"...and I never said you couldn't take care of yourself, however, why should you feel the need to over exert yourself when I am here to do it for you?"
"You discreetly implied it. And I don't need someone to do my fighting for me, I'm quite capable of taking care of myself. I'm no porcelain doll mind you, and further more if anyone needs help around here it's you. Putting yourself into that force field...I highly question your sanity."
"On another note, you trusted Vidia; don't try and deny it. Another reason to question your sanity. Who in their right mind trusts one of the locals in a fight to the finish? In all probability they are going to band together no matter what. I knew she was trouble, and no, it has nothing to do with the kiss she gave you. But anyone who flaunts their stuff ought not to be trusted. It's a classic female maneuver used a lot because sooooo many guys get easily distracted that a woman can pull over anything."
Shar clenched a fist. "So help me if you mention jealousy or takes one to know one I'll gladly loose my rank and be confined to the brig just to pop ya one. I'm not jealous at all. I only kissed you to prove a point." But you enjoyed it.
Rounding a corner Sharpay looked over her shoulder. "Feel any better?"
Naturally she was referring to the state he had been in earlier, not the ball of words that she had tossed into his side of the court.

Vidia had taken Trish and the group of children to one of the building underground where Captain Prince and Lieutenant Xena were. Vidia had some explaining to do and their engineers some repairing to the processing chamber so they could extract the necessary components from the children to help power the cities.
When Vidia had taken them Trish did not fight back; it would have been too risky, aside from that she was not exactly a fighter at heart. She was worried about Mishtak and Sharpay. She had no clue where Vidia had sent them. If only this were nothing but a dream.
"All of you in this room for now." They were shoved where the captain and Xena were snooping around. At least they were together again, that was a good thing. If only now they could get out. They had passed a hanger on the way, maybe they could use the ship inside after most were out of the way.

Lydia went over to the console Xena was at. "I think it's asking for a password." It would be logical to assume seeing as everything they were doing was illegal or at least should be and so far only the leaders knew about. "Let's see if-" Lydia stopped talking as she heard some people on the outside. She looked at the door, somewhat apprehensive. She was quite relieved in a way when she saw it was the ACMO. But was it the real one?

"You discreetly implied it."
"You're reading to much into things..."
"I don't need someone to do my fighting for me, I'm quite capable of taking care of myself."
"...Yes, you are capable of taking care of yourself, and judging by the state of the men I passed on my way in, you've more than proved it..."
"I'm no porcelain doll mind you"
"...Of course not." and no one said you were, you just keep over analyzing everything, not that I blame you, or would tell you again either...
"and further more if anyone needs help around here it's you. Putting yourself into that force field...I highly question your sanity."
"My sanity? I needed to get a proper reading I certainly wasn't going to throw you into the bleep thing, and I knew it wouldn't kill me after my first bump into it after we fell."
"On another note, you trusted Vidia; don't try and deny it. Another reason to question your sanity. Who in their right mind trusts one of the locals in a fight to the finish? In all probability they are going to band together no matter what. I knew she was trouble"
"I had good reason to trust her, she did give me important information before I came down into this place, and she was being led to her death when we found her down here. At the time it seemed as though we could trust her, now we know differently. You are not perfect, do not try to act like you have never made a mistake."
"and no, it has nothing to do with the kiss she gave you. But anyone who flaunts their stuff ought not to be trusted. It's a classic female maneuver used a lot because sooooo many guys get easily distracted that a woman can pull over anything."
That kiss did seem to set Shar over the edge though...
"So help me if you mention jealousy or takes one to know one I'll gladly loose my rank and be confined to the brig just to pop ya one. I'm not jealous at all. I only kissed you to prove a point."
he stood there a moment, looking at her with a raised eyebrow...
"You are trying to cover your true emotions by forcing yourself to be angry with everything and everyone for no real reason, if I didn't know you were human, I'd almost believe you to be a Klingon..."
"Feel any better?"
"Do you? You've vented on just about everything..."
He stepped closer to her
"...You've even gone so far as to state your willingness to be demoted for striking a senior officer in order to defend your actions..."
He removed his pips from his collar and dropped them to the ground, he then approached her, and removed the pip from her collar as well.
"... now there is no rank down here, there is only us, you and me, and apparently one of us has a problem with the other, so why don't you get it all out of your system?"
He knew there was more going through her head than she was willing to admit, he needed her calm,. coolheaded and collected, and if that meant letting her throw a few punches to relax, than he would gladly be her punching bag. She wasn't the only one that needed to blow off some steam, he had done so by enduring the pain of the forcefield, but it was obvious she worked differently. He wondered if he had enjoyed the kiss earlier, he knew that somewhere deep inside he had, but that was a different matter, they were alone here, they could do things here that would stay between the two of them, he found it oddly comforting that the two of them were alone here. Though some things could make life aboard the ship, awkward at times, he was pretty sure they needed this time to clear the air and allow their friendship to grow just that much more.

