"You are not old enough for anything in my quarters, perhaps when you have grown up a bit we can revisit that question."
Shawn raised an index finger in the air as he readjusted his posture to sit up nice and straight. He then did his very best mother impersonation. "Age is simply a state of mind. You're only as young as you feel. Or think you are." Shawn was grinning ear to ear. When finished he slouched back into the chair. "Or so my mom says."
"Why have I taken the time?!" Shawn echoed the final part of the question with a somewhat surprised voice and expression upon his face. That was one crazy question! "That's like asking a Ferengi if he would like to make more profit than he has already commissioned!"
"Everyone knows that Klingons are one of the coolest races in the galaxy. Besides, I have a test to study for." Shawn added with a light shrug to his shoulders. Both statements were true. Though something said Mishtak might not want to be classified as 'cool'. Especially by him. Shawn caused security so much trouble, but he did have to admit that he did help keep them on their toes, too.
"Why this sudden interest in the personal lives of the crew anyway? Run out of things to do in your free time or did Xena finally find a way to get you to stop following her around?"
"No." The young boy replied with a shake of his head. "Just thought it might be fun to make things more interesting. I mean, you got to be tired of the same old thing from me everyday, right? And, well..." Shawn began scratching the top of his head.
"Lieutenant Xena said if I could stay out of trouble for one day she'd run a holodeck program with me, and that she'd consider asking you if it'd be alright if I could do some security training." Shawn shrugged again. "I guess she figures I need a way to express my skills other than playing pranks."

"That is none of your business child."
Yeah, yeah. Whatever. The young boy thought without a care. He was eleven. He was young. He had a lot of free time on his hands. Shawn was just doing his job! Being a child for as long as possible, and having fun in the process! From what he had been told being a child didn't last long, and once it was gone you could not get all the fun of childhood back! So, Shawn O' Conner made the most of every moment!
He then went to talk to the captain and the ships Intel officer, who was kind of...cool, for a girl. The whole situation with finding a Borg on that alian shuttlecraft... What fun! Soon the conversation died down, and Shawn went back to his seat across from Lieutenant Mishtak. His wonderful Klingon pal!
"Well, if you're not going to tell me when you're gonna marry Ensign Harper, how about we go to your quarters and you can show me all the weapons you got in there!"
How did Shaw know? Well, Sharpay was not the only good hacker on the Orion. There was also Lieutenant Denali, and of course himself. So yes, he had got into who brought what aboard. Aside from that Mishtak was Klingon; did Klingons usually leave all their survival weapons at home? No. The majority of them were sacred anyhow!
"When did you perform kut'luch? Don't it signify when a Klingon becomes a warrior?"
Shawn stopped and thought for a moment before turning the conversation. "If not Ensign Harper what about Lieutenant Xena?"

I first must admit I don't know wht FTP stands for. And if I do know it, it has slipped my mind. Anywho...I've never played STO. I've seen the homepage; the site, but I have never signed up, played it or anything. It just dosen't interest me. Aside from that, online games tend to carry the most computer bugs/viriuses. Like when Neopets came out...my sisters computer was SO infested with bugs from that website. One never knows. If other people have an intrest that is just fine an dandy ith me! What fun would it be if we were all the same and did the same thngs and liked the same things... I gather life would get dull right fast. If anyone has played the game I'd enjoy reading what yall think about it.

While Shawn was waiting as patiently as a young boy could for Lieutenant Mishtak to answer his question about him and Ensign Sharpay Harper or at least make some kind of remark, the young troublemaker couldn't help bu overhear the conversation that Captain Tiho and Ensign Triad seemed to be having. Shawn decided to speak up.
"If you want my opinion," Shawn waved his hand in the air to get their attention. "I'd run something with action and adventure! Or maybe, I dunno, a game of baseball." Despite how well some women were at the sport the young boy just could not help but laugh at the picture of Captain Tiho and Ensign Triad playing a game of baseball. Although, it might be interesting if the crew did play ball; men against women.
Shawn would certainly watch that! Provided of course he was told he could not play the game.

