"There's always a first time for everything lieutenant." Sharpay responded to the latter part of Lt. Mishtak's sentence. Her fingers flew across the small station on the bridge. "The cross referencing finished a few minutes ago, and nothing out of the ordinary came up." Shar leaned forward in her seat, hands gripping the upper part of the console that spread over her lap. She was thinking. Not soon after she started drumming her fingers on her right hand. "Perhaps we should let the science officers in on this one as well as the captain."
She was not quite out of possible ideas, and yes they should continue to monitor the appearance and disappearance of their dark matter friend, but personally if there was nothing they could do about it now there was not much in trying to figure out something that might be a natural phenomenon.
"We could go to grey mode and see what happens, but I don't quite think cutting all power is the best way to go at the moment."

"Cutting power is a decision only the Captain can make, and I doubt she will do so at this time. Keep monitoring it Ensign, and inform the science officer, I will speak to the Captain when she returns. Commander Hughes, do you have any theories at this time?"
Mishtak then sent a message from his terminal to the captains terminal in her ready room so she would know everything upon her return to the bridge. He was still uneasy about the dark matter entity, whatever it might be, but he would push that to the back of his mind until the current mission was completed or the entity became more hostile.

"Sorry to break up the talk about our little shadow, but in case anyone is interested we've arrived at the coordinates." Faith announced to all on the bridge. "Mister Vhat should be hailing us sometime soon." She glanced back at Lt. Commander Hughes awaiting orders to put the ship into orbit, or any order at all. The man had been quite quiet the entire time!

"Report." Captain Prince said authoritatively as she went straight up to the command center. Sure she had been sent information about the dark matter friend, but that was all, and it was possible that that bit of information had been the only relevant thing to send to her ready room. Anything else could be told.
Before anyone could answer they received a hail.
"Once we're in range of the planet take us into a synchronous orbit."
Captain Prince sat down in her center seat and crossed her legs, having confidence that her crew would carry out their duties and inform her of anything else.

"Captain, we are being hailed by Vhat. Of the vessel Veer, shall I put it on screen?"
he was certain she would say yes to having it transferee to the main view screen so he began preparing the transfer, but was also ready for the alternative answer. He still did not like this Vhat person and wanted nothing more than to rip the truth of this situation out of him. But, this was the federation and he knew he had to be patient and wait for the proper time and reasons before engaging in any hostilities.

"Captain, we are being hailed by Vhat. Of the vessel Veer, shall I put it on screen?"
Closing her eyes, Lydia leaned her head back and lightly rubbed her forehead with her right hand and resisted the urge to let out a little groan. She let out a breath then lifted her head. "Yes, let's get it over with." Captain Prince said as she casually crossed her legs, readjusting her posture in the process to sit up taller.

"Yes, let's get it over with."
Mishtak could tell the Captain was looking forward to this conversation about as much as a long tailed cat looked forward to being trapped in a room full of rocking chairs, but it still needed to be done, and he still did not trust this Vhat, at all.
"On screen Captain."
He said as he activated the view screen, which was instantly filled with a picture of our dear friend Vhat in his overly flambouyant attire once more.

Christian, who had been pondering the problem Ensign Harper and Lieutenant Mishtak had been dealing with, had sat in the Command Chair silently, sunken in thoughts, occasionally distracted by reports. He sighed in relief inwardly when the Captain burst in, stood up, acknowledged the Captain with a respectful "Captain" and took the third seat in the command center.
"Captain," he said quietly, inaudible to the Veer. "I take it you've heard of the problems we've been experiencing and I apologise for not solving them myself, but... doesn't the appearance of Vhat at a moment like this seem a bit... suspicious?" He obviously disliked Vhat, so much was clear. "I suggest letting Lieutenant Francis (OOC: Junior Ops Officer) alert us of anything suspicious while we speak to him."
(OOC: I take it that until Commander McNight returns, Christian acts as the XO, supporting the Captain.)

