile, he almost looked angry, or perhaps that was grim. Yet there was no anger in his voice. Just a plainly laid statement. He now brought his eyes to the Captains, his sorrowful eyes that held such sadness, they were unsettling to look into for to long.

Lieutenant-Commander Reinhardt and Doctor Jones came in, and then Captain Tiho inquired if anyone remembered the Barzan Wormhole. Well, Lisa remembered: that was her job as Assistant Chief Science Officer. The Science team had done a thorough study of the ways the Delta Quadrant was previously reached as preparation for the mission, and amidst all the strange occurances that popped up in Voyager's reports of how they came to be in the Delta Quadrant, the Barzan Wormhole was the most "normal". She decided to share with the rest.
"We've studied most known ways of getting into the Delta Quadrant, Captain," said Lisa. "And the Barzan Wormhole is one of the most 'normal'. It is an unstable wormhole, negotiated over by the Enterprise and later used by a bunch of Ferengi to dupe the natives of a nearby planet. According to our information, it is extremely unreliable."
It dawned on Lisa that there had to be a reason the question was asked. She was too smart to ask why, as she thought she knew. "Wait," she said. "Captain, surely you are not suggesting our orders are to look for the Barzan Wormhole?" It would not be her choice for a gateway into the Delta Quadrant. "The wormhole is unstable. Once there, we'll be alone like Voyager, without a way back."