The mess hall doors opened with a hiss as young Mister Shown O' Conner walked through. A fair amount of the crew was here, eating, talking, resting. Shawn scanned the room briefly and saw the captain, Ensign Triad; she was pretty cool he supposed, and then his eyes landed on Lieutenant Mishtak. A big ole grin appeared on the young boys mouth.
Well, since Lieutenant Xena had said if she had to look at him one more time she'd make him dance by avoiding the beam of her phaser. And truth be told, Shawn wouldn't actually put that past Xena. He steely blue gaze was enough to send chills down his spine. And Ensign Harper didn't have any things that needed repair, and booted him out of engineering there was only one person left...Mishtak.
Shawn walked up to the table where the Klingon sat. "So, when are you and Ensign Harper getting married?"

Don't go getting any ideas. Shawn ran through Xena's words in his mind. It was already a little too late for that! Shawn was always getting ideas! This alien shuttle fascinated him. The door was open, but Xena wouldn't let him go inside. Shawn almost tried to sneak off, but he knew Xena would catch him. She was one person that sometimes knew what Shawn was thinking before he did.
Not soon after Xena handed him off to Chan. She was pretty cool for a person that was of lower rank. Why Chan was not promoted to ensign yet was beyond him.
"If you know what a med kit looks like, grab one from shuttle five over there. I'll get the one from three."
Finally, some action!
Shawn zoomed to shuttle five, and effortlessly got inside, got a medkit, and zoomed back to Chan. And while the adults were busy Shawn took his chance to creep into the alien craft, and start to poke around. After placing the medkit on a damaged console Shawn crawled behind some loose tubes and what looked like part of the ceiling that was hanging down slightly.
"We are the Borg." Shawn said emotionlessly; imitating the collectives hail. The young boy had discovered a Borg corpse. Shawn reached out and touched something on the dead drones arm. A odd shaped device started to spin round in circles. "DUDE!"
Shawn swiftly came back out, and dusted the rubble off his head. "It's spinning out of control!"

"Stay. Come. What am I? A dog?" Shawn asked rhetorically. He got up and went with Chan and Xena to the shuttlebay. At least Xena was going to let him help. What better way to keep an eye on him? Security was sure getting smart. It must be all the times he kept them on his feet.

She was looking at him silently. It was almost as if her eyes were x-raying him. For a minute there was a lingering cold chill in the air. She just stood there. Before Shawn said anything Crewman Chan was there next to Xena. Was this the womans shift or something...
"Good morning Lieutenant Xena, I would say good morning to our visitor but I doubt he's here because he was invited."
"Hey, I'm performing a vital function." Shawn stated as he looked up and over to Chan. He pointed to himself. "I'm learning through observation. Are you really going to give me the cold shoulder for taking on the guy role of Jane Goodall? Not that I'm saying you two are gorillas or anything..." Shawn said now pointing at both Chan and Xena.
"Turning yourself in to save us trouble I see, how very thoughtful of you."
"That's me! I'm thoughtful boy!"

The hatch had been pulled open from the outside. Shawn at first only saw a pair of legs, covered with the black pants. They were all to familiar; he had run into them before. Shawn slowly lifted his head and eyes upward only to see the face of Lieutenant Xena: Assistant Chief of Security. Shawn gave her one of his best innocent smiles. He knew though that it would not work. "Hi."
"So, what brings you here?" Shawn asked innocently as he slowly got out of the jeffries tube. Even he knew that was a stupid question which he had just asked. This was after all the security and Intel office. The question Xena would likely ask was what he was doing here...or not. Sometimes it was difficult for Shawn to read Xena. She was not as predictable as everyone else on the ship.

