Slightly stunned at the suddeness of it all, Mishtak did not have time to think, merely to act, he reached Sharpay just as she asked him what he was waiting for... He leaned down, as if to offer her a hand and paused...
"Are you sure you want help Ensign, I do recall you not wanting my help the last time around."
He smiled as best he could and reached out to grab her arm and help her back up, as he did so he looked at Vidia...
"I trust this was merely an accident, for if you attempted to harm a member of my crew I shall have choice but to treat you as though you were an enemy, and you have seen how I deal with an enemy..."
his mind slowly regained control and as he helped Sharpey out of the hole he replayed everything that had happened... 'did she call Vidia what he that he called her, a Klingon curse, uttered by a human, now that was an odd occurrance indeed. He made a mental note to re-read her personel file when they got back to the ship, he needed to make sure she was indeed human and not some hybrid Klingon genetic alteration... thugh if she was... he shook the thought from his mind, he needed to stay focused, and he needed to get the women focused as well...
pulling Sharpay out of the hole he looked between the two women.
"Would you two calm yourselves, at least until we get back to the surface... Vidia either help us or get out of the way, Ensign that goes for you as well."
he hated to put his foot down like that but he had no other choice at the moment...

Trishany already knew something was brewing between Vidia and Sharpay; you need not be a mind reader to know that. It was very obvious to anyone that had eyes. For heavens sake a blind person could probably pick up the anger. The mood was thicker than any storm, or so it seemed. For the sake of the children Trishany was already a step a head of Lieutenant Mishtak's order of taking care of the children.
Figuring they had already seen enough violence she walked them over to another part of the cave and had them sit down as she began telling them a story. A pleasant Betazed story to help calm any frazzled nerves. She did see Ensign Harper fall, and Trish was compelled to jump to her feet and rush over to help, but the young ensign had proven herself to be very resilient; especially when she got up and knocked Vidia clean across the floor. As much as Trish hated violence and wanted to doctor she felt that the children should come first in this particular case.
She could always tend to her shipmate later. Keep an eye on Commander McNight. Trish nodded. She could and would do that. But she totally missed the part of the trap door as one of the children had tugged on her uniform.

"Are you sure you want help Ensign, I do recall you not wanting my help the last time around."
"I didn't ask for help." Shar said as he pulled her up. "I wanted you to go after her. I can handle myself and anyone else that comes along!" Sharpay balled her hands into fists again. She was not tempted to punch the lieutenant, but restrained herself. She was not looking for a court marshal. She just wanted out and wanted out now.
"I knew we couldn't trust her. If you hadn't been so blinded you might have seen it coming too! When a pretty girl is around none of you seem to think with your mind. Yall think with the other end!"
"Would you two calm yourselves, at least until we get back to the surface... Vidia either help us or get out of the way, Ensign that goes for you as well."
"Alright. I'll stay out of the way." Sharpay folded her arms across her chest. Like you'll be able to get out without my 'voodoo' magic. Yes, Sharpay was simply being stubborn. When it came to being stubborn, if there was a metal for it she'd win the gold cup.

"I trust this was merely an accident, for if you attempted to harm a member of my crew I shall have choice but to treat you as though you were an enemy, and you have seen how I deal with an enemy..."
"Oh, of course." Vidia said innocently as possible. "I thought this was the lever that would lead us to the breach. Apparently I was wrong. Sorry about that." Vidia smiled. She then mildly shrugged. "Everyone's entitled to a mistake right?"
"Sorry about spitting in your face too. I didn't think you'd take it personally. It was to keep demons away and give good luck, that is one of our customs. You did fall after all. Just figured you could use all the luck you could get. Apparently I was wrong about that too." Vidia rubbed her jaw and cheek. "Quite the spitfire." She commented.
Doing away was harder than I thought.
She then remembered a wire that was just under the leaf covered ground that was by their ankles. A trip wire. She was close to activate that too. You killed the man I was going to marry. Bending down she pushed a hidden rock. The wire came up tripping both officers causing them to fall down the trap door.
With them out of the way Vidia, after closing the door that would take Mishtak and Sharpay to a cell with an active forcefield, Vidia turned her sights upon Lieutenant Rei. "Doctor," Vidia picked up a weapon. "you and the children come with me."

