Chan was healed. Everyone was organized. The cadets and Ensign Digby were on their mission, and a plan was underway to get out of here. Another plus: everyone appeared to be getting along. Since everything was running smoothly La'Mara stepped outside of the shuttle, and leaned against it's side for a moment.
So many things were whirling in her mind. Right now she was trying to clear everything away and focus on a conversation that took place between a former host and Montgomery Scott. Six months after Scotty left Enterprise - D. Some words of wisdom would be good in a situation like this. Well this is definitely something...

Janet had decided to leave the boys alone with their toys, besides she needed to scout the area better and check up with the Ensign and Cadets. She stepped out of the shuttle and saw Captain Tiho taking a break, looked like she was catching her breath after the ordeal and Janet didn't blame her one bit for it. She approached the captain slowly, not wanting to interrupt her but at the same time wanting to check up on her...
"Excuse me Captain, are you alright?"

"Excuse me Captain, are you alright?"
"Hmm?" La'Mara looked in the direction of the voice. It was Crewman Chan. La'Mara smiled a soft, calm smile, though personally she did not feel all that calm. She kind of blamed herself for not checking the weather conditions of the planet, and perhaps waiting a bit longer before actually going down. They might have picked up something with an extra twenty four hours.
And if they had the possibility of a crash landing and possible stranded situation would have been less or perhaps not at all. And poor Rose Digby. La'Mara had wanted her to pilot to help the young ensign with her self confidence; as was talked about between Commander Hughes and herself. Look what happened. Well, there was no turning back the clock now.
"I'll admit to having better days." La'Mara replied evenly to Chans' inquiry. "Are you feeling any better?"
Though La'Mara still didn't knew her crew all that well yet, she still sincerely cared for each and every one of them.

"Hmm?"
Obviously she had other things on her mind at the moment.
"I'll admit to having better days."
"I think we can all agree with that Captain."
"Are you feeling any better?"
Janet smiled,
"I'll live."
The pain had started to fade even though the swelling had begun, but all in all she probably looked worse than she was. Soon enough and she'd be back to normal...
"Besides, it's nothing a day sleeping can't fix."
She did not actually plan to take a day off, but she also didn't plan on doing anything extra in her down time. If they ever got back to the ship that is...

"I think we can all agree with that Captain."
La'Mara smiled at Chan. "You got me there. I was just trying to remember something Scotty once said. Could prove useful, but I'll admit to having a wee bit of difficulty concentrating." La'Mara said, tempted to let out a sigh, but did not. "Truthfully I am feeling a bit bad about Ensign Digby. She must feel just awful. I know I would." She was so young. From the Symbiont's view everyone on the away team was extremely young. Too late to rewind.
"While Commander Hughes and Romilly continue on a plan, how about you and I scout the surrounding area." La'Mara suggested. She had thought about sending Chan to catch up with S'Louk, Syda, and Digby, but if she did that she'd be sending the wrong message: that she didn't trust them to get the job done and do it correctly. That was the last thing she wanted to insinuate.

"After that landing I'm surprised any of us can concentrate."
"Truthfully I am feeling a bit bad about Ensign Digby. She must feel just awful. I know I would."
"She seems very self conscience, and not entirely sure of herself. Perhaps I can talk to her, I was the same way when I was just getting started, but then you probably already knew that."
Her self confidence issues were probably listed in her records, mainly on her test scores in school...
"While Commander Hughes and Romilly continue on a plan."
"I'm almost amazed at how quickly the Commander and Romilly came to a possible solution, I would never have pegged those two as capable of working peacefully together."
Mainly because Romilly seems to rub everyone the wrong way...
"How about you and I scout the surrounding area?"
"Sounds like a good idea Captain, have a preferred direction or shall we chose at random?"

"She seems very self conscience, and not entirely sure of herself. Perhaps I can talk to her, I was the same way when I was just getting started, but then you probably already knew that."
La'Mara thought on it a bit. "Perhaps that's not such a bad idea. The more helping hands the better." More than just one person giving encouragement, and personal experiences just might help Ensign Digby some. It could also help in the way of making friends too. People that can help because they've been there done that.
La'Mara lightly laughed when Chan mentioned Hughes and Romilly. "While Commander Romilly might not be the easiest person to get along with, Commander Hughes can be pretty easy going at times," La'Mara subconsciously ran her index finger, briefly along the bottom of her lower lip; almost as if she were adjusting her lipstick. The shared kiss in the holodeck had come to mind. "maybe even a bit flexible; I suppose." La'Mara almost shrugged.
And thank the heavens the subject matter turned.
"Why don't you choose?" La'Mara suggested. She might be the captain, but she did appreciate her officers input, and suggestions.

"Perhaps that's not such a bad idea. The more helping hands the better."
Janet figured it could wait until they had a viable ride home before speaking to the ensign
"While Commander Romilly might not be the easiest person to get along with, Commander Hughes can be pretty easy going at times, maybe even a bit flexible; I suppose."
"I suppose that does explain it."
Janet hadn't really spent much time around Commander Hughes, sure they'd worked together on the bridge and there was that game of 'I spy' they had played with Faith, but all in all she was still getting to know him, and La'Mara for that matter. She had become to used to Captain Prince and Commander McKnight that the sudden change of First Officer had caught her drastically off guard and even the not so sudden change of Captain hadn't helped her settle back into her routine either...
"Why don't you choose?"
"Alright, I believe the others headed west, so I think we should start with North, run alongside their direction and then circle around East to South and eventually meet up with them before returning to the shuttle, that should give as a pretty good security perimeter in a three hundred and sixty degree circumference."
She liked having a large amount of room to work with, especially when there are so many unknowns around...

