A very nervous crewman stood at tactical trying to make a determination on whether or not traveling into the nebula would be a safe venture, lucky for him he was spared the spotlight as Lt. Mishtak exited the turbo lift and took over the station, the crewman was too nervous to speak and he simply pointed at random numbers and charts on the display before dashing off the bridge.
Mishtak watched him go saying:
"You'd think some of these new crewman had never had day one of academy training..." he wasn't speaking to anyone in particular, as a matter of fact he was studying the reports and scans of the nebula... Class two, no life signs, unusual Omicron radiation...
He did not recommend sending anyone into the nebula at any cost, but he knew this crew was full of very curious people and scientists, so exploration was a given. He did not like sending people in unprepared or under protected, even if he knew the tools best suited for the job were several years from completion at the present time...
"Captain, I do not see any security risks at the moment, but that is not to say they will not appear after the fact."
He had made his current determination, but if his scans showed anything hazardous he would change that quickly...
"...I recommend having the hazard team put on alert as well."
all bases are now covered...

The reports were in. Despite the fact that they did not have every single fact Lydia decided to also take Faith's word due to her heritage. And no known security risks, except the one risk they always faced as explorers. "If you think it's necessary to put the hazard team on alert." Lydia didn't really think it was needed, but if it would make him feel better. She had asked if there was a risk; can't blame anyone for wanting to take every precaution.
"Alright." Lydia tapped her combadge. "Prince to Harper, we're going into the nebula. Prepare to collect the omicron particles."
With a smile on her face Lydia stood and walked over to the silver railing toward helm. Leaning on it she said; "Lieutenant Ackron, take us in."

Mishtak continued his sensor sweeps but was still unable to get any clear readings other than it was a class two nebula emitting Omicron particles. He was fairly certain that the ship would be safe, but he sent a message to Lt. Xena to have the Hazard Team standing by, he assumed she and Crewman Chan were both still in the mess hall and one message was easier to send then two, especially as he saw an incoming text of his own...
Had fun in the holodeck and the party in the mess hall. Looking forward to tonight. Your par'Mach'kai.
He had not expected her to refer to herself as his par'Mach'kai, it was a name he had called her by on the holodeck but her reaction was not what he had expected and now it seemed that the doubts were fading quickly. He could not help but smile at his station, anyone looking at him would think he had either gone mad or that he was going to break something (one can never truly tell with a Klingon)

"Shields are at maximum and holding, hull integrity is at one hundred percent."
"Good words to hear." Lydia commented as she glanced over her shoulder only to notice Lieutenant Mishtak smiling. "If I had known diving into class two nebulas made you happy I may have asked you to lend a hand in the astrometrics lab." Lydia lightly joked as she looked back to the view screen.
Suddenly there was a flash of light as the ship lightly shook.
Lydia was now coming onto the bridge like she had done a few minutes before hand.
"Have you gathered anything else about this class two nebula other than the unusual readings of omicron particles?" Lydia asked as she went round and sat in her chair. She looked at the center console. "No lifeforms? Is this any ones home?" A few more scans and opinions from her officers and she just might decide to take the ship inside to collect some of those omicron particles, assuming they weren't essential to anything.

Mishtak remained at his post, watching the sensors, there was something new begining to appear and then a flash of light...

Faith had taken the ship in per orders. She had been a tad surprised that Captain Prince had not told her what speed to go. Most captains would have despite it being very obvious. Apparently Captain Prince was one of those captains that trusted their crews judgment, which was a good thing and have been known to put some people at ease. Just knowing that your captain trusts you to make the right choice.
That still didn't make the scanning any easier. Though the readings did show that they had started collecting the omicron particles. Then there was the flash of light as the ship lightly shook.
Not a word did Faith make when she came to the bridge. She just simply listened to all the going ons about her. Mostly the questions and answers. Hopefully she hadn't missed anything important. "Well, if anyone is interested I'm not sensing anything out there." Naturally that was not enough to go on. More scans of course. Not surprising. Though Faith was intrigued about going inside, even if it was just a class two. Going places is what she liked to do.

Lisa looked at the scans as Faith took the ship in, but she could not help glancing up towards the viewer in awe of the stellar phenomenon. There was something wondrous about every unexplored region of space, something...
Flash.
Having dressed quickly, Lisa came unto the Bridge and asked what Christian needed her for. The new XO had ambushed her over the commbadge in the turbolift and asked her, much to her amusement, if she was dressed and ready to come to the Bridge.
Lisa went about her work with excitement and determination, and some sort of feeling that she knew what she had to do without thinking about it. First, she checked the readings. Omicron particles, inconclusive scan for life signs. But then, that was only logical seeing as it was a Class Two Nebula. "Ma'am, it's a class 2 nebula. Our sensor readings are being distorted as with any nebula of that type and so we can't really be sure there's anything out there."
She thought for a while, unknowingly shorter than previously (as she'd experienced it before), then thought of the right answer. "But since it's omicron particles, I'd say humanoid life is highly unlikely under such circumstances." She looked some more at the data, which was quite useless otherwise. Harold Francis could just have said it was inconclusive and be done.
But she enjoyed the scent of a possible discovery and a good academic discussion. "In conclusion, Captain," she concluded. "Since we cannot depend on our sensor array, the only thing we can rule out is the absence of humanoid life. We'll have to go in to research it." She thought nothing of danger that might lie within the nebula; that was not her job. Her job was to facilitate the main mission of Starfleet: to explore and to discover.
"I recommend that we go in, pending a Security report," she said.