With things back to normal: crew, ship, etc. Shawn was taking this opportunity for his world to get back to normal. The mischief maker had made it through the ships jeffries tubes without running into Ensign Harper (thank God!), only to arrive at a hatch that led into the security office. After listening quietly and carefully for a while Shawn knew two things: Mishtak was not there. Xena was in charge. And that Crewman Kozz had an argument with the computer in the cargo bay; which was of course do to some of Shawn's 'handy work'.
The young lad was doing his best not to laugh after the crewman finished talking to Xena then left to go do another task. It had been a success story if he had ever heard one. Shawn then shifted to get more comfortable while eavesdropping. When he did Shawn's elbow accidentally hit the hatch.
"Ow!" Shawn exclaimed in whisper, hoping no one heard.

"I hope she returns to normal soon,"
It took everything inside of Shawn not to laugh! The captain kicking the first officer. That would have been a priceless photo or recording! "I don't know sir. I think I kind of like her better this way." Shawn said with a grin that was ear to ear. "Much more fun."
"Go ahead, Shawn,"
"Aye." Then Sharpay and another appeared on the view screen right next to the doctor. Those on the bridge could see sickbay and engineering at the same time. "Um, that's why it matters commander." Shawn said pointing to the screen. "Looks like it's a two for one deal."
Shawn then picked up and left. Well, not after a: "Have fun sir."

Shawn could have just rolled up in a ball, and died from laughter at what had been going on on the bridge of the USS Orion. Too bad none of this was being recorded. However Shawn just remained quiet as to see how the commander was going to handle all of this. Though the young boy did get concerned when it was mention 'who was at the helm'. Shouldn't someone be there?
"Can everybody please be quiet?"
They can, but I don't think they'll listen. Shawn was about to rise and do as Commander Hughes said, but then Lilly was back on the screen saying she already did it. "That was fast." Shawn remarked mainly to himself. "Commander, do you still..."
Shawn was cut off by a beeping sound. He looked over at the console. "We're being spied on from engineering."

Dubious ethics? Since when? History says they were impressed! Maybe it was just because he was 'only a boy'. You just stayed a bunch of energy when stuck inside. Shawn shrugged and simply said: "Okay."
"Even if you already know she is unfit?" Shawn questioned, with curiosity. "If I may pose a question, sir, what exactly the difference between the captain and myself right now? Except for the fact that she is older than you, but acting younger than me?"
This kind of puzzled Shawn a little bit. Sure there were the regulations, but honestly? Commander Hughes wouldn't let him have command of the bridge, so why would he let the captain, without someone deeming her unfit when one could already see with their own eyes?
Suddenly there was Lilly on the screen. Sitting on his feet, Shawn said: "Hiya Lilly! Hiya Doc!"

Blah. I think I'm getting sick! Over all today was an awesome day! Church was just totally fantastic! This evening, Kimmi accepted Jesus Christ into her heart as Lord and Savior. Oh how wonderful! This morning we had a woman become a member. She was SO happy, and so were we! On Saturday I'm hoping to go to the nursing home with someone from church, and be a light there. And come fall, I'll be taking ASL. And currently I'm trying to re-learn my flute, and all the sheet music. Oh, if anyone is wondering, I attend Maranatha Church Of God.

Drat! Shawn thought, unhappily about the answer given. Well, perhaps he would not be in command today, but maybe later down the road... Hey! One never knows what exactly the future will bring. Maybe one day he will have no other choice but to take command. Shawn ginned at the thought.
Shawn lightly shook his head. Why did adults insist on complicating things? Grounding them would be easy!
"Well Commander, we can always put up the force field on the brig then transport a hand-full of officers there. As for the others we could just stick up force fields around the cargo bays, then transport the rest of the crew inside there. After transport we could cut power to things they don't need, and change the access codes so even the captain can't override the commands."
Each cargo bay, in an emergency could hold up to approximately 200 people. Well, it worked when Voyager did it!
"Or...we could just leave everyone in the transporter buffer." Scotty stayed in there how many years before the Enterprise D found him?