Unable to act quick enough when the trap was sprung, he did his best to land on his feet, but failed miserably as he landed hard on his side. The pain shot an extra jolt of adrenaline through him and he was on his feet in seconds, looking around and discovering the forcefield, the hard way... it did not tickle...
"This is just great, that's the last time I trust a local that appears to be marked for death."
the anger in his voice could be felt far and wide by every sentient within ear shot. He then went to help Sharpay up after the fall.
"Ensign Harper... Sharpay, I am not the kind of person to ask forgiveness for my actions, however it seems after what has occurred that I should attempt to so I am s...so...sor... (Chokes slightly) Sorry... for allowing her to put us into this predicament."
he hated admitting when he was wrong, but his error in judgment had cost Sharpay and himself there freedom, and he could not fathom what it would cost Doctor Rei and the children...
"When we get out of here, I give you full permission to kill the taHqeq baktag to'ba petaQ in any way you see fit."
he did not mean for it to come out as a growl, but he felt betrayed on some level. He had called Vidia every insult in the book, but he would not be satisfied until she was properly dealt with, and that meant he needed Sharpay to be as clear headed as possible so the two of them could work together as they had in the past and solve this little hiccup in their escape plan...

"I am sick and tired of landing on the ground." Shar said after she had landed on her back; golden locks sprawled out all over the place. Looked almost like the scene in Sleeping Beauty only Shar was awake. Sharpay did not accept Mishtak's help, she got up on her own. She kept silent after he apologized. Shar was looking at the force field, examing the cell with first her brown eyes.
"No. Living with yourself and mistakes can be more of a punishment than death. Death would be an escape for anyone with inner turmoil. Vidia will live. She will live suffering with guilt, and pain. Trust me on this one." Shar looked to Mishtak. "It hurts." Sharpay spoke sounding as she had experienced that sentence herself.
Standing Sharpay walked over to the force field. "As far as trust, there is no such thing. Just battle." She said icily. Seeing a small box Sharpay carefully reached out to try and touch it as it was so close to the cage, but she was unsuccessful in her effort and got stung by the force field. "Darn!" She exclaimed angrily as she shook her hand.
"If I could just..." Shar took a breath. "Where's my tool? The one I kept in my hair." Shar questioned as she got to her knees to look for it. "Why don't you make yourself useful and scan the force field, and the outside. See where we are. Maybe I can make a little beacon with our combadges or a type of force field using our phasers to disrupt the one holding us in this...this cage!"
Shar was frustrated, and angry. She needed to get back to the ship as soon as possible or at least come across someone that she could two fist. A vigorous exercise like that usually helped her to clear her mind and not snap or speak so sharply at fellow officers.

"If I could just..." Shar took a breath. "Where's my tool? The one I kept in my hair."
Pulling out his tricorder he scanned everything he could. He then reached down, picked up the strange gizmo she had dropped and handed it to her.
"I believe this is yours Ensign."
"See where we are."
"We are in a hole Shar, that much should be obvious, unless you hit your head harder than you think you did."
He stepped closer to the force Field and scanned it, to test it further he purposely stepped into it and scanned it as it shocked him violently. He stepped back after several seconds...
"Feels like being hit with several pain sticks at once, it will most definitely get your blood pumping, if it does not kill you first."
his tricorder had recorded the scans of the Field in a dormant state and now in an active state, he then compared the two, he was unable to get any readings from beyond the field...
"I am not accustomed to being on this side of one of these..."
He took his Comm badge from his shirt and drew his phaser, then handed them both to Sharpay.
"... hopefully these will help..."
as he handed her the items he looked her over, careful that she did not see him, but he was concerned for her well being and needed to see if she had been injured during the fall, but he knew she would never let him scan her directly, and so he relied on what his eyes told her about her. His instincts said she was in the mood for a good fight, Kahless knows he was too, but she was not the person he wished to bludgeon with his bare hands...
He began thinking about her words from earlier...
"No. Living with yourself and mistakes can be more of a punishment than death. Death would be an escape for anyone with inner turmoil. Vidia will live. She will live suffering with guilt, and pain. Trust me on this one."
He understood that theory, better than some he thought. He had made plenty of mistakes in his life, and according to his father several more than he counted himself, not the least of which was choosing the uniform he was currently wearing... his father never understood why Mishtak and his older brother Merzan had left the Empire to join Star fleet, even if they were allies, General Kabarann would never understand it. Some days Mishtak didn't understand his own choice, if this were a Klingon crew, the Matalian would already be wiped out and the ship on it's way home.
He heard her words from earlier once more in his head...
"As far as trust, there is no such thing. Just battle."
It had been spoken with the conviction of a Klingon, he had heard that tone before, but never from someone as fragile looking, or as human, as Ensign Sharpay Harper... He had felt a kind of connection with her after their time together on the shuttle craft during their first mission together, he had learned more about her during that time than he thought most of the crew had ever learned about her... he also got the vague impression he knew more about her then even her academy roommate... He regarded her once more with an inquisitive eye... yes, she appeared to be human, and blond, and very attractive by human standards, but underneath that fragile appearance beat the heart of a real warrior, a true woman as he would call her... he found that oddly attractive even though physically he was not attracted to her at all. It was then he realized he was in fact attracted to her warrior spirit, and that would make things... uncomfortable to say the least... he shook the thought away again, and returned to his scans of the force Field, once more recording it in a dormant state followed by an active state as he stuck his arm into it once more. The Field tingled up his arm, his breathing became shallow, and labored, but he kept his arm there for a full minute, after which he fell to his knees upon removing his arm from the field...
He offered his tricorder to Harper.
"I have gotten the best readings that I can... I hope it is enough... for you to work your... wonderful... magic..."
the strain of pushing himself through the field finally caught up to him and he slumped to the ground, barely conscious, his lungs burned as if they were on fire inside and out, his head felt like it was spinning in six different directions and his limbs felt as though they weighed ten times their normal weight... he just sat there, leaning against the wall, trying to force himself to recover from his actions... he needed to be well to get them out of their and find the doctor, deal with Vidia, escape the underground fortress and rescue the Captain (again) as well as Lt. Xena...
he was certain he would need to rest for a few minutes now though, as the world around him began to fade ever so slightly...

