Lisa smiled, happy that she would go down to test her hypothesis. Her scientific mindset had helped her formulate the hypothesis and she was glad to be the one to test it. And to prove to Mishtak and Commander Reinhardt that they were wrong all the time about the Rathren's intentions. "I can't wait to beam down, Captain," she said as she followed her commanding officer into the turbolift.

"Lieutenant Mishtak, Commander Reinhardt, Lieutenant Huygens, you're with me."
He was glad she had accepted his suggestion, though it remained to be seen how Larkin would react to it...
"Tiho to Lieutenant Xena, meet me in transporter room two. You're beaming down as part of the away team."
Mishtak was startled by this announcement, if she had wanted an additional member of security why hadn't she asked him to assign someone? Instead she calls his second officer onto the away team, that meant tactical on the bridge would be manned by the third string instead of a veteran, not much he can do about it now though...
He pressed a button on the console that would alert anyone on standby in the security office to report to the bridge, then he made his way to the turbo lift, pausing to look at Christian.
"Good luck commander."
he said as he entered the turbo lift and was on his way...

"...I would also request that Commander Reinhardt be placed on the away team, he may be able to learn of other friendly races and their coordinates while we are on the surface."
Larkin swiveled around in his chair so fast he nearly fell out and had to hold onto to it to keep himself in it. He looked from Lt.Mishtak to the Captain a look of complete and total shock on his face. After so bold a disagreement with his superior officers he thought he would be lucky to see the bridge again let alone be part of the away team. He blinked his shock away.
"Wh-what? I mean yes, yes of course, I would like to be apart of the away team if only to ease my mind, then again there is the added benefit of me gaining knowledge to other friendly planets and species, you know to avoid the meaner nastier ones, with lesser sense of smell and bigger teeth." He said trying to make a joke to ease some of the previous tension that was there.
"Lieutenant Mishtak, Commander Reinhardt, Lieutenant Huygens, you're with me."
Larkin popped right out of his chair and and followed the Captain to the Turbo lift. He looked over at Mishtak and gave him a nod of thanks. He gave the same gesture to Captain Tiho. He stood at ease as the away team filed in to the lift. Despite his being cautious on the side of near paranoia he was excited about taking stops on another alien planet, besides flying, this was the best part of his job and Rank.

Looks like it is back to the CONN. With Larkin gone they still needed someone at the helm, even if there was not a whole ton of things to do. It'd be fine. Faith made her way back to the bridge. She, like a few others among the crew had heard of the first contact made. Besides, to know another ship was around without looking at sensors all one had to do was look out a mess hall window or something. A no brainer! Faith sat down in the chair. Still warm... She looked over the current data, then went about her job.

Arriving on the bridge she saw Commander Hughes in the captain's seat and Faith at the helm 'everything seems normal to me.' she thought to herself.
"Crewman Chan reporting for duty Sir."
She said to the commander as she took her station at tactical, it was then that she saw the other ship on the screen and the readouts from the sensors indicating a planet and other, smaller vessels in orbit. Noe of them seemed to have any weapons,at least nothing that her sensors could detect, and she simply shrugged as she flowed into her duties...

It was quiet on the bridge. Even after Crewman Chan had arrived. Faith was getting a tad restless just sitting, flying in a circle basically. It was important that she be there, and she was not upset about that. Things were just getting incredibly dull. "So..." Faith said cutting the silence. "Anyone up for a guessing game or something?" Faith glanced over her shoulder to see if it sparked anyone. "Well?"

Christian sat in the Command Chair comfortably but in a state of alert. Then Crewman Chan entered, and he stood up to acknowledge her as she reported for duty. He smiled. When he had his first command experience during the crisis with Vhat and the Veer, and the dark matter ship almost destroyed the Orion, he got to know Chan as an able Tactical Officer. She had worked with Lisa then.
"Good afternoon, Crewman," he said. "Relax a bit, you've got an uneventful shift." Then he sat down again and went around his routine checkup business.
Faith signalled the fact that it was all rather uneventful or dull, apparently, as she looked over her shoulder and proposed a guessing game. "I'm rather bad at those," Christian said with a chuckle. "What about?"

"I'm rather bad at those," "What about?"
"We could play two truths and a lie." Faith suggested as she turned her chair all the way around, facing Commander Hughes. "Each person takes a turn, they say two things of truth, one thing that is a lie, and the rest have to guess which is the lie." Faith smiled. It was a very interesting, and fun game. "I promise not to use my Betazoid heritage if we do play." Faith then lightly shrugged. "Then again, we could turn the view screen on and play 'I Spy', but that might lead to a lot of us guessing black, planet, or space."

It sounded more like something they'd do relaxed in a mess hall, but things were so dull that Christian would judge it appropriate even if it really wasn't all according to protocol. "Go ahead, Lieutenant," he said with a smile. "Your choice. Ms. Chan, are you playing too?"

Playing games while on Bridge duty seemed a little eccentric, even for this crew but Commander Hughes seemed to be okay with the idea...
"Go ahead, Lieutenant,"
I guess we're playing a game she thought...
"Your choice. Ms. Chan, are you playing too?"
Leaving it up to her, now that was unusual...
"Well, I suppose it would help pass the time,as long as our duties aren't compromised..."
She gave some thought to the two games before continuing...
"...I have naturally blond hair, I enjoy dancing and am an only child. Now it's your turn to guess which is a lie."
There, she had started the game off with two truths and a lie, now they would see how long this game could last, she began wondering if they would continue it into the off duty hours as well, if it lasted that long.

"Well, I suppose it would help pass the time,as long as our duties aren't compromised..."
"That's the spirit!" Faith exclaimed with a smile as she raised a hand in the process. Looked like Crewman Chan was going to go first. Bring it on! Faith though with a smile. This was bound to be interesting.
"...I have naturally blond hair, I enjoy dancing and am an only child. Now it's your turn to guess which is a lie."
Hmm... "My guess would be the lie is that you are an only child." Faith then looked to Commander Hughes. It was his turn to guess. Whoever was right got to go next.

Christian thought about it. It was easy, really: he remembered some of the details of Chan's duty record after thinking for a while. It said that she liked dancing. Now to guess between the naturally blond hair and the only child. He decided that it would be rude to tell Chan that her hair was not naturally blond.
"I concur with Faith," he said. "What was the lie, Crewman?"

She knew it was going to be a fairly easy round in the game, not just because it was the first but because she was pretty sure the commander had read her file and the quarters logs and probably remembered she had her younger sister on board with her.
"My guess would be the lie is that you are an only child."
And Faith has the round won...
"I concur with Faith, What was the lie, Crewman?"
And he gets it right also, if every round ends in a tie how will we decide who goes next, she pondered to herself...
"Well,it would seem you both have won this round, so who's next?"

I won! Christian thought, and he smiled childishly like a child who has just won a game of Monopoly. "This is fun," he said. "I shall think of something difficult for you two." He thought and thought, trying to think of something difficult. "I've been in the Space Scouts, I've got an elder sister," he took a split second to formulate the lie, which wasn't easy,"and I wear glasses because I like them." The last wasn't true: Christian wore them because he was nearsighted and his eyesight kept worsening. As long as it did that, he had to keep wearing glasses.
Although I must say I look very intellectual with them on, he told himself, and smiled to himself.

She was going to let him go next. Rank and all. Though Faith could not help her smile, then later, laugh at what was suppose to be the lie. That one was so easy! The better might be to say something like he's allergic to the drops or would rather have the glasses than the drops or any surgery...or something. Blah.
"The last is the lie, commander." Faith stated almost fact-like.
"Am I right?"
