History/Background/Education
Elaine Stella Ashbury was born on Deep Space Delta Four as the youngest child of the station's Commander, Commodore Rupert Ashbury. She has two brothers: Charles Ashbury and Arthur Ashbury. Growing up aboard the station, she took no interest whatsoever in the Command operations. In secondary school, she took an interest in medicine, and as she grew up, the station's doctor, doctor Josephine Loro, acted as her mentor and sponsor to Starfleet Medical Academy.
Straight out of Medical Academy, she served as doctor aboard a Starbase in the Alpha Quadrant, not much at all. When a post came up in the Delta Quadrant where her brother took command of a space station, Elaine asked him to be reassigned as Assistant CMO there. Arthur at first refused, afraid to play favourites, but Elaine stubbornly persisted and eventually got the go-ahead.
It does not need to be super long or very complex.
Personality Profile:
Like her brother, Elaine is cheerful, adventurous and a little casual. She likes to help people, and takes much happiness out of her job as a doctor, although she does not spend even her whole time on-duty in sickbay, preferring a personal approach which involves visiting patients in their quarters if they wish to. She is committed to her Hippocratic Oath and takes her job very seriously, and is not one to joke around when the situation gets tough (she has always considered Arthur a bit too licentious on that account).
In contrast to Arthur's recklessness, Elaine thinks before she acts at almost all times. Her adventurousness, therefore, is more of a lust for exploration and knowledge than a liking to risks. There is one crucial exception to this: when Elaine really wants something, she'll deliver. Her stubborness is a great source of strength and resolve, and it is difficult to talk her out of something she's resolved to do.
Elaine likes her brother and is very protective of him, because she thinks he gets into trouble too much. Whenever he attempts an unwise action, Elaine is sure to voice her eventual disagreement and try to talk him out of it. She'll also try to convince him to eventually just pick a girl and settle down, like she intends to do once she's met a boyfriend and built a relationship, and quit chasing 'all the girls on the Station' around (something her brother denies but which, in her perception, seems to be quite true).
Doctor Ashbury sees herself as down-to-earth and pragmatic, a calm thinker whose dream it is to get in the medical journals as well as help people. Nevertheless, she also takes quite a liking to art forms like acting and debating. Like her brother, she likes to play Velocity and sail.

Role-Play Sample:
"Elaine, I know that Starbase 404 is not the most spectacular assignment," said her brother, "but you must understand that if I take you with me, it could undermine my command."
Elaine Ashbury was not amused with Arthur right now. She was not exactly jealous of his adventure in the Delta Quadrant, she had just made up her mind: she was going with him. "Since when have you ever worried about something undermining your command, brother?" she retorted fiercely. "Such as at that dinner in the Mess Hall with this lady you talk so much about, or your "I-follow-my-own-protocols" philosophy? And I won't even begin to..."
Arthur interrupted her. "Look Elly..." he began, but he had probably forgotten for a moment that his little sister didn't like to be called 'Elly'. He always did when she tried to convince him of her way of seeing things. "Doctor Ashbury for you," she said with a smile, half-annoyed, half-unable to be made at her brother. "That proves my point. You'll need someone to keep that head of yours firmly attached while you're off dating every woman on that new Station of yours or having drinks with your staff."
Her brother started laughing. "Let me guess," he said. "This is not my decision, is it?" Elaine knew he had just conceded to her. "You know me too well, Artie," she said, teasing him with his childhood nickname. She grinned as she saw his face turn red.
"Don't call me..." said Art, then he calmed down. "Alright. Since you've already decided for yourself that you're getting that post, I might as well give it to you. It's not like you'll make a bad doctor."