"Me? Reading too much into things? Hardly think so! You don't even know me well enough to make a statement like that. The nerve."
"My sanity? I needed to get a proper reading I certainly wasn't going to throw you into the bleep thing, and I knew it wouldn't kill me after my first bump into it after we fell."
"So what? You like know everything now? It could have been on a rotation ya know. Meaning the first jolt is just a warning! Think before you act! It's not entirely all that hard. You could have been killed! Life ended, ceasing to be, six feet under, cut short, resting in peace!"
"I had good reason to trust her, she did give me important information before I came down into this place, and she was being led to her death when we found her down here. At the time it seemed as though we could trust her, now we know differently. You are not perfect, do not try to act like you have never made a mistake."
"I know I'm not perfect, far, very far from it! And when exactly did I act like I never made a mistake?" Sharpay folded her arms. "And so what if she gave you important information?! You have a lot to learn about the art of deception. It was all an act! You let her play you for a fool. The oldest trick in the book." Shar ran her fingers through her hair in frustration. "Never thought a person like you could fall for it! Remind me to teach you about acting sometime."
"You are trying to cover your true emotions by forcing yourself to be angry with everything and everyone for no real reason, if I didn't know you were human, I'd almost believe you to be a Klingon..."
"Bucking to be ships counselor? And there is a reason! Always is!" Shar stomped her foot. "Oh!" Insult and compliment in the same sentence. Never thought that could ever happen.
"Do you? You've vented on just about everything..."
"Not yet I haven't." Shar remarked dryly.
He stepped closer, and Shar felt her heart quicken. Things were whirling so quickly and unexpectedly Shar didn't know if she should take a step forwards or a step back. Normally she'd have taken a step forward to show she was not afraid, but in this sense she was a little scared; not that about the possibility of getting physically injured, more so to do with emotion. She had finally made a friend, and now she might loose one all in the short while.
Shar closed her eyes when Mishtak removed her pip from her collar. She opened her eyes in time to see them tossed to the ground. He must be crazy.
"... now there is no rank down here, there is only us, you and me, and apparently one of us has a problem with the other, so why don't you get it all out of your system?"
"Are you insinuating I have a problem with you? That's how it sounds." Shar looked to the pips then back to Mishtak. Was this a trick? "Your word that there is no rank and what happens stays off record."
Sharpay was not about to throw out something that could be even more career damaging than things she'd already said. She'd not deck the halls till she was sure.

"Are you insinuating I have a problem with you? That's how it sounds."
"That is how you are acting..."
"Your word that there is no rank and what happens stays off record."
"... my word of honor as a warrior, whatever happens between us from now until we regroup with the others will remain between us until we are welcomed home in Sto-vo-kor."
He looked down at the pips and stepped toward her again, leaving enough room for her to do one of many things, she could take a swing at him, she could back away (he highly doubted she would take that option), she could step forward and prove she does not back down, or she could do any number of things he hadn't thought of, but it was up to her where this would go, he could feel his heart beating, something he had paid little attention to over the years. He wondered what her heart beat sounded like, he wondered what she was thinking, he was no councilor but he had taken enough classes at the academy to pick up a few things. Star fleet thought a Klingon should have more social classes that taught compassion and human behavior, he found them to be boring and preferred the combat and survival classes. His mind had wandered enough and he came back to the present aware that the hall seemed to be closing in around them, they were the inly two people here, just Mishtak and Sharpay, and the ball was in her court so to speak...