"On screen Captain." "Captain," "I take it you've heard of the problems we've been experiencing and I apologise for not solving them myself, but... doesn't the appearance of Vhat at a moment like this seem a bit... suspicious?" "I suggest letting Lieutenant Francis alert us of anything suspicious while we speak to him."
Captain Prince leaned just a tad bit in the direction of Lt. Commander Hughes, just to make certain she caught everything. Whispering back she said: "Yes, I've read up, don't worry about it, and agreed."
Then smiling a fake smile she looked at Vhat on the view screen. "Hello again Mister Vhat." She said politely.
Diplomacy, currently she was glad she had to take that class at the academy. Back then, of course, she hated it. A torpedo or phaser blast could solve just about anything or anyone you didn't like.
Lydia also believed something Admiral Janeway had said 'Sometimes diplomacy requires a little saber rattling'.
"Greetings. I thought that since we are now in orbit your crew could beam down, deliver the supplies, and perhaps I could show you around our city streets. Naturally your crew is welcome, but I recommend small groups due to the occasional unexpected visits of the Britannah."
“Sounds lovely.” Lydia said of course lying like a rug in the process, as she began to slowly rub her hands together in a graceful manner.
“I look forward to meeting you in person and seeing your city streets.” Plunging into the lions den no doubt… “End transmission.”
Standing she looked to her bridge officers.
“Commander Hughes, inform the crew they may beam down in small groups, after the supplies have been secured. Lieutenant Mishtak, I want security on alert at all times. I’d like you to be present with our people at all times on the planet. I want the science division to keep investigating that dark matter friend.” Something about all this puts a knot in my stomach…
“Commander Hughes you have the bridge until I return.”
Captain Prince tapped her badge as she headed for the turbolift.
“Transporter room two. Stand ready to beam down the supplies for the Matalian, along with myself.”
End Lydia.

"Does anyone think it'd be more pleasant to deal with Q antics at the moment?" Faith asked the crew as she rolled along in her seat to the other side of her station. "I can't believe she went alone. One chapter of protocol broken, unless of course she meant for you to follow after lieutenant, after all doesn't 'our people' mean the crew?" I wonder just when they'll all get tired of me... Faith smirked to herself.
Not many people cared much for the humor or attitude of 'fly boys' and 'fly girls', but it didn't bother her any. Like all Faith only wanted true friends, and on this long voyage a head to the delta quadrant they all had the time to bond and get used to one another.

Rodger. Keep the science officers updated... Shar thought as she watched Captain Prince walk off the bridge. She then looked to Lieutenant Ackron and smiled. "Something tells me we're going to get enough excitment without Q, although, if the rascal ever does show up we'll have to give him a proper greeting...and no, I don't mean gift baskets."
Ensign Harper sent the rest of the data they had to all the science station, with the captains orders. The officers on duty were sure to see and investigate further. To be honest she was getting quite board with this dark matter thing, and she needed to get back to engineering to oversee the newest installment...not to mention get that report matter resolved. That had been in the back of her mind the whole time.
Sharpay put a hand to the back of her neck and rubbed it. She was to be off duty soon anyhow, but her being, well her, she was pretty much non stop...even if she got a real bad injury. Sharpay just pushed her tiredness aside.

Mishtak tapped his comm badge as the Captain exited the bridge.
"Crewman Chan to the Bridge."
He then looked at Sharpay
"Ënsign, you due to be off duty soon, why don't you head back to engineering to finish your shift, the science department will alert us if anything comes up."
he then addressed Cmdr. Hughes who was now in the captains chair.
"Commander, Crewman Chan will be arriving shortly to assume control of the tactical station."
almost on cue the turbolift doors opened and crewman Chan entered the bridge, he walked over to tactical.
"Crewman Chan reporting as ordered sir. I am here to relieve you."
"Ï am relieved Crewman, I will be on planet assisting the away team, should you require anything speak with Lt. Xena."
Mishtak then walked over to the turbolift as the crewman took over for him, the doors opend, Mishtak stepped i...
"Computer, Transporter room two."
...and the doors closed

This time, Christian made the transition into the Captain's chair smoother. After rising respectfully for the Captain when she left, saying softly, "safe return, Captain," he settled into the Captain's chair with a little more ease than last time, he heard Lieutenant Mishtak's report, then wished the Klingon luck. "Lieutenant Francis," he said to the Ops Officer. "Alert me any time the systems have any problems, and keep an eye on the censor readings." Lieutenant Francis nodded; Commander Hughes found that enough.
Then Lieutenant Ackron said something about broken protocol. Of course, Chris was quick to jump to the Captain's defense. "Oh, no doubt she has her reasons," he said loyally. "Let's keep watching the house until she returns, shall we?" After a silence fell, Christian decided he might as well get to know his fellow officers on the Bridge. "So, Lieutenant Ackron, right?" he said, somewhat uncomfortable with social interaction while on duty. "Have you ever met one of the Q?"

No doubt... Faith thought in response to Commander Hughes defense comment about Captain Prince.
"Have you ever met one of the Q?"
Faith looked over her shoulder at Lt. Commander Hughes. "No sir," Faith replied. "However, like everyone else in the academy, mainly command school I've heard and read about them. They sound like interesting beings, but troublesome. What about you commander? Have you met one of them?"

James exited the captains ready room and walked over to the science station. Once he arrived he looked around and saw that the science officer had yet to arrive so he decided to start without.
