Faith had been listing like most of the bridge crew, it was hard not too. What with that large screen an all... There was something that troubled Faith some. "Sir, I know it doesn't take a telepath to know something is up with this character, but I feel the away team might be in trouble. Or run into trouble."

//"Xena to security and away team, and Orion, I've got a lead from on of the locals. Captain Prince was last seen in the ally east of the square. Crewman Rider and I are going to check it out now. Oh, and I think our Vhat man might be involved. His name seemed to strike fear into the local mans heart."//

"What happened down there, Ensign?" Christian asked urgently. "Ensign, report!" Darn it, this is getting terribly complicated. "Away Team, this is the Orion," he said, contacting the Away Team. "What happened to Ensign Harper?"
Things were hotting up on the Orion's Bridge: before Christian received an answer, Lisa arrived from the Science Department. She apologised for the long wait, went over to the Science Station, and reported. "Commander, Ensign Harper was correct. I have implemented her improvements with a little help from engineering and we are now ready to view the scan."
"On screen," said Christian in acknowledgement, smiling briefly at the Assistant CSO before turning to an extraordinary sight. Was that what he though it was? Lisa had seen it, too: "Commander?" she asked. "Isn't that... a ship?"
nuts, though Christian. We've got company, then. "It seems we've got company. All senior crew, report to the Conference Lounge to discuss our options." He nodded to a junior officer. "You have the Bridge. Inform me if anything happens and I'll come running straight back."

"Ship indeed." Faith commented as she took it upon herself to back the Orion into a low orbit behind the planets moon. She also heard Mishtak then silence. The away team was definitely out of reach. She looked over her shoulder at Christians order. Faith got up and let another junior officer take her place at CONN.

Christian came running onto the Bridge, and the Officer of the Watch almost had to roll out of the Command Chair to be fast enough to vacate the seat in time. "All stations, report!" Christian issued the command, and as the reports came in of some little damage but not quite severe, Christian gave further orders.
"Lieutenant Huygens," he ordered. "I want the power to the sensor array permanently so we can see through this damned dark matter." Lisa, who was at her station, obliged. "Lieutenant Ackron, give us evasive maneouvers as soon as possible!" he told the Conn Officer, quite obviously.
The ship showed up on the screen somewhat later. Engineering, however, spoiled the fun. "I hate to be Mr Killjoy, Commander," said Lieutenant Woolly, "but boosting the sensors during combat, in addition to the needed combat systems, is going hard on our drives."
Christian was made even more nervous, but he wouldn't break and he certainly wouldn't fail. "Suggestions?"

"Shoo!" Faith whispered and gestured to the officer that had taken her place. After the seat was vacant again she sat down. Nothing had been needed to be changed by the other fella. That was good.
"Lieutenant Ackron, give us evasive maneouvers as soon as possible!"
"Aye." Faith responded as she was already starting to work on it.
"I hate to be Mr Killjoy, Commander," "but boosting the sensors during combat, in addition to the needed combat systems, is going hard on our drives." "Suggestions?"
Faith was no engineering or operations major or officer, but she did have a suggestion. No suggestion was ever a stupid one; especially in time like these.
"Couldn't we like just take off the systems we don't need at the moment, like replicators and holodecks, and use their power to give us and added boost?"

After being stuck in the turbo lift due to the impact of battle, and wishing she had made it to the bridge sooner, the turbo lift doors opened and Crewman Chan dashed out and over to the tactical station.
"Sorry I'm late sir, turbo-lift trouble."
She immediately began running sensor sweeps of every type to track the enemy vessel and attempt to pinpoint it's weakness. She also ran system diagnostics on shields and weapons.
"Shields are operating at 95% of normal, but are still holding."
Hearing Faith's suggestion.
"Sir I have taken the liberty to re-route power from the ships replicators to shields, and am now re-routing auxilary power from holodecks and astrometrics to engineering in order to maintain visual of the enemy vessel. I should be able to target it in... nevermind sir, target acquired."
Chan stood there, her finger hovering just above the fire button, just a simple push on that button would send a barrage of Phaser fire and photon torpedoes to the spot where the ship was last spotted, and it did not appear that the ship was moving very far, or at least the sensors capable of detecting it showed it had not moved... She waited for the Commander's order to fire...

