(OOC: After discussion with the Capt'n, this thread can be used for all Bridge activity during the mission "the Colour Red".)
"Bridge," Christian said. Shortly after, the familiar humming of the Turbolift started and he waited patiently until he was there. Going up a few decks still took some time even at high velocity. Christian always liked computers; they were reliable and always responded in the same way. Unlike humans (or Cardassians, Andorians, Klingons, Betazoids, et cetera), computers were relatively easy to understand and predict. Hearing the familiar bleep announcing his arrival, Christian stepped out onto the Bridge.
Christian had only served on one Intrepid-class Starship before: the USS Beagle. He had been a young Lieutenant Junior Grade then, on that mission into unexplored territory, and the Bridge possessed a kind of mystery and awe for him then, because he always had the idea Captain Charles was trying to shield him from being out there too often. Cpt. Charles had mentored him kindly, though, but was too worried about breaking Christian's career through risking an incident on the Bridge.
But he recognised this, and it seemed even more vivid now. The polished room lighted in the colour blue, the round space with in the middle the Captain's chair, surrounded by the Bridge Officers. His station was at his familiar spot. Though it didn't have the comfortable chair of Operations aboard the Galaxy-class Baden Powell, he had memories of an Intrepid-class Ops station. It was more like a desk than a terminal, he thought, with a lot more panels and a lot more room. He found organising his thoughts was easier here.
He took over the station from a junior officer, opened up his manuals, starting with the general manual, digging things he already knew up. Then he proceeded with the specific manuals for the additional systems installed, marvelling at the advance in technology since last he manned the station on an Intrepid.

After getting everything squared away that she had to Lydia headed back to the bridge. She stepped out of the turbolift and to her left saw Lt. Commander Hughes at his station. She walked on over and leaned on the edge of the OPS station (outside naturally) letting Hughes have his space.
"How are you and your station getting along?" Captain Prince asked with a friendly smile. She generally liked to talk to those of her crew when she had the chance. It usually made thing more comfortable on both ends. Of course Starfleet always said that captains should maintain a distance from their crew, but Lydia thought just a little differently.
If one kept very distant, well you could end up being feared...that was different than having someone show respect, besides if they knew each other they could function better. Little did she know this little visit would be cut short by a hail from Starfleet.

Christian was hard at work when the Captain came onto the Bridge. The Chief Operations Officer did not look up, however; he was too absorbed in his work. That is, until the Captain stood before his station, leaning on its outer side, and asked how he and his station were. He took this literally. "Oh, I am fine," he said, still looking at his station. "And my station is functioning normally." A little thought afterwards revealed what the Captain meant. "Oh!" he said, looking up. "You mean, have I familiarised myself yet? Yes, I think so."
A bleep from his station and text appearing on its screen distracted Christian before the Captain could answer. He thought for a second, then said: "Captain, we are being hailed by Starfleet Command."

James was sitting in his chair when he say the captain walk in and go over towards the officer at the ops station. He didn't really any attention as to what they were saying until he heard the incoming hail. Turning his head he looked at the captain and awaited her reply, knowing she would say to put it on the view screen, he still didn't want to interrupt her as he figure she'd be angry if he told the commander to display it.

Captain Prince had to hold a little chuckle inside at how Hughes had first stated his reply to her question before changing it. Instead she just gave him a friendly smile. He'd fit in fine with the crew, she was certain of it. It was then a hail came through. It hadn't been listed for anyone in-particular so Lydia simply said: "Put it on screen."
She turned and faced the view screen awaiting whatever message was being sent to be patched through.

"On screen, aye sir," said Christian, thinking about the strange use of a male form of address even for female officers as prescribed by Starfleet protocol, and he tapped a few options at his station, and he patiently waited for a Flag Officer to appear on screen. I think it will be our orders, he thought. I wonder what they want us to do? However, this was the Captain's affair. He was hesitant to give her advice unless she asked for it; he didn't know her too well.