Shar was quiet for a few moments. Word of honor as a warrior...I can live with that. It wasn't like Sharpay to take people at face value much less their word, especially men. This case however was a little different than others she had run into over the years. Aside from that her instincts said she could trust him. "Alright." Sharpay knelt down and put the little bomb she had constructed on the ground, stood back up and used her foot to move it aside. No reason for either to get blown up.
Did Baby Bliss go on a shooting spree? Shar wondered as Mishtak took another step closer. Gah! She didn't know how to take what she was feeling. The only people that she let herself care about had been her adopted parents. "Darn you!"
She balled her right hand into a fist and took a jab at Mishtak. She then dipped to the ground and extended a leg as she spun to knock him off his feet. She was ready to pounce, but hesitated.

She balled her right hand into a fist and took a jab at Mishtak.
The jab came before he expected it to and landed square against his jaw, he felt it...
She then dipped to the ground and extended a leg as she spun to knock him off his feet.
He was slightly more ready for this and managed to land in such a way as to spring himself back to his feet...
She was ready to pounce, but hesitated.
He saw her hesitate and used that as his opening, he sprang forward and came face to face with her, He could have struck her several times but did not, he did however move as if he might, and at the moment right before impact drew back. He then rolled away and regained his footing, taking a defensive stance against her next barrage of attacks, for he knew there would be more... many more until she was either too tired to fight, or she ran out of things to fight about...
"Well Shar, is this helping yet? Or shall we dance a little more?
He was also thinking this wasn't such a good idea as he was still weakened from his run in with the force field. He doubted he'd be able to stay ahead of her for very long in this fight, he just hoped he could manage to stay with her for it's entirety... he knew she needed this, and as her friend he wanted to give her what she needed...

She truly expected him to hit her, but he didn't. Actually that made her rather angry. If one has the advantage should they not take it? Then again, she had hesitated, something unlike her to do, which is why he had gotten that upper hand. That's what she told herself anyway.
He rolled away.
"Well Shar, is this helping yet? Or shall we dance a little more?
"Stalling for time?" Shar quipped as she got to her feet. "And don't tell me that's all you got you third rate son of a Ferengi merchandiser! Come and get me!"
She rushed at him, "She-ya!" placing her hands on his shoulders when she got close enough to flip over him. Turning swiftly she pulled his shoulder so he'd be facing her as she threw a punch to his gut, stomped on his foot then grabbed his head and smacked his forehead with hers. Ouch! Mental note; only do that with Humans.

"Password? Well, I guess some hacking is in order." Xena began to push some buttons on the console as well when she too had heard the noise. She was quick to reach for her phaser, and be ready for a fight. Lieutenant Rei and a few children were thrown into the room. Seeing that it was Trishany didn't set Xena's mind at ease. I t could be a trap.
"Lieutenant, I hope you don't mind this question, but these children here reminds me; what was it like again to have to leave your only child behind on Vulcan?"
Yes, it was a test. Lieutenant Rei had no children, no husband, and she had never once stepped foot onto Vulcan. In this instance Xena was glad for detailed personnel files. If the woman before them got the answer wrong Xena was going to shoot on sight.

Trish looked relieved to see her crew mates, well that was until she saw Xena's hand at her phaser. What was going on? Did they not know who she was? Memory wipe happen or something? Yes, like anyone, Trish had become nervous.
"Lieutenant, I hope you don't mind this question, but these children here reminds me; what was it like again to have to leave your only child behind on Vulcan?"
"What?" Trish looked utterly confused. What a question to ask. "Lieutenant, I...I don't have a child." Trish slowly tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "I've never even been to Vulcan. I don't know where you got your information, but it's sorely inaccurate."