Christian sat at the very front of his seat the whole way, the scent of discovery metaphorically in his nostrils. He looked around the Bridge and saw most of the others had the same feeling. They...
Flash.
// Lisa here. Pleasure to speak to you, Commander. I'm coming your way with complete regard paid to Starfleet uniform regulations. //
Just as Christian was about to press his commbadge to tell her he'd see her soon enough, then, Lisa entered the Bridge and smiled at him. She was in her duty uniform, but little else had changed, including her hair: usually, she let it hang loose, but now it was still in a ponytail. Probably others wouldn't notice, but Christian did, by means of his autist senses. He smiled back as she took her station and asked what they had for her.
"Well," he said. "Have a look at the sensor readings on the nebula and tell us if it is likely to support life." Lisa started looking it over right away.
Tag: Lisa, then Christian again.

Having dressed quickly, Lisa came unto the Bridge and asked what Christian needed her for. The new XO had ambushed her over the commbadge in the turbolift and asked her, much to her amusement, if she was dressed and ready to come to the Bridge. The awkward remark seemed familiar, and Lisa tried to remember when Christian had asked her that question before. Strange, she thought. It's not very likely that we ever encountered such a situation before, so why do I remember that remark?
Lisa went about her work with excitement and determination, and some sort of feeling that she knew what she had to do without thinking about it. First, she checked the readings. Omicron particles, inconclusive scan for life signs. But then, that was only logical seeing as it was a Class Two Nebula. "Ma'am, it's a class 2 nebula. Our sensor readings are being distorted as with any nebula of that type and so we can't really be sure there's anything out there."
She thought for a while, strangely shorter than... when exactly? She recalled vaguely that they had encountered a similar situation. She thought of the right answer. "But since it's omicron particles, I'd say humanoid life is highly unlikely under such circumstances." She looked some more at the data, which was quite useless otherwise. Harold Francis could just have said it was inconclusive and be done.

She knew the Captain would order the ship in, and it wasn't her excellent social skills that suggested that to her. She just knew.

Christian nodded at the report made by Lieutenant Huygens, as he'd done before. As an autist, he had a clear and detailed memory, and he could not escape the feeling that he remembered every single thing Lisa had said, the way she'd said it, even the look on the face of Lieutenant Francis when he discovered Lisa, 3 years his junior, had caught him on a rather embarrassing omission. Undoubtedly, Christian thought, Harold would have been rethinking his lessons as a Starfleet Officer that moment.
He remembered that Lisa had looked a little annoyed at Lieutenant Francis, frowning as he repeated his conclusion that he could not tell them anything, bewildered that Lieutenant Francis had not grasped the nature of the place. Just like her, Christian thought. But as the argument progressed to the 'we'll never know for sure'-line, Christian saw another look in her eyes entirely: a kind of mix between dream and determination, looking to the Captain, then to the nebula on the viewscreen after she'd finished her recommendation. She smiled at the prospect.
That memory didn't bother Christian much. What bothered him was the fact that it was entirely similar to what Lisa did at the moment. The exact same words, exact same body language, exact same intonation, exact same movements, down to the smallest detail Chris could remember. Just that moment, he felt overwhelmed by the feeling of deja vu, closing in on him from all sides, and he wanted to ask her if they'd experienced something like this before.
He didn't want her to give another 'don't be silly'-look so soon after he witnessed her giving poor Harold one of those... or two of those, actually.
So he simply waited what lay ahead. And somehow he wouldn't be surprised.

Readings were coming in, but nothing requiring any immediate Security attention... and there was nothing noteworthy on tactical either... then there was a flash...

Mishtak watched him go, thinking to himself: <You'd think some of these new crewman had never had day one of academy training...> he was studying the reports and scans of the nebula... Class two, no life signs, unusual Omicron radiation... Something jumped out at him about the type of particles it was emitting, but he couldn't quite put his finger on what it was... Something was feeling terribly familiar...
He did not recommend sending anyone into the nebula at any cost, but he knew this crew was full of very curious people and scientists, so exploration was a given. He did not like sending people in unprepared or under protected, even if he knew the tools best suited for the job were several years from completion at the present time...
"Captain, I do not see any security risks at the moment, but that is not to say they will not appear later... I recommend having the Hazard team stand by on alert as a precaution."
He had made his current determination, but if his scans showed anything hazardous he would change that quickly...
He had the eerie feeling that he had done all this before, he was not familiar with the term Deja Vu as he had never experienced it before, and he wasn't entirely certain he was experiencing it now... but something was definitely off about this whole situation...
Something he knew, but couldn't pin point...