"I believe this is yours Ensign." "We are in a hole Shar, that much should be obvious, unless you hit your head harder than you think you did."
"Thank you." Shar said as she swiftly took the tool of hers that Mishtak had found. She began thinking on their problem when she heard the second sentence. Sharpay grabbed Mishtak by the arm and looked into his eyes. "Now is not the time to get smart with me." Shar snapped. After realizing what she did she quickly let go and said "Lieutenant."
Back to the problem at hand.
After Mishtak purposely stepped into the force field Sharpay kicked the side of the cell. "And you think I am accustomed to being caged, lieutenant?!" Sharpay began pacing back and forth in deep thought. If only one of them was an ex drone. That would make things easier.
She stopped pacing long enough to accept the combadge and phaser. "Thank you." Shar gave a nod of her head.
The force field made the frizzing sound again. "WOULD YOU STOP DOING THAT?!" Sharpay shouted as she waved her hands in the air. She was no doctor, but she knew that was not good for any ones health. She also did not want to loose a fellow officer. People were in and out of her life all the time, but that was partly because she let them, never really allowing anyone to get close. "I need your help lieutenant." Quickly she added; "so stop acting like a fool."
This was no time to start getting soft or being accused for caring about someone as a person.
"I have gotten the best readings that I can... I hope it is enough... for you to work your... wonderful... magic..."
"Oh no you don't." Sharpay went to Mishtak's side. "You're not leaving me, is that clear? No drifting unconscious or dieing." Sharpay stood, placed her arms under Mishtak's shoulders, like they did in hospitals, and dragged him over to one of the walls. She propped him up against the wall. "We have a date on the holodeck and I expect you to be there."
After making sure Mishtak was steady Sharpay looked at the readings from his tricorder. "We could have gotten the same data by throwing something into the force field." Shar tossed a rock as hard as she could at the force field. This was her fault, if she hadn't asked for a scan....
What was done is done. Shar sat on the ground next to Mishtak taking their items apart and using parts from them to construct a means of escape. Without even thinking or knowing it Shar began humming while she worked. It was "We Didn't Start The Fire" after humming "I Am A Rock, I Am An Island".

"Now is the time." Lydia told Xena. "Follow me." Captain Prince walked right into their territory and no one thought anything of it. To them she was just a copy, and the real Captain Prince had been killed along with the others on the away team. Lydia walked into one of the rooms. She was not quite sure what she was looking for, but she knew she and Xena had to put a stop to this before their doubles and other guards came back.

Xena was a little on edge about Captain Prince just going off instead of having her go out first. Xena was security after all. It was her job to protect the captain, ship, and crew. She stood by Captain Prince and walked into the same room, but still on red alert. Xena went over to one of the terminals in the rooms. She took out her tricorder and scanned it first. Seemed normal. Putting her tricorder away Xena tapped a few buttons. On the screen popped up some text with a blank white rectangle in the middle. "Captain." Xena whispered. "I think I found something."