"Stalling for time? And don't tell me that's all you got you third rate son of a Ferengi merchandiser! Come and get me!"
He growled in preparation for her attack, such an insult, such fire in her... he didn't know whether to recite poetry and duck or continue the fight...
She rushed at him, "She-ya!" placing her hands on his shoulders when she got close enough to flip over him.
He telegraphed her movement, and caught her slightly as she flipped, pushing her off balance slightly...
Turning swiftly she pulled his shoulder so he'd be facing her as she threw a punch to his gut
as she tried to turn him, he turned himself for the fun of it...
stomped on his foot
that slightly annoyed him, the attack of a child...
then grabbed his head and smacked his forehead with hers.
Her head slammed into his, his forehead ridges were bone and probably hurt her a heck of a lot more than it had hurt him, but he realized she wanted him to fight back, the insult had been enough to prove that, as she staggered back from head to head contact he stepped forward, slightly crouch, turned sideways and lifted his knee directly into her chest with enough force to knock the wind out of her without breaking anything...
he dropped his knee as quickly as he had raised it, and before she knew what had hit her, he was behind her, his arms wrapped under hers, with his fingers interlaced behind her head, holding her in a full nelson, her options were head butt him again, highly doubtful, or kick... or she could try and wiggle free, but he held her firmly, not enough to hurt her unless she struggled...

Oh! Well, she had said come get me, and apparently he took the words to heart. She found herself in his grip. Shar tried to wriggle free for just a minute. He was strong...a challenge. Shar stopped trying to get free as she panted. Yes, her breathing was a little shallow, but after a fight who's wouldn't be?
She began laughing. "I haven't had this much fun since...since the brawl in warp theory at...at the academy. It spilled out onto the streets of San Fransisco. I was lucky they didn't kick me out for good." Shar paused smirking. "If I remember correctly I broke his arm, but it's not like he didn't deserve it."
Shar closed her eyes for a minute. "What about you?"
"Oh, and just so you know I haven't given up. I never give up or surrender, so don't think for a minute that you won. Now turn me loose!"

"Dare I ask what started that fight?"
"What about you?"
"I have been in more than my fair share of fights and battles, and I do not wish to relive any of them at this moment... Perhaps we can discuss them over a drink off duty once we return to the ship."
"Oh, and just so you know I haven't given up. I never give up or surrender, so don't think for a minute that you won."
"No, I suppose you don't. You don't give up, even when the odds are stacked against you. You don't retreat, even though you are outnumbered, outmatched or overwhelmed. And you certainly never back down even if your career, or worse yet your life, is on the line... I find this trait most remarkable pity such fire is wasted on a human, you would have one hell of a Klingon."
"Now turn me loose!"
"If I were to do so, I would be admitting a defeat, I cannot do that, for you and I are both stubborn when it comes to things of this nature..."
He thought a moment, he was getting tired of holding her still, and was pretty sure she preferred her feet on the ground solidly, not just her toes... he had an idea, now she needed to accept the proposal or they could be in for a very long night... as if they weren't to begin with.
"... I offer a deal, I release you, neither of us has lost or won, and we continue this on the holodeck once we get off this miserable planet. Agreed?"
Now the ball was once again in her court... he seemed to be leaving it there quite often lately, was he testing her, falling for her, or simply allowing her to be in control for the time being to make her feel better... not even he was entirely sure anymore...

"Well...maybe over that drink I'll tell you."
"Now who has a problem with who?! Discriminatory pig!" Sharpay's blood was starting to boil again. "What do you have against Humans? Mind you the people who raised me were Human, well my mother was half Betazoid, but that's a different story! And hello, you joined Starfleet which just so happens to be mostly populated by my species!"
Shar did her best to try kicking, but found it rather difficult.
"... I offer a deal, I release you, neither of us has lost or won, and we continue this on the holodeck once we get off this miserable planet. Agreed?"
"No!" Shar shouted stubbornly. "I wouldn't go to the holodeck with you now, or even have that drink if you begged, hollored, or ordered me too! And I broke his arm because he said I was wrong, made a smart remark about adopted people, and made an unflattering remark about one of my parents being fully Human!"
"I do have one question though; would your mate approve of you liking the kiss Vidia gave you and fighting me?"
That last bit was idle curiosity.