On the large view screen appeared a bit of a heavy set woman, in her fifties, with short, straight, jet black hair. She had the rank of a rear admiral. Lydia recognized the admiral. The woman had been a speaker in one of her classes at the academy. Of course Lydia highly doubted this to be a social call.
"Admiral Lyre," Lydia began. "Nice to-"
Captain Prince was cut off by Admiral Lyre. "No time for pleasantries captain." Lyre said sharply. "I've got a mission for you and your crew, though I admit I wouldn't have hand picked you for this but apparently Starfleet thinks your ready."
Definitely has not changed... "Our orders ma'am?"
"You are to intercept the USS Yoto, I'm sending you the coordinates now, and take over her mission; meet up with the Veer, it's a vessel that is carrying some valuable cargo and the Federation would like to integrate this species into our family someday. Their species is called Matalian. Be advised that unprovoked attacks have been happening on them and their planet by a species that shares the same system. They call themselves the Britannah."
"Understood. We'll be on our way-"
"Now. You'll be on your way now. Admiral Lyre out." The screen went blank, and Lydia let out a deep breath.
"Somethings never change." Captain Prince looked at her officers that were on the bridge. "Call back anyone that may have gone over to the station, lay in the coordinate given, and prepare to depart."
Captain Prince prepared to walk down to her center seat but stopped just for a moment. "By the way Commander Hughes, I much rather prefer captain. Also for those that don't know Admiral Lyre, contrary to what she said or rather implied she believes we can do the job just fine. Those that have doubts will just have to take my word."
Lydia sat in her seat and opened a ship wide comm.
"All hands report to your stations, Prince out."

Faith stepped out of the turbolift, and was a little surprised to see a non familiar face at OPS. Perhaps they had gotten the rest of their crew? Lightly shrugging with one shoulder she acknowledged his presence. "Sir." Faith then made her way down to the CONN. She looked at the console in front of her. Looks like we're going somewhere we hadn't planned.
At least that was her guess since Faith didn't remember entering any coordinates prior to her leaving the bridge. Not only that but she was sensing something from the captain, of course she was not quite sure what it was...yet.

James listened as the captain gave the orders to man their stations. Shortly after she was finished, James looked down at the panel next to his seat to get a report on the crew. Speaking up James "Captain all departments and stations report ready for departure, all crew members are ready and accounted for". He then turned and looked at the helm and said, hoping the captain wouldn't mind "Helm release moorings and request clearance to depart". He then turned towards the captain to see her reaction, hoping she wouldn't mind, after all he was her first officer and the first officer usually took care of that kind of stuff.

The turbo lift arrived at the bridge and the doors opened with their familiar hiss, as Lt. Mishtak stepped out of the turbo lift, still wearing his Klingon uniform, he took a quick look around, seeing all those present at their stations, including the new ops officer, whose records he had seen as they came across the Security officer's desk prior to the Commander's arrival... Mishtak strode across the bridge to the Tactical station, as was his job in the absence of the Senior chief tactical/security officer. He did a once over of all the displays, noting the coordinates and scanning the orders from Starfleet Command... 'hmm... The Veer... The Matalian and The Britannah never heard of them' he thought to himself while getting himself fully updated on the situation...
"Tactical is ready Captain."
he announced to his Superior officer, his words may have been few but they were intended to assure the Captain that he felt he was fit for duty, even if the ships councilor had expressed concern for his mental well being. He knew what he was capable of, and even though his injuries had been more severe than he was willing to admit, they would not affect his ability to perform his duties and his 'brooding' personality and self withdraw from the rest of the crew seemed to worry the councilor, he himself knew he needed to be slightly withdrawn from the rest of the crew in order to maintain a secure vessel and safe working environment for all aboard...

"Captain all departments and stations report ready for departure, all crew members are ready and accounted for."
Captain Prince crossed her legs. So far nothing but good news, hopefully it would stay that way. Of course with what Admiral Lyre had said Lydia doubted it'd be peaches n cream the whole time. A life in Starfleet never was. Just look at the history.
"Tactical is ready Captain."
Lydia turned in her chair towards the tactical station. She smiled at the lieutenant. "Noted lieutenant, and it's good to have you back." She then faced frontwards again awaiting Lt. Ackron to carry out the orders given by Commander McNight.

"Aye aye commander." Faith said as her hands glided over the console, tapping away at the correct buttons. She'd done her part; carried out the orders, and set in the course that had been sent in. "Course set." The rest she much said in her mind. It was just like the first time they had taken off, nothing too spectacular. Are we all ready and set for the go?

James listened to Faith as she answered his orders. Then he added in "Make it so", with that the ship started to move out.

"Aye." Faith said with a hidden smile. "Do you wish for me to use my own judgment for our speed, commander?" Faith asked a bit of teasing wedged in her voice. She had done as instructed, but no speed had been given, and since Commander McNight had been giving her the orders Faith suspected he'd give her warp, she also suspected that Captain Prince expected it too or else she would have said. Somehow I think little incidents like this are going to happen; new command, people of very few words... "Would warp two point five do?"

"at your discretion Lieutenant". James couldn't believe he had made such a mistake in forgetting to mention the speed. James then laid back in his seat and waited for something to occur that needed his presence.