Mishtak was not fully unconscious, but dazed enough that he did not hear everything going on, his eyes began to focus again, hearing the word date he thought he was dreaming, then he remembered they did have a date of sorts scheduled in the holodeck to run his calisthenics program together. He began to sit up farther, listening to her hum songs he did not know and work on her device.
"WOULD YOU STOP DOING THAT?! I need your help lieutenant. so stop acting like a fool. We could have gotten the same data by throwing something into the force field."
"If you check the readings, the field reacts differently to non-organic material than it does to organic material, the data you collected from your rock throwing, when compared to the data I collected should give you an idea on how to beat this system."
He remained seated, but looked down at the ground before speaking again
"*sigh* I know it was a risk, but it was a calculated risk that needed to be taken in order for us to get out of here."
He did not want her knowing how he was beginning to feel, it was unlike him to have issues with his feelings, he was a tough as nails security officer, a tactical officer and a warrior. Klingons have no words for like or even love, they tolerate and mate, nothing more... even the most romantic moments in Klingon culture involve large objects being thrown, lots of growling (and the men ducking often), being sentimental in any way was new to him, and quite scary, though that is another thing he would never willingly admit out loud.
His body still ached, so he did not attempt to stand yet, he simply leaned into the wall and watched Shar do her work. He did not think he would need to rest much longer, but he also did not like admitting that his strength was gone at the time being.

"Everyone always tires to get off on a mere technicality. Why am I not surprised you tired too?" Shar fiddled with the devices she was putting together. "Oh, and all force fields are not the same. For all you know this one could have been a skin ripper offer or a light cha on fire death match." Shar cleared her throat. "I think I have it." Shar tossed a mix of technology in the air and caught it like a baseball. It was hardly recognizable as Starfleet anymore.
"This ought to 'bring the house down'." Shar stated with a grin. "For those with sensitive ears I suggest plugging them." Shar walked over to the force field and placed the little bomb in the top corner near the generator. She pushed the button then fell to the floor covering her head.
The devise went KABOOM! The lights flickered, some stones shook loose as gravel fell, and the console exploded...wires and such on fire. The field dropped, among other things. The ground even quaked. "How's that for ya?" Shar stood and picked up the second one. Yes, she had made two. "Can you stand?"

"Everyone always tires to get off on a mere technicality. Why am I not surprised you tired too?"
Mishtak Smirked at her comment.
"Oh, and all force fields are not the same. For all you know this one could have been a skin ripper offer or a light cha on fire death match."
"You are correct, I had no way of knowing what affects it would have on me, but if it had killed me, you would have then known how to disable it and free yourself."
KABOOM! not boom, or bada-boom, but it went Kaboom, which was great as it literally brought down most of the house, and made someone's ears ring at the same time, he'd be sure to thank her for that later...
"Can you stand?"
"I believe so..."
He drew himself to his feet, very slowly and painfully, he was not quite back to one hundred percent, but a close fifty was good enough for him.
"... now, shall we review our assets before walking headfirst into more enemy traps?"
He was certain their weapons were limited, as his phaser had gone dead and his knife was still in the chest of a dead man. He checked his sleeves, and sure enough, his hidden mini phasers were still there. He pulled the one from his left sleeve and handed it to Sharpay, he then drew the one from his right sleeve and switched it to his right hand.
"At least we have something of an offense should the need arise."
he was fairly certain he saw her grab another hunk of machinery similar to the first bomb and he was glad to know that if they needed another cave in she would be able to give them a decent one. He steady himself once more and walked to the entrance where he peered down the corridor, expecting to see someone and being startled by the emptiness.
"Also Ensign, in case I forget later... thank you."

"You are correct, I had no way of knowing what affects it would have on me, but if it had killed me, you would have then known how to disable it and free yourself."
"I don't know if I should call that valiant or fool hearted. I don't need a knight in shining armor," I need a friend "So do us both a favor and never do that again if somehow we end up in the same situation." Shar stated plainly as she watched the way Mishtak get up. She didn't like it. He was still in pain, however Shar would not talk about it cause two things she knew for sure; pride, and never fuss over a Klingon.
"... now, shall we review our assets before walking headfirst into more enemy traps?"
For some reason she felt insulted. "Don't think I can take care of myself?" She looked at the mini phaser handed to her. "You sure these still work after coming into contact with the force field? And is it my imagination or do these keep getting smaller like food?"
Stepping out of the cell Shar looked both ways before deciding on the direction they both would take. "We'll go this way." She stated as she began leading the way.
"Also Ensign, in case I forget later... thank you."
"No thanks required. We needed to get out so I devised a way, would have done the same if I was alone. Matter of survival ya know. But," Shar stopped and turned to look at Mishtak. "you're welcome all the same. Can we get going now?"

"Can we get going now?"
"By all means..."
He followed her out into the hall and down the way she had decided on, the phasers did seem to keep getting smaller now that she mentioned it, and he couldn't help but long for a nice Bat'leth to swing into his enemy's faces, but that was not an option yet, though he was thinking about adding a Vhat-esque character into his holo programs, just for fun.
"...and I never said you couldn't take care of yourself, however, why should you feel the need to over exert yourself when I am here to do it for you?"
The continued down the hall, keeping their banter quiet in order to not alert anyone to their presence prematurely.