"Well done, Ms. Chan," Christian said. He liked people taking initiative, but still waiting where it mattered; according to protocol, that was, of course. He nodded: "Fire!" The phaser fired, but the ship only shook little on their monitors. "Lisa," he said urgently. "Is that a quality of the dark matter or their shields?"
"I don't know, Commander," said Lisa. "But it could well be. I'll look for a way to disrupt the dark matter, if Crewman Chan can spare some thoughts as well." "Make it so, Lisa," said Christian. "And quickly."
Ba-doom. One more shot. Please, don't let there be an emergency on the planet...

Janet's fingers flew across the console as she read all the damage reports as well as tracked the ship, attempted to get readings from it's shields and return fire... good thing she was good at multitasking...
"Commander, reports indicate minor damage to the Orion, there is however a coolant leak in engineering, but they seem to have it contained at the moment, also I cannot get an accurate reading on their shields, nor can I determine their weapon types."
As she spoke she also pressed the button and fired a spread of phasers across the enemies hull, sensors indicated minor damage but could not determine anything about their shields. A spread of photon torpedoes followed the phaser spread, and again there was almost no information on the enemy shields. Chan was begining to get distressed, she had been in other situations like this and always the sensors and the computer were able to determine something with each impact.
"Commander, sensors are not indicating any damage to their ship, I just can't seem to get an acurate reading..."
She began thinking, and asking the computer to extrapulate data at the same time...
"Commander, permission to have science and engineering rig up a modified quantum torpedo? It may be able to break through whatever dark matter they are using and allow our sensors to get a proper scan of the ship."

While at CONN Faith listened to the reports around her. At the moment she could not be happier that her job was to fly the ship. Too much was going on in the other departments, a fast paced too much of stuff. Faith hoped they could get things under control, however something suddenly came up.
The console started to flash. "I hate to report this, but I just lost helm control!" The ship lightly shook and a few sparks came from her console. Faith raised her hands and ducked just in time as not to get injured. Whatever would they do now?!

Christian nodded at Crewman Chan's request, but before he could add word to deed, Lieutenant Ackron startled him by her revelation that the helm was no longer responding. "Engineering!" he said, pressing his commbadge. "Get us helm control, or re-rout it to another station on the Bridge." It would take a while. In the meantime, he would try and get them out of this mess.
"Rig up and fire at will, Crewman Chan," he said urgently. "And quickly, we need to make sure we don't hit the dark matter!" Impact when? I probably don't want to know...

Chan sends a message via ship wide internal text to both Engineering and Science Department heads and assistants requesting them to begin working on a modified quantum torpedo that will pass through the dark matter and register something about the actual ship, she also suggested attaching some sort of probe to it as well and notify her when it was ready to fire.
She then went back to launching a small barrage of phaser spread and photon torpedoes at the ship, none seemed to impact the dark matter, but none gave her any readings of the ship either. She was starting to get annoyed with this enemy vessel... she had half a mind to ask permission to lead a boarding party, if they ever got the blasted shields down.

// Bridge, this is Engineering. We've encountered an unexpected problem, so it will take us somewhat longer to transfer the helm as requested. //
"Acknowledged," said Christian, ineffectively hiding his disappointment in urgency. "But please, do so quickly! Transfer it to Operations, even, or to Engineering itself, in any case, find the cause!" He then turned his attention to Lisa. "Lisa, any thoughts on the matter?"
Lisa laughed. Christian didn't know what was so funny for a while, until he noticed the pun in his previous sentence. "I'm sorry, Christian," she said, in one of those rare moments where she would use his name on-duty. It seemed appropriate to her. "You just keep surprising me, after all these years. No, seriously, I think we could probably blast the dark matter open with a quantum torpedo as Crewman Chan says. We have no other choice but to..." A bleep interrupted the Assistant Chief Science Officer. "Ah, excuse me," she said. "An incoming communication. I think Ms Chan's got it too."
It was the quantum torpedo, rigged up in a record amount of time. "Ready to fire, Crewman?" Christian asked.