"Alright then, let's be off." La'Mara said cheerfully as she opened up her tricorder. "Would you like to lead the way or shall I?" It was a valid question. Not to mention it was good to give people a choice so they didn't think you were just constantly bossing them around or keeping a tight leash or too much of a watchful eye. Besides, Chan's suggestion was sound.

[OOC: Marty said to go ahead with this, but you guys feel free to time it around the stuff you're doing, like I said I am in absolutely no rush!]
Hector emerged from the crash site a little over an hour and a half later, lugging with him a miniature version of the shuttle. He hadn't bothered to make it look attractive -- it was about the size of a football, and the correct shape to account for aerodynamics, but he hadn't bothered with any fiddly details. Internally it contained a miniature warpcore and the correct propulsion engines.
In his other hand, he had a cobbled together control they he hadn't taken the time to put a cover on; it was a mess of wires and it had a small gear stick attached. He looked around for Commander Hughes. Normally he wouldn't wait for permission, but it was a two man job: he needed someone to scan the thing from the Paris as it was flown.

Between his stints of assisting the chief engineer, Christian had been out to look around a bit. He thought the world was beautiful in and of itself, with the sky's purple hue, the colourful flowers. The Paris had landed on top of a hill, so they could see for miles all the way down to the sea, which shared a bit of the sky's purple hue.
"Well, she's a beauty!" he said, looking at the thing. "An absolute engineering achievement. Let's call her the Mini Flier." He looked at Hector, waiting for a minute to expect him to launch it. "Well, what are you waiting for?" he asked. "Take us out, Mr Romilly!" He chuckled.
He went over to the Paris's sensor arrays, ready to operate them.

"Alright then, let's be off." "Would you like to lead the way or shall I?
Chan pulled out her tricorder but also double checked her phaser before speaking.
"If it's all the same to you Captain, I think I'll lead. This way if we encounter anything dangerous I'll be first to deal with it so you can assist or go for help, can't risk losing our captain on a strange planet now can we?"
She smiled as she finished her statement and asked her question. She then began moving away from the shuttle in a northerly direction, according to her tricorder anyway, she hoped it was still functioning properly...

"I don't think we'll encounter anything too dangerous, but thanks for your concern." La'Mara said pleasantly and genuinely, with a smile. She also knew, but didn't let on, over ninety seven different martial arts, and knew of many many different ways how to kill using just a finger or a foot. Thanks Jix. La'Mara thought back on a few of his memories.
Out of all the hosts personalities Jix was the hardest to keep suppressed. The fights were not so bad, nor the teaching, but ogling woman, well... "Don't want to risk loosing you either."
La'Mara commented as she followed Chan's lead. La'Mara tapped a few buttons on her tricorder. "So, what are some of your favorite things?" La'Mara asked trying to make conversation as well as trying to get to know one of her crew better.

"So, what are some of your favorite things?"
She caught herself about to hum, and possible sing badly, an old song about a few of ones favorite things when the captain asked that question, but instead just sang it in her head while she answered.
"I'll say this, cookies, chocolate and ice cream, preferably all at the same time..."
She said with a smile then added, with the hint of a musical note...
"...these are a few of my favorite things..."
She stopped herself from singing the song fully as she was well aware her voice could not hit the notes properly and was afraid of sounding like a dying alien animal of some kind...
"I also enjoy music from all era's of Earth history. How about yourself Captain?"
Now she was going to get to know the captain and that would be helpful in the future, maybe she'd even learn something that she could inform others of so they wouldn't be intimidated by the new commanding officer once they got back to the ship, if they got back to the ship... This was the first time Janet had considered the possibility that they may be stuck here for an indeterminable amount of time...
"Oh, Captain... If I may suggest, it might be prudent for us to try and locate some vegetation or animal life that could be used as a source of food, should we be stranded here longer than the shuttles supply stores are designed for."
There goes her survivalist nature at it's best... again...

"...these are a few of my favorite things..."
La'Mara laughed softly. It had been funny in the unexpected sort of way. And knowing the song as well, La'Mara started to sing it in her head, now that it had gotten stuck then accidentally. All music, good to know. "Oh, me?" Well, where to start? "Raindrops on roses. Whiskers on kittens..." La'Mara started of cheerfully with as a light joke. Well maybe sort of: She did like raindrops on roses and found kittens to be simply adorable, like every other baby animal.
"I like a lot of things. And I'm also always up to try something new." Where would be a good place to start? "I like to work with my hands. Basket weaving, and pottery are two things I enjoy. Then there's watching plays, writing; oh I love to write stories and poems the old fashioned way, on paper! Let's see... there's also rock climbing and horseback riding, boxing and karate. Oh! And I just adore children. They're simply wonderful! On my old ship, when I was still a commander I used to play with a little girl named Sandy quite often. We'd tell stories, and color."
Ah. Memories.
"The chirping of birds when the sun starts to rise. Always an enjoyable thing. Unfortunately that doesn't happen in space, but we do get a swell consolation prise: The stars." La'Mara then outstretched her hand at the plant life and sky. "All this; simply beautiful. Of course if you look at things close enough you can see beauty in everything."
She thought briefly. "The shuttle coming down like it did for instance." She said by way of example. "If we hadn't crashed you and I would not have really gotten to really see this beautiful planet, Commander Hughes and Commander Romilly might not be on the verge of a friendship, and you and I might not have gotten a chance to jump into a conversation. Speaking of conversation, I'm told I sometimes talk too much, so feel free to let me know if you think your ears are about to fall off."
"Oh, Captain... If I may suggest, it might be prudent for us to try and locate some vegetation or animal life that could be used as a source of food, should we be stranded here longer than the shuttles supply stores are designed for."
"Good idea."
